Two Questions
I have just moved to Albion from Mid
where I have a 48 Shadowblade.
Never tryed an Infitrator. I like the mercfiltrator spec becasue I hate relying on Crit Strike styles.
My questions are this
1. Is it worth raiseing DW above 36? My understanding is it only determines the chance to land with the off hand and does not effect damage?
2. I started out as a Brit and put 15 points into dex 5 into con and 5 into quick. How high can I get my dex with items and Sc gear and will it be enought to see good damage with Thrust. Or should I just go Slash?
My spec plan is
34 Stealth
33 Envenom
50 Duel Wield
50 Slash/Thrust
I did not auto train stealth like I should have.

Re: Two Questions
Actually I highly suggest that spec.
Few reasons:
1. w/Brit your dmg output buffed w/50 enh would give you greater dmg potential as thrust, assuming you did 10 dex, 10 str, 10 con. (I know this due to having higher dmg output after purchasing aug str 3 for MoA <3, which greatly effects weapon skill)
2. Brit = more hp
3. If your RA's are spec'd out right when u hit R6, you're golden. From then on out, it will only get better.

Re: Two Questions
Thank you very much for the input. I will go that route then and go thrust. But as im now 22 I'll have to wait till 40 to respec.
What would you think of this slighly modified spec.
50 Thrust
50 Duel Wield
32 Stealth (50@RR7)
35 Envenom (50@RR4)
Reason for this is im banking on stealth not being as big an issue and the lifebane at RR4 helping me more. I think RR4 is more with in my reach than wating till RR5 for it. I do not just RVR exclusivly I devide my time between RVR and PVE about equaly
Also based on RR4 what RA's would you get and in what order?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Two Questions
Lifebane is highly overrated IMO. The last debuff is what you should really be aiming for.
It also depends on what classes you intend to hunt. If you want the blood of another assassin, then I'd suggest higher stealth.
The areas you are unsure of are ones that reflect a playstyle. Which I don't know what yours is, however you do.
As far as RA's...I'd suggest getting purge early. No more than Dodger 2. MoP is nice, but a lil overrated IMO. MoA is great (since it's fixed), as being able to swing a slow weapon fast yields higher dmg outputs.
Think of it this way. The more dmg you can do in the shortest time is the avenue to go.
I can't really even recall how I spec'd out RA's coming up. I've respec'd them quite a bit in order to find what works for "me". Only thing I can suggest is to get some RR's, and head to Pend for testing. I can't count the hours I've spent there.

Re: Two Questions
I've asked these same questions on another steather forum. and im being told there that stealth of 33-35 is too low.
Now my highest assassin character is my 48 shadowblade but I always keep his stealth high. I have 40 base at 48. I have no experience in how effective my stealth would be at say 35 base with +11 from sc gear. Now I'll have some Realm Ranks by 50 to be sure but how much is anyones guess but I know RR 3 or 4 is doable. Is this level of stealth gonna be enought in your opinon? Will I see a stealther with say 40 stealth base RR 6 for instance at about the same range and time to be able to ruin his pa on me with an anytime style? Or am I gonna get jumped by him/her before I know they are there? Edited by: Tesean at: 12/15/03 1:33 pm
Re: Two Questions
In my experience Tesean (which I have a good bit of), the only thing you must worry about is what your stealth will be including additions by SC, as well as RR. If your base + these additions equal 50, then it is no different than somebody who spec'd out 50 base stealth...on the detection side. The only difference would be the level of safe fall aquired.
At my current RR (6.6), I have 34 (+16) stealth. I have the same effectiveness in detection as somebody w/say 40 base stealth. As such, I will continue to roll back my stealth along w/envenom when my RR goes up via respecs. Putting the extra points aquired back into the CS line to give my BS1 (eventually BS2 doing this), or "bt breaker" less variance in dmg.
To answer you simply...no, having 34-35 (+16, +15) base stealth will not hurt you on the detection side. Most ppl that will suggest otherwise are either 1) not high enough RR to have base as low as you suggest, or 2) don't have a lot of experience w/the class to know how the dynamics of the spec lines work VS. additions (+'s to skill).
The main thing I would suggest is to have 50 "overall" stealth when you are done. You can always roll stealth back as you go up in RR. Either that, or be prepared to get caught off-guard at times.
No secrets about my spec as of now, so here it is..quite similar to what you had in mind.

Thank you Bringin Chaos
Im gonna follow your advice and go with low envenom to raise stealth then roll it bcak to raise envenom a bit to get last str/con debuff.
One more question if you dont mine. How do you fair with thrust against leather? Or is your damage high enought with the weapons you mentioned in the other thread to not make leather having a resist to thrust be an issue?

Re: Two Questions
On avg. I do around 170-200+ styled on SB...maybe a bit harder on NS's. Keep in mind this is mainhand only. Offhand lands 95% of the time, and hits for anywhere from 80-100+.
