Two-Hander on EE Tonight (25/05/04)
Eastenders is doing another of it's two-handers tonight with Kat and Alfie. If previous two-handers are anything to go by it should be pretty good.

EE two handers are appalling. i dont give a fig about kat and alfie. i think its a tedious over drawn out overlaboured storyline. if they had broken it up with light relief (hello excellent corrie, how you doing!!) then it would work but the writing on ee is soo poor and the acting distinctly average that ee simply cant pull it off.
The two-hander between Kat and Zoe was one of the best pieces of drama I have witnessed on a soap.
The emotional language, the 'raw' performances and the subtle metephorical links and innuendo's were excellent.
I think two-handers are very hard to keep up, as in this case it is at least 30 minutes of only two characters, and to keep the audience interested for that long is a tough challenge for any actor, whether it be bob from the local drama group or Dame Judi Dench.
Personally, I think Jessie Wallace is an underrated actress, but the only thing remotely funny about Alfie is that he won Best Actor at the Soap Awards.

There were two brilliant ones with Dot and Ethel. The first had them reminiscing about the war and the second was the euthanasia storyline where Ethel asked Dot to help her die.

Even though I agree with those people who say that EastEnders has become total shit, I've always been impressed with their two-hander episodes. I agree with Angelfan, the ones with Dot and Ethel were brilliant, but the only thing that's going to get me watching EE again is the opportunity to give Spencer a one-hander, if you know what I mean.

I thought tonight's episode was really good with great performances by both Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace.
There've been other great two-handers in the past as well i.e. Little Mo and Trevor, Billy and the guy he was abused by as a kid and as previously mentioned Kat and Zoe.
