I have just bought a 1994 SSR G 3.0 diesel Surf
It rides really hard and a local Shock shop tells me I need new shocks at least on the front. It has Rancho 9000s and their tester reads 25% (front) and 50% (rear) with Rancho setting on 3. They tell me that this is way too soft on front and just OK on rear they should be replaced, and they are recommending self adjusting unit (ie no manual adjustment like the Rancho). Does this make sense?
Also the vehicle has had its standard wheels replaced with new mags, tyres now LT265/75R16 (M&S). Pressures were up around 50 PSI which seems very high to me. I am having trouble getting any info on what the tyre pressures should be. Any ideas?
I am thinking, get new shocks and drop the tyre pressures to improve the ride. Any thoughts?
