Ulwe Suulosse
An elf, Ulwe stands tall at 6'3". His wirey muscles adorn a robust frame, making him stronger than many others of his kind. He is preternaturally fast and coordinated. He has a weathered complexion from exposure to sea, wind and sun which harden his youthful features. His large green-blue almond shaped eyes shine with intelligence and display an inner calm. His long thin nose has wide nostrils and bisects his handsome face. He has the high cheek bones and narrow chin which are typical of his race. Slender pointed ears poke from a long mane of thick brown hair. The knotted and tangled mass he wears with long braids and tied with a bit of leather thong. Worked into his tresses are several small shells and beads made from bits of coral. He has full lips and a wide mouth which is rarely smiling. On the occasion Ulwe displays mirth, his gleaming white teeth and dimpled cheeks lighten his mostly stern countenance.

He is clad in a fine coat of mail and leather. The impossibly small and tightly woven links of steel mesh flow together and ripple like liquid with the elf's movements. Silver, Turquoise and Lapis Lazuli embellishments accent the collar and hems. Through clever and skilled handiwork, slightly darker links join together to spell out Orlanthian prayers in spidery Elven script, which wrap around the sleeves and waist. Underneath the gleaming links of steel, a supple and rich layer of leather extends past the metal to form a border. The leather is finely tooled with knotwork depictions of sea and wind flowing from one shape to the next. The inside of the leather is lined with a padded cloth of sea-green color with a smooth and shiny texture. Atop his head is a matching steel cap with nasal and cheek guards. The helm is set with damascene inlays of silver and gold suggestive of water and wind. At his left side is a large steel shield. The long oval curved sheet of steel is tall enough to cover most of his body. It bears no decoration, being a simple utilitarian piece of protection.

In his right hand, Ulwe carries a spear which is roughly his same height. The long and broad head of the spear is made of the finest steel and iron. Through the skilled pattern welding and fine tempering, the blade has a perfect scale-like pattern, and razor sharp edge. The perfectly balanced shaft of white ash has silver inlay in abstract shapes depicting a water motif. The butt of the spear has a pointed cap of iron, with engravings of strange sea-creatures.

Strapped to his back are a collection of eight slim well-balanced javelins, each a work of art, though two in particular stand out from the rest. A matched pair of rune metal javelins covered in complex patterns and strange inscriptions made from the hand of the Runelord Zvehdros himself.

Over his armor is a well worn cloak of deep blue fastened by a simple pin in the shape of a spear. Under his protective gear, Ulwe wears modest clothing. A simple woolen tunic dyed deep green, and leather breeches of a similar hue. His feet are shod in strong boots of leather.

Around his neck hang two necklaces bearing holy symbols of his god Orlanth. The first is a bright gold spear suspended by a thick silver chain. The second is a broze pendant in the shape of a porpoise leaping out of the water it is supported by a much simpler necklace is made of large polished shell and coral prayer beads.

At his belt are two pouches of sharkskin with clasps of whalebone. The larger pouch holds his personal items. The smaller contains several smooth supple pebbles gathered from a beach and a simple goatskin sling.

He wears a pack over-stuffed and heavy. The weight of the bag bears down his shoulders and stoops the tall elf. He uses his spear often as a walking aide.

Ulwe's Tale
"I spent my youth on my home of Shei Hythriad, an island far to the East. There I studied at the Ossenian, a great temple to the God Orlanth. I became ordained as a priest in the Aerndalen sect and was soon aboard a ship plying the seas.
The Golden Dawn traveled far and wide until it put into port in the distant city of Dobrug, the home of the greatest Orlanthian cathedral of all: the Locamyridra. I gave my leave to my captain and then took up study in the labyrinth shrines and temples which make up the great complex.
While there, I heard the tales of my countrywoman Lyssa of the Grove and her band of Grovewardens. I was further amazed to learn that my sister Joalla and an old friend Naredru had come to Moagara to join Lyssa's band. I gave my leave to my elder priest Waed Daeva and left to join my famous countrywoman and reunite with my family and old friends.
After years of service to Lyssa and the Grovewardens, I met with the Companions immediately following their great adventure under Old Kerlew. Their Captain Atan, an elf, was the last of the Merek Lek. He travelled with a Yelmite named Sangraal, A bald mage named Madragar, Draxim, a dwarf of an uncertain background, Ruglan a watchman from Dobrug, and Kezib a monk and friend to Sangraal. My lady bid me to follow the Companions to Raven's Gate to bear the body of Ruig a dwarf and member of the Ghurugil sect of Urox. That was the last time I saw my Lady.
I became a member of the band led by Captain Atan though not without difficulties. After a brutal showdown with a shadow cult, I was nearly killed by the Sekestian Kezib, who had been possessed by a shadow of Chaos. My fate as well as that of the others became intertwined and we journeyed Westward to investigate a Broo infestation of the Nrall Valley. We tracked them to a small abandoned mining town which led us into the deep, dark earth. It was there we met the Ghuruskalli cousins Khelzhad and Pogar. We made our way to the Fortress of Lead to meet Theony and her people who had been trapped from another time. Janes one of her tribe, joined us for our final assault. There in the Cairnhollow, we defeated the Shadows Irigraal and Urukavas with the aid of the dragon-newt Utamaa.
After returning to Dobrug for the winter, the Companions discovered further conspiracy at the hands of the Xorn. The plot led us to Yashai the Lioness, a Xorn in the guise of a powerful Olmanii Princess. We gaver and her minions battle and defeated their plot in the catacombs beneath her palace. It was there that I learned of my old friend Naredru's betrayal of Lyssa. I slew him and avenged Lyssa's death. In the course of the battle, Yashai's palace burned to the ground.
Thence the Companions made ship to find the rest of the strange grey disks to stop the plots of the enemy from realizing their foul prophecy known as the Drowning Dawn. The Kelp Canary, our ship, put in to Bullullod's Isle where there was an ancient Dragon-newt fortress. Once inside, our spirits inhabited the bodies of the Dragon-newts in a far distant past. Our actions in another time have changed the present, though for good or ill we know not yet.
My lord Orlanth has steered my course to that of the Companions, and to that I shall hold true."
