Venetian Shadows: a Vampire the Masquerade Writing Community
Welcome to Venice, weary wanderer, and to one of the world’s best known and forever romantic cities. The year our story begins is 1860, a time of political turmoil and struggle for dominance which tears Italy apart: Venice enjoys a precarious independence under the ruling House of Savoy, but social unrest, change and reform are imminent. Nothing will ever be the same in the city of isles, and as mortal society prepares itself for the times ahead, as old traditions give way to modern ideology, a more obscure side of Venice weaves its net of deceit.

The forsaken…
Vamprires. Or, as they like to call themselves, Kindred. For centuries, these beings of darkness have co-existed in secrecy with mortals, enforcing their own myth and cleverly concealing their presence. But not only vampires call Venice their home: no, the Wereleopard, and their kin, as well as lycans and many preternaturals have found solace here, although not always through a peaceful relationship.
Great responsibility falls upon the shoulders of Camarilla’s new Prince, Francesca Ambrosi: can she keep enemy forces at bay, now that the Sabbat rears its beastly head every so often? This can only be answered by you. Will you choose her side, or on the contrary, that of the enemy? Or maybe you would prefer to remain above the fights? Is the fate of a human caught between it all your own?
In the city of Venice, anything is possible…and nothing is ever what it seems.
Venetian Shadows proudly announces its Grand Re-Opening! After a well deserved break, the fair city of poets and Shakespearean lovers returns for your role-playing pleasure, with a new layout and a new timeline! We are set in the mid 19th century, something unique among Vampire the Masquerade boards, in our desire to bring you something original, different, and enjoyable. You do not need to be a History graduate to play at VS; we concentrate on meaningful writing and good storylines more than nitpicking every historical detail. Just keep in mind the atmosphere of the time, the technological development (trains existed but most people still used carriages, electricity is still a thing of the future etc). and everything will be fine.
Our goal is quality over quantity; we focus on good, deep and interesting plots and will not allow drama to get in the middle of that. The staff and members are friendly and helpful and will answer any questions you may have, as well as help out.
Venetian Shadows is a GOLD board, and you will never see ads here. You may, upon acceptance, request a Signature banner, Avatar, Custom Title or even a unique Table to post in!
