Venril Sathir info plz thx~
I have a few questions regarding Venril Sathir for those of you that know his status nowadays. We have some players who are interested in getting Epic Pieces from him, and therefore would like to attempt to kill him in the not too distant future.

1. Spawn Time.

I have seen many conflicting reports. Originally he was a 1 week spawn as most Kunark mobs of this Caliber were, but I have read more recently that he is now a 3 day spawn. Can anyone clarify this?

2. Who kills him now?

Just curious as to who kills him now. That way if we cant squeeze in a combined raid to drop him, perhaps we can get a Wizard or two in on some other raids with the hopes of getting something several raids in the future.

3. How many HP he has.

I know about his Lifetap proc (think its a proc) but was curious as to how many HP he has (if not the standard 32k)

As far as Tactics on killing him go, I feel I have read enough (literally hundreds of posts) to be pretty well grounded in how to do it, as many people are, so strategy questions are something I didnt include. If we failed, we can learn from our mistakes.

1. Spawn Time.

VS is a 3 day spawn. In between spawns of VS, you get 2 spawns of VSR (22-26 hrs later). For example:

Monday: VS is up, VS dies
Tuesday: VSR is up, VSR dies
Wednesday: VSR is up, VSR dies
Thursday: VS is up.

2. Who kills him now?

I think that VS is pretty much a first come, first served raid.
Whomever that gets there with the force capable of taking him down raids him, and most VS raids I've seen and participated in are pickups.

3. How many HP he has.

From what I remember he hasn't got 32khp - more like 19khp.
Though your healers will be working against his 1500 lifetap proc the whole fight, which probably gives the appearance of more hp.

VS and VSR after sever down
also noticed that the last three times the server has gone down, whether a patch or an outage - VSR is up when the server comes back - not VS.

As far as I know, this is a fairly recent change, but can anyone confirm that? Did it not used to be VS that would be up after a server crash/patch?

Yes invectus it used to be VS that spawned.....now its his remains. Not sure if its random or always the remains now. Pissed me off too cuz I was planning on killing him on server up today and finishing epic =\.

I led a raid last night to kill VSR, he went down a lil after 10pm PST. I dunno if tonight is VS or VSR, but he'll spawn sometime between 8 and 12 midnight PST Tonight.

I've never actually posted on the Tunare server board before, but since I'm finally going for my epic, I thought it would be good to check it out, for raid info and such...

WHat I would like to know, is if any of you have any advice on how to get in on one of these pick up raids on VS, or what kind of force I would need to take him down... Currently, I'm still working on timing the Phinny spawn right to get there before someone kills it off. =P But, thought it would be good to take any of the three staves as I can get them. (and yes, I'm a wizard. only a little lvl 50 wizard, but a wizard all the same. ;) )

Any information I could get on VS, or even Phinny or the fear golem, for wizard epic, would be much appreciated. =)

One of the better strategies I've seen for VS involves having one or more enchanters try to chain Rune on the MT. If they can manage to keep VS eating through the Rune, his Lifetap proc can't go off, and it's all downhill from there. :)

As far as force... I've only raided him a couple times but I think the force we succeeded with was 20ish people average level 58-59 or so.
