Waking the Witch
Steps, stairs, steps, stairs, steps, steps, a spill of footfalls, and thud. Two feet, firm black shoes, a thin black strap over the top of the foot. The shadow which disappears underneath the heels ("but it isn't really gone, is it?" says a childish voice, and brief flash - two brown eyes, a pair of adult feet, a man in a black coat, the brown eyes going down, a little girl's feet beside, lifting the foot, putting it down; the shadow disappearing, and the man says "you can't see it anymore", and a blink of lashes, sweet face, "but it's still there").

Zoom up: white knee-socks. Color appropriate skirt; school uniform. Up, blouse; suspenders; jacket, gray, unbuttoned; open, it flaps. Up, fine features, and delicate; whittled by a master carver's knife, and then the eyes, intent, focused somewhere off to the side, a lovely, liquid gold.

Yowza - there she goes, running from the library across the quad, adjusting her bag (leather, expensive, scuffed around the edges) so that it doesn't fall off her shoulder.

She leaves behind a silence, and a couple of blinking students; a girl with strawberry hair, who leans out the door, and a girl with long brown hair, who looks up from a book, and a boy with glasses, who also leans into the door.

Click, and it shuts.

Re: Waking the Witch
"What is your rush?" a familair, Romanian voice said.

A boy was leaning against one of the few trees scattered about the Quad. Trench coat, wide brimmed hat, leather gloves, thick pants, combat boots; a proverbial shadow in the sunlight. His arm were resting across his chest, his legs crossed one over the other. Red eyes flashed from beneath his hat, the creature coming to life as the girl ran past. The hunter had found its pray once more.

Vash straightened himself out, turning to face the girl who ahd zoomed past him. Whether she would stop or not was a mystery to him, but he would hedge his bets on her turning for at least a second glance. They knew eachother well, if not by words then by silent understanding. He had not seen her since his arrival and he made it a goal to seek her out. Now he had succeeded, his mastery over his craft showing, though the girl seemed in a rush. Maybe this wasn't the best time to meet up with her, but it was the only chance he would get, as far as he knew. Hopefully she would stop, at least for a second, to say hi to the mysteriously reappearing friend.

Re: Waking the Witch
She ran right by him, of course; hair, that shining banner of implausible gold, streaming behind. But she ran right by him as he spoke, and it takes a moment - even two moments - before his words sink in and really register.

She's five steps (running steps, by necessity longer than a usual stride) ahead when she turns, mid-stride, suspension of grace, to stare over her shoulder. Twist of her hips, followed by the body: cat-like reflexes, baby. Or simply limber-athletic-teenage-girl reflexes.

"Vash!" Surprise. He has surprised her, really, truly. "I'll find you!" And then, with a wave of her arm, she's off again! Truly, such a hurry.

Of course, she will find him. V had her sources.
