Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
It was late in the day, and the sun was setting. As it neared the horizon, it cast a reddish-purplish glow across the entire campus. The sunset was a great thing to see, especially at the end of a peaceful day such as this one. And there were only a couple of good places to watch this scene as it happened. One of these places was one of Knives's favorite places on the campus: the lake.

So, with nothing else to do today, Knives visited the lake. He was currently seated near the water's edge, just above the beach on the grassy ground that surrounded it. He stretched out, legs in front of him, and hands on the ground behind him to support his upper body. His deep blue eyes gazed upwards at the sky, his lips curled into a content smile at the view. It was nice....

His mind had been going over the things that had happened earlier that day. So far, it was a pretty easy and restful day; nothing much had happened. Now, his mind turned to other thoughts: specifically, what was going on with Dango? But he still wasn't worried, she was a strong girl; not to mention, she was probably in a very safe situation right now, back at the agency.

A sigh escaped him. He did enjoy the peace and quiet; but, being the social person he was, Knives kind of wished that he had a friend to accompany him in watching the sunset. He had a specific person in mind; but since she wouldn't come, he didn't much care who did....

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Ciara strolls through the trees quietly, nearing the lake she knew was here from the bulletins posted around the school. Though social by nature, she enjoys being alone every once in a while. It helps her gather her thouhts and reinforce the "do no evil" creed that she's imposed on herself after spending too much time solely around her rather nefarious father.

She's dressed, oddly enough, in hiking gear as opposed to her usual outfit. Sturdy boots, khaki shorts, and a solid white T-shirt that, surprisingly, covers her entire stomach. Her hair is also pulled back into a tight, high ponytail so it doesn't catch on quite so many twigs, leaving her face attractively bare.

Breaking through the last bit of brush, she smiles happily when she sees the crystalline surface of the lake. Her smile widens as she notices Knives sitting a little ways away next to the shore. Her first meeting with him was pleasant and she definitely wouldn't mind spending more time with him. Decision made, she approaches Knives, grinning. "Would ye mind a wee bit o' company the evenin', dearie?"

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Knives never forgot a person's scent...especially a pretty, sweet-smelling girl. It wasn't Dango, but company was better than nothing. The crunch of twigs came to his German Sheppard ears, and they twitched a bit; he knew she was approaching. He put on his usual friendly smile, and tilted his head back, to look behind him at her. As he did this, gravity tugged at his longish, curly brown hair, causing it to fall towards the ground and away from his head.

"Would ye mind a wee bit o' company the evenin', dearie?" He nodded happily, head still tilted back so that, as she standed over him, she appeared upside down. "I'd love company. It's kinda boring sitting by yourself sometimes." He lowered his head back to its normal position, and shifted his weight onto one arm. That allowed him to reach out with the other and pat the ground beside him. "Go ahead and take a seat..." He turned his eyes back to the sunset before them, and the lake, where the beautiful reddish-purple light was also reflected from. "It's nice, I love the sunset...especially here..."

After a few moments, he returned his gaze to her. "So, what brings ya out here tonight?" He tilted his head curiously. It wasn't often that people came out here at this time....the lake was generally a place to be during the day, when it was most enjoyable to swim.

"I'd love company. It's kinda boring sitting by yourself sometimes." Nodding in agreement, Ciara kneels next to Knives, resting her weight back against her heels, her palms on the ground in front of her to balance her out. It didn't look very comfortable, but appearances and actuality are not always the same thing.

"It's nice, I love the sunset...especially here..." She nods again, smiling. "'Tis a verra pretty sight, I'llna deny that." It was always one of her favorite activities in the evening once everything else was done for the day: sitting on a high promontory watching the sun set over the land, turning the craigs and heather into different colors before color disappeared altogether into the nighttime darkness.

"So, what brings ya out here tonight?" She cocks her head slightly, turning her attention from the scenery to her companion. "Och, I was jus' oot an' aboot. I saw a bulletin at school describin' this place and thought it sounded like a worthwhile place t' be visitin'." She shrugs casually, giving Knives her patented mischievous smirk. "How aboot yerself?"

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Knives watched as she sat down beside him. He noticed that the position didn't look very comfortable, and he tilted his head at her. But he only commented on it mentally; she obviously knew that she could sit however she wanted, and so there must be a reason she sat that way. Maybe he was wrong and it really was comfortable? He shrugged to himself and returned his eyes to the sunset before them, watching as it began to actually disappear beyond the horizon.

"'Tis a verra pretty sight, I'llna deny that." He nodded and smiled, but didn't look away from the sky. It seemed that the sun was moving fairly quickly into the horizon; the light in the sky was beginning to fade from the pretty reds and purples into the darkness that would come with night. As his blue eyes moved across the sky, he found another sight: a full moon. The dog boy blinked, and then smiled. "Well, it seems that the sunset's almost over....but there's a full moon tonight!" He turned to look at Ciara, giving her a big grin.

"Och, I was jus' oot an' aboot. I saw a bulletin at school describin' this place and thought it sounded like a worthwhile place t' be visitin'." He blinked again. Bulletins for places like a lake? He had yet to see these; and he thought it was a bit funny. After all, some of the big events on campus didn't even have proper advertising....so why would the lake? It didn't matter...he shrugged it off, and answered her next question.

"How aboot yerself?"

"Well, I love the lake." He smiled at her. "I'm here almost every night, if I can. I just usually don't come out here this early....I like to hang out at the lake in the middle of the night, when everyone's asleep, and it's so peaceful."

"Well, it seems that the sunset's almost over....but there's a full moon tonight!" Ciara grins enthusiastically. "Aye, full moons. There's none better." She had often enjoyed a nighttime flight under a full moon, though passers-by that have noticed her flight tended to end up praying to some obscure god or screaming. Part of her had wept at the sound of the screams while a darker part of her had enjoyed them.

"I'm here almost every night, if I can. I just usually don't come out here this early....I like to hang out at the lake in the middle of the night, when everyone's asleep, and it's so peaceful." Note t' self: dinna be flyin' o'er the lake at night, as ye *will* be havin' company. So far Knives has proved to be a worthwhile friend. It would break something inside Ciara to have that friendship end if he found out what she really is in a less than savory fashion.

Pushing her thoughts away from those upsetting ideas, Ciara returns her attention to the almost complete sunset. Shifting position slightly, she leans down and rests her elbows on the grass, cradling her chin in her hands.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
"Aye, full moons. There's none better." Knives nodded. He leaned back on his hands, and watched as the sun continued to set. At this point, it was almost gone. The reddish glow around them had increased immensely, casting its light over everything with much more color than before - the way the sun always did, glowing more and more beautifully until it finally disappeared. His eyes turned to the moon in the sky above them; as the sun disappaered, the moon began to get more and more...well, prominent. "Yeah, I love them." He'd always enjoyed the sight of a full moon at night. Never before had there been an issue with the moon.

Knives turned to look at Ciara. As he grinned at her, there was no doubt she'd begin to think that his fangs were getting longer, and that strange, animalistic twinkle in his eyes wasn't something she'd likely miss. But they were so faint, such subtle differences, she probably wouldn't think on them for too much time at all. "Once the sun goes down...wanna play?"

The dog boy was feeling different. A strange burst of energy flooded through him. He wanted to do something....play a game...give in to his canine side. He breathed out a deep breath, and then pushed himself into a standing position, so that he was standing over Ciara. His form, bathed in that red glow, would cast a threatening feeling over Ciara...nothing more than subtle, but it was sort of a dangerous feeling. Something was different about him, but one wouldn't be able to put their finger on it...not even Knives knew what was going on, nor did he realize there was something different about him right now....

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Ciara's eyes narrowed almost imperceptibly as she noticed the small changes about Knives: his canines growing longer, his gaze becoming less human and more animal. She'd spent the last year in Scotland with her volatile father searching for minute signs that he was about to lash out again. Tiny changes that most people would let go without remark. Knives didn't seem like the violent type, but that didn't stop Ciara from feeling a little uneasy. Her first reaction to feeling threatened was to return the threat, to shed the Glamour and let the opposition know that she was no one to trifle with, but Knives was her friend. Not to mention, he didn't seem to know what was happening.

Well, should something happen, Ciara was not going to let herself be caught unawares. She pushes herself to her feet, taking a nonchalant half step away from Knives in the process. She shifts her Glamour-hidden wings slightly, giving her a little extra balance. If Knives' hearing is acute enough, he can probably hear the membranous material sliding together gently. Ciara sincerely hopes this isn't going to turn into something violent, but her forethoughts are more running toward the weakness of her Glamour. If Knives somehow touches the shield Glamour she has hiding her wings, tail, and horns, the Glamour will dissipate. She's not entirely sure, yet, as to what Knives' reaction would be to seeing her true form.

He also asked if she wanted to play. Playing should be fun, right? After a few quick thoughts, Ciara nods, giving Knives a mischievous smirk. "Aye, we c'n play. Be there any rules?"

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Knives watched as she got up from the ground as well. He smirked as he looked down on her. His smirk was mischeivous, complimenting that twinkle in his eye. As he looked down on her, she would notice that, as the sun continued to set, he seemed to change more and more. His hair became shaggier, thicker. His eyes had the slightest hint of brown mixed in with their deep blue hues. Even his build seemed to grow, gain muscle. But they were all subtle hints, nothing that anyone would think twice about.

Something caught his attention. A sound, one that he had not heard before. One of the dog ear twitched, and his whole body jumped, like a dog taken by surprise. He blinked, his eyes looking around, before turning to her. He tilted his head to the swide, quirking an eyebrow. Somehow, that sound seemed to have come from Ciara. "Uhmmm...did you make that noise?" He quickly shrugged it off, though. He was in a playful mood, and wanted to do something.

The last bit of light played across the sky. The trees that surrounded the lake cast long shadows over the majority of the area. The moon was very prominent. Any moment now, the sun would disappear. And then, it did.

It was just barely dark, but the moon was already out. And that caused a problem...

Suddenly, Knives blinked. A searing pain rushed through his body, and he wrapped his arms around his front, clutching his sides, and let out a loud howl of pain. In this moment, he sounded just like a wild dog. He fell to his knees. But as soon as the pain had come, it also disappeared. Knives looked down at his hands, watching as fur sprouted from his skin, covering his body. His muscles bulked up quickly, tearing his clothes to shreds; but by this time, he was covered in fur, and his body had changed drastically into the form of a very large, heavyset dog.

He hadn't noticed the change to his face. His hair now blended in with the fur on the rest of his body. His face changed shape, grew a muzzle. His eyes turned brown. Everything about him changed; within moments, he was a very large, strong-looking German Sheppard. And the look in his eyes was a mean one.

He sniffed. He looked around. It was obvious that he was no longer himself anymore; in that mind was only instinct, animal behaviors. Once his eyes laid upon Ciara, they narrowed, and he growled...it was a strange being, a person, something the animal didn't recognize as part of the pack. But then her scent caught his attention. It wasn't human, it was strange...and the dog liked it.

Slowly, he approached her. The mean look on his face subsided into a curious one. he sniffed her foot, her leg, walked circles around her. Then, he looked up at her, tilting his head curiously as if to ask what she was. It seemed that his sense of smell had heightened enough that he could actually smell what she was, instead of simply knowing she was different. He seemed to know that she was a demon, and that she might share similar instincts.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Ciara continues watching Knives carefully, the dying light making it almost impossible for her to make out any more changes in his appearance. Still, the combination of what she had seen was still making her uneasy.

She jerks back a step, alarmed by the jump Knives' gave. "Uhmmm...did you make that noise?" Evidently he could hear her wings rustling, as well. She would have to remember to tighten the strap that held her wings close to her body, as well. She should not have been able to move her wings enough for them to make sound. She could already forsee that this was not going to go well.

She opens her mouth to respond but is stopped short when Knives doubles over in pain. Her unease forgotten, she steps toward him, raising her hands to try to help. Trying to help is all but forgotten as soon as she hears him howl. The odd sound forces shivers down Ciara's spine and she wraps her arms around herself, retreating that one step again. Her eyes squeeze shut as she wages an internal battle between bolting back to the school and trying to help her friend through whatever's happening to him.

Opening her eyes, Ciara returns her gaze to Knives just in time to see the fur seem to pour over his hands. She continues watching, wide-eyed, as Knives goes through his transformation into the dog. The hostile look in the dog's eyes didn't help matters any. In the time Ciara would have to take to undo the strap holding her wings shut and vault herself into the air to escape, the dog would already be on her, tearing her to pieces.

The growl issuing from the dog's mouth made her decide quickly. She would not go down without a fight. Letting her arms fall to her sides, Ciara widens her stance slightly and angles herself slightly, a classic fighter's pose. She was not ready, however, for the hostilty to change to curiosity. Watching the dog circle and sniff her but her at ease, her stance relaxing, her muscle tension almost completely fading. She was definitely glad that she wasn't going to hurt or be hurt by a friend.

Ciara extends her hand toward the dog carefully, now interested in the intelligence she sees in his eyes. "Knives? C'n ye understand me?" Intrigue almost totally wins out over her fear. This is, indeed, a singular experience.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
"Knives? C'n ye understand me?"

Knives simply tilted his head sideways again, curiously. He recognized his own name, but at the moment the other words went over his head. Knives was in there, but dog instincts controlled his personality. There was Knives's intelligence, and Knives's personality, but they were controlled by canine needs, wants, and morals.

It was obvious that the power Knives could find in her intrigued him. He didn't sit down, wag his tail, or any of the other things one would have expected him to do. Instead, he took a few steps back. He looked up at her a moment, and then lowered his upper body to the ground, reaching his paws out to the front of him, tail in the air. It was a playful stance, but his tail was barely wagging.

What he wanted was for her to prove that she was to be respected. Any dog, in any pack, will do this: they play with others in the pack in a faux-fight for dominance. And that was just what he was doing: they would fight (more like a spar). If Ciara proved that she had power, then Knives would respect her. Otherwise...well, there was no telling what would happen otherwise.

He gave her a moment to register what was going on. There was no way for him to communicate to her. But when the moment was up, he lunged forward, reaching out with his paws in an attempt to pin her to the ground. He gave no growl, no threatening noises or motions. It was for fun, it was for dominance...it wasn't a real battle.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Drawing back her hand at the less than friendly response, Ciara watches the dog carefully. Having watched dominance displays before, she quickly picks up the clues and reaches under her shirt to undo the buckle of the belt holding her wings in check. Unfortunately, she was too slow to undo the strap. Noticing the dog leap forward, she gasps quietly and decides quickly to let her wings free themselves.

That decided, she braces her feet and snaps her wings outward as hard as possible. A very audible 'snap' is heard as the strap holding her wings snaps near the frame of one wing. She drops her Glamour at the same time her wings reach they're peak span. Pale skin turns to a burnished bronze, purplish-blue hair turns to a silvery white, midnight blue eyes turn a glowing red. Two ivory horns grow from her temples, curving to wicked points just a little above her head. Her membranous wings reach a span of 12 feet, and let's not forget her tail. Unwinding from around her waist, her bifurcated, prehensile tail reaches about 5 feet from it's base just above Ciara's buttocks.

All done in the blink of an eye, Ciara bunches her strong legs under her and launches herself into the sky before the dog can reach her. She hovers about 10 feet off the ground, wings beating strongly to keep herself afloat. She grins at the dog, small fangs showing briefly. "Aye, 'tis a fun game ye chose, Knives."

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
She leapt out of the way of his attack. But that was no problem; he was a wild dog now, and instincts were good tools to use when planning out an attack. As soon as his paws touched the ground, he kicked off again, leaping upwards. Most likely, Ciara would float just out of range of even a very high leap. It was very unlikely that she would expect the immense boost in power that Knives gained in this form; his very strong legs pushed him well above any leap a normal human - or dog, for that matter - could make. He would probably catch her.

This time, his goal was to grasp onto her arm. His muzzle would wrap around it, grasping it hard with the only part of him that could - in this form, he had no thumbs, and his arms were now legs and could not bend to wrap around her. But he wouldn't sink his teeth in...only if she was worthy of a real battle would the dog do anything harmful to her. So far, though, as her form changed, the human intelligence within him told him that she would be very powerful...

As they fell, Knives would roll around to the top, and put all four legs around her. This would place his body atop hers, pressed very close to hers while in the air, his soft fur brushing against her skin. But once they hit the ground, he'd be on top, pinning her down once again.

Of course, if he missed, he'd simply end up on the ground again when he landed, without pinning Ciara.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Ciara snarled quietly as Knives' teeth closed around her arm, dragging her unceremoniously out of the air. Her other hand quickly swung around to grasp his muzzle in an attempt to pry it off her arm. Thudding to the ground with an audible exhalation of air, Ciara panicks for a moment when she realizes that her wings are now trapped under her body weight. As such, her wings are useless to her now. She still attempts to flap them to at least ward the dog off a bit, but she doubts she'll have any luck with the endeavor.

Growling, she decides, instead, to try to flip Knives off of her. Letting go of his muzzle, she reaches between their bodies, bracing her elbow against the ground and her hand against his lower chest, and pushes strongly. The large dog she had as a child never enjoyed being picked up, so it stands to reason that this one might not as well. At any rate, it's worth a shot.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
He'd successfully pinned her. His front paws were pressed against her arms, holding them to the ground, while his lower legs were on either side of her, preventing her lower body from getting anywhere. There was little to no hesitation; he immediately attacked. His mouth let go of her arm, and he bared his teeth and growled. He still didn't seem threatening...rather, it was a sort of serious playfulness.

But then, he moved to attack her throat. His muzzle moved quickly towards it, his mouth opening wide so that he could latch onto that vulnerable area. It wasn't his intent to bite down and kill her; but if he could latch onto her neck, she would know he was the winner.

Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance. He felt her hand on his chest (in his normal, humanoid form, Knives would have understood immediately that he should have moved his paw to pin her arm down better...) and then pressure. He was a heavyset dog, but she was a demon. It was likely she had a decent amount of strength. She was able to push him off of her before he could get a good grip on her throat; he hadn't won yet.

Once off of her, Knvies took a leap backwards, to stand a safe distance away. All four paws spread out across the ground, setting him into a low-centered stance, ready for attack or defense. Again, he bared his teeth and growled at Ciara, his hazel eyes staring straight at her.

And then, again, he lunged. This time, his weapon of choice was not his teeth...it was his claws. From every toe on both hands extended a claw. These were not normal claws of a dog; they were much larger, sharper, and longer than that. They looked very menacing. Especially as he raised them, and then slashed downwards, straight at Ciara. She could dodge; but she had no time to safely make it into the air without the claws leaving their mark.

If she dodged away from him safely, that would mean she would move along the ground. And if that happened, he would chase after her; his paws would hit solid dirt, and then kick off again without hesitation. He would make another lunge in her direction. As long as he moved quick enough, she would not be able to get into the air without taking damage; that was his goal.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Once free of the dog's weight, Ciara regains her feet and crouches down, one hand on the ground and wings spread wide for balance, her tail whipping agitatedly back and forth behind her. At the first sign of Knives' renewed attack, she tucks one wing close to her side and pushes off the ground toward that side, rolling to the side to avoid the attack. Once her roll is complete, she pivots to face the second attack, wings once again fully extended.

Done dodging, Ciara launches herself at Knives as he dives at her a second time. Lowering her head, she bring her horns into play, keeping herself low to the ground so there's no chance of the dog dashing under her. If Knives decides to follow through with the attack, he will more than likely be the first to draw blood, but it won't be by much. With the momemtum behind the attack, Knives would receive some damage of his own unless, by some miracle, he's able to move with lightning rapidity to avoid her horns.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Dodge? Nahh, the thought never came to the dog's mind. But he did see a way around sustaining too much damage; and, in effect, he could gain the upper hand once again. When he saw her horns coming straight at him, he simply moved his head to one side, so that the horns would be driven past it. They would go towards his shoulder. But they wouldn't have the opportunity to pierce him; before the point could reach his skin, Knives turned his head and latched his mouth onto her horns. When his teeth grabbed hold of them, that was when the pain occurred - but simply because the force behind both blows hit, causing just a slight pain in his jaw and probably similar pain at the base of Ciara's horn.

And then, he landed. But he didn't let go. He growled, a continuous rumble coming from within his throat. She could attack, but it would be awkward, having to lean over so her head could remain in his grasp. He had the advantage in this situation. Besides that, in this form, Knives's strength was more than superhuman...he was twice as strong as normal. And that was saying something, as he wasn't your average person in the first place.

His head twitched one way, pulling at her horn, and unless she had superhuman strength, it would pull at the rest of her body. Then, he swung his head back the other way, pulling her back in the other direction very quickly. While his head was still in motion, he tilted it upwards, than swung downwards hard. It would be a stroke of luck for her to be able to avoid what came next....her body would be swung around, even raised up in the air, and then smashed hard back into the ground. All, with unbelievable strength.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Feeling the first sharp pain at the base of her horn should have been a good indication that Ciara was screwed for a moment, and it was. After the first swing of Knives' head, she pulled her wings tight to her body, one hand reaching up to curl around her horn as if that would stop the pain. When the swinging continues, she lets out an extremely high-pitched shriek of pain. Being slammed into the ground doesn't help the pain any.

Having had quite enough, she reaches up with her other hand and attempts to score Knives' muzzle with her claws. She also reaches forward with her tail and tries to wrap it around Knives' rear paw to jerk him off balance. Anything to make him let go will do at this point. He's had the upper hand almost from the get go and she's not enjoying being the losing party of this scuffle.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
A sharp, tearing pain in his muzzle forced the dog to squeal and whimper, letting go immediately of the horn in his mouth. Marks from her claws were left above his nose, were red blood trickled out and ran down his face. He moved to leap away from her; instinct told him that, without his advantage, he needed to get out of the way to regroup and find a new strategy. But she seemed to have caught him off-guard. When he leapt backwards, her tail was wrapped around his leg; and when he reached a certain point in his leap, it tugged at him, causing him to fall off balance and end up on the ground on his side.

Without hesitation, Knives jumped to his feet again, turning to face Ciara. He wasn't as far away as he would have liked to be. But sudden realization had popped into his head. Her tail was around his leg, which meant that she could not have escaped from him during this moment; which meant that her tail was now strung between them: an easy target for the dog.

Knives slashed with his paw, extending long, sharp claws that would tear into the flesh of her tail. She could retract it, but that's what he was hoping: it would free him, and allow him to attack once again. If she did let go of him, he would immediately lunge while she was focused on dodging his first attack. Again, same attack as before, he snarled at her as he leapt through the air, drawing back with one paw, to slash hard at her. Hopefully, he would have caught her before she went airborne.

And if she didn't let go of him...well, she would be in a world of pain. His claws were long and sharp enough that he could tear into the flesh of her tail deeply. And if he hit it just right, he could actually cut straight through her tail....

The battle was heating up; the animal in Knives was having the time of its life. It wanted a real battle; and finally, both of them had stopped warming up, and were really fighting.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
Ciara snarls when Knives leaps again and trips, the sound a mix between a condescending hiss and an aggressive growl. It does her spirit some good to see him on his side instead of his feet for a change.

Watching him carefully, she notices his attention focus on her tail, still coiled tightly around his rear leg. She decides that keeping a modicum of control over her opponent is worth a little pain. As Knives begins his strike, Ciara yanks on his leg again, his attack hitting for only minor damage; similar to the wound she left on his snout. Blood drips in a steady flow from the cuts, causing her to wince. Glad of her tight hold on Knives' leg, she takes the time between strikes to launch herself into the air again. She flies up high enough to pull Knives' off solid ground. He's insanely heavy and, before she loses her grip, she flies as high as possible. She only gets about 25 feet up before the blood loosens her hold on Knives' foot and causes her to drop him.

She hisses and follows him down, not wanting him to be able to regain his balance again.

Re: Watching the Sunset (Ciara)
He fell from the sky; it was unpleasant to have lost the upper hand in this fight, but he could gain it back...As his body plunged downward, his eyes looked around frantically for something to help him out. If he had control over his animalistic nature right now, he would notice that his body weight had shifted her upwards flight path into an angled one, so that they were right next to the shore now. His mind would be able to calculate a way to get into the water quickly, where she would have no power over him due to her wings.

But he didn't think of those things. He simply realized that there were no trees or other objects jutting up from the ground which he could leap off of to help regain his balance quicker. But he did notice that Ciara was following him. This was more of a mistake than anything. He shifted his body weight, leaning to one side so that he could put his feet beneath him.

His feet hit the ground, and even with his immense strength, his knees nearly buckled. But he regained his posture within seconds, leaving enough time for him to lunge sideways, out of the way of Ciara's attack. His feet hit the ground, and he started running, circling around behind the demoness, where he reached out to slash at her back and wings. The whole time, he kept aware of her tail and claws, so that he could dodge if she used them. Then, he ran a few feet away, so that she couldn't counter his most recent attack without coming after him.
