Weeping Willow
High above the water line sits a tall and noble willow tree with leaves of brown and red in the fall and green and yellow in the summer months. She sits proud and still, quietly blessing travelers that pass below her long and wispy leaves. Only the old and untouched know her true purpose, knows why she stays there, silently weeping. If you are quiet and listen closely, I will tell you why she sits there, silently waiting, waiting for someone that may never come.

There was a young girl with flowing auburn hair, long smooth legs, and arms that were soft, yet strong. In long sweeping dresses and flowers, she danced under the full moon as if in a trance. She had a lover of great passion. He had forest brown hair and a voice of lovely resonance. They danced together in water and streams. They danced in the forest and in each other’s dreams. They danced in each other’s arm from night till dawn. Danced lovingly and happily, hands entwined together, fingers entangled. Their hearts beat as one with bodies of two. They were soul mates forever, as it may seem to most.

Far away, jealousy rears its ugly head in the form of a woman with hair raven black and arms braided in the dark of the night with supernatural power. She is not a classic villain but a beautiful gypsy and an enchanting dancer. She went to see a peddler to seek out a potion to hide good lover’s eyes.

The man she bewitched with the flick of a finger burning true lovers hearts with the fire of an ember. Their hands were ripped apart by his growing hatred for her and were soon silently stolen for his new gypsy lover.

The girl, who once could dance stood frozen to the spot of her gone lover’s stance. She stood there forever till her feet took root, her arms became branches and her finger the leaves. Her hollowed out body became a trunk and her face became bark. A permanent picture burned into the tree in a painful tragedy. She has stood their forever, now a tree more then a girl. Her young life was washed away and her soul mate taken by a gypsy of cruel devise. Her young heart was deformed by her lover’s contempt.

To this very day, she stands at that spot over looking the sea, waiting for her lover’s return collecting words, collecting souls. The words that once were spoken and dance that once was danced slowly fade away.

Re: Weeping Willow
I know it's not a "war" story and doesn't have blood and guts and all of that other gruesome stuff that you boys like...hehe...I just can't bring myself to write or draw like that! :)

Nice story Laeena even though I can hear the evil warmongers and tyrants thinking up something testosterone-driven to write in response. About time we got a change of pace around here!

And when you say you can't "write or draw" like that, does this imply that you drew your own sig? If so that is pretty damn good work.

Re: Weeping Willow
This was until now no proper place for in-character roleplaying fiction and stories until now. War Stories was more for retelling of in-game adventures. Thank you for posting it... I enjoyed reading it... and thank you for starting off a new area :)
