Well, it's official.
As a few of you knew, and most of you didn't (I hope!) I was leading a double life. After logging some time in Tunare, I would change servers to Povar, don gold armor, and wield the sparkly Sword of Guidance.
Those days are over now. My time of guiding is at an end, so I should (hopefully) have more time to devote to Tunare, and some of my best friends in the game.
I would like to take this time to thank those who guide on Tunare, and read these boards. Trust me, I know what you go through. Heck, a lot of what you go through makes its way to the Dragons and Planes, and now the Kunark boards. For the tools you are given, you do an extrordinary job, and I salute you.
To the players on Tunare, remember this: guides, although the voice of Verant, do not work for them. They're players, just like you and I. Give them a break, if they tell you that they're not allowed to do something. I know, "just this once"... well, the logs of everything they do are actually read by GMs... and if they read a history of abuse of power (teleporting players around for no good reason, killing mobs in the planes at all, ressing you when the only bug you died to was the Noxious spider), they could lose not only their status as a guide, but also their play account.
Look at what happened to Ozzadyen some time back. Because he fought with players in the arena, and gave them a good gaming experience, he was forced to leave, and his play characters suspended.
So, give them a break.
Your friend, and comrade in arms,
Kredal Greasebeard Cookiegnomie of Tunare
