Allah tells us in 15:29 that, "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My Spirit..." There is also a Hadith wherein Muhammad tells us that the soul is breathed into the developing fetus after a period of three times forty days (120 days in total). Up until that time it develops as an animal develops and that the breathing in of the Spirit of Allah is what differentiates it from the rest of Allah's creation. What is this form prior to the breathing in of Allah's spirit? What is this that exists for the first 120 days?
