What you needed to bag Ragebringer
The purpose for this thread is for people to look at what other Rogues bagged Rage in favor of, to determine when they can do it themselves.
PLEASE, DON'T ASK QUESTIONS HERE. This isn't the "bagging Rage" Q&A thread.
I do invite you to post results of DPS parses. Parses comparing Rage in off vs the new non-Rage offhand are exceptionally welcome. Dicussions related to those parses are not.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
I did some parsing tonight...against a 65's earth pet, unbuffed. Full access to backstabs using the mage /pet hold command. Buffs were: enchanter haste, 48% and max'd str.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
how long were those parses? the info looks good except for the differences in accuracy. any fluctuation that big makes it look like a small parse.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
about 10 minutes. That's as long as the mage could keep up the healing in a duel without going OOM. I can't explain the accuracy issue. I do recall having a ton of missed backstabs and 2-3 rounds worth of missing the pet several times, followed by a quad having 2-3 rounds where things missed again. I was doing a bit of moving around on that particular one, kept pushing the pet. Before anyone asks, there were never any out of range or you are unable to see your target. Without a parse mob, this is the best I can do to get a baseline to compare. I know the mobs level hasn't changed and there are no spells on it. The bad part is, unless I go to an arena I can't have a cleric heal the pet.
Was doing parses to see what effect it would have bag the epic in favor of simply enchanter haste and shammy buffs. Not that I plan on doing that, just wanted a good base for further testing on different weapons. Will do some testing tonight with rage mainhanded and trueborn offhand. Since they are both 15 damage and I had forgotten to parse that combo. I'll do some testing with my 30% haste item and the trueborn main/shank offhand and see how it comes out. I'll also put in some parse numbers for the runebladed dagger in various config's. The primary reason for these tests is on encounters where I can't use the shank.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
it's accurate...The 16 damage on the shank, just like the 17 damage from the garg talon do not tend to show good DPS numbers until a much higher ATK value. At ~1400 ATK, the shank and garg talon don't tend to show off the super high numbers you'd expect. I'm going to run some more parses and paste the numbers here...So far, I see no logical reason to bag the epic with either the shank or garg talon at my current ATK amount.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
I'm not to concerned with DPS results here showing the true damage output of any of the weapons. I am determining if any combo of trueborn dirk of the dark, runebladed dagger, shank and garg talon would allow bagging of the epic in favor of any two of them. The answer for me being a pre elemental and pre ssra rogue so far has been no.
I understand that 10 minutes isn't a super long time period but I don't have access to a parse mob and the mage can only hold out her mana for about that long and I kill the pet. 10 minutes is approx. 60 backstab attempts and that's why I pasted the accuracy results in there.

It still makes no sense. A 16/21 with Ragebringer off hand vs. a 15/21 with Ragebringer off hand is not gonna be a 28 DPS difference in favor of the 15/21.
The rule about higher ATK applies to comparing a Gargoyle Talon (for instance) to a weapon with a better ratio, but lower damage, not to two weapons with the same delay, one of which should obviously outperform the other.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
I'll run the parse again and see what I come up with. I'll see if I can get a cleric and mage to come venture over to the lake rathe zone arena with me so I can test it with no lag or people attempting to "chime in" with a harm touch. If memory serves me correctly the cleric should be able to cheal the pet as long as we are all in the arena. I'll post my results, probably on Monday as I shouldn't be on tomorrow at all.
Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
I am considering bagging Rage in favor of 36% back haste (CoCW) and 16/21 WS and 16/21 Bloodbath... my atk is definitely over 1400 on raids, however in everday life, it may be below the magic 1300 number.
any thoughts?
(However, the dot on WS is starting to annoy me when trying to use Escape.)

Re: Sticky please: BAGGING RAGEBRINGER
I'm approaching this point myself, sticky would be cool.....
Now teh questions, I'm looking at either the Trueborn, or the Curse-Smelted Long blade from Guk LDON merchants. 14/19 with a type 6 slot so 16/19.
My real question is does the Trueborn's +5% to backstab stack with my MDoD's +9% backstab, which would lean me in that direction over the 2300 point long blade.
My other other question is the long blade, anyone know what the graphic looks like? Someone said Bloodfrenzy, cant remember what that looks like though.....description por favore!

To answer one question: I am pretty sure (but not positive) that it only counts the backstab mod on your main hand and ignores your offhand one.
Although I am curious if you had no bs mod in your main hand and one in your off hand if it would use that? But like mods for picklock and stuff don't stack, you can't have the +lockpick gloves AND the +lockpick lockpicks... this is'nt as big of an issue since we almost all max lock pick and hardly anything needs over our 210 number.
Re: A parse I did
if your only able to do a 10 min phrase your going to have to do at least three to five 10 min phrases for each set up, then take the adverage numbers for a final, and hopefully more accurate conclusion. most phrases arent even considered reliable if they are under 1 hour.
