Would Hyrise have done any better?
For those of you who remember the "Making Your Mind Up" competition which James Fox won, you might remember a boy-band called Hyrise.

I thought they had a nice catchy song and am interested to know if people think they would have fared any better.

I have nothing against James Fox but i thought the song was very poor.

Any thoughts?

None of our potential songs put forward were good enough to win.

Agreed. They were more shaggable but I seem to recall they mimed at Making Your Mind Up.
Not a good sign.

Given that we're never going to win again, we might as well go for the totty option. At least it's something to watch.

How can anyone say we'll never win again?
With the shite we've put forward these past few years we'll never know.

All the political & 'balkan block' excuses are just glossing over the fact that we pick shit songs/singers

In all fairness though Phil, while you are right that we have put up some pretty dire entrants, most of them haven't been appreciably worse than the songs which beat them, and even Jessica Garlick, who was pretty good, and much better than the others that year, didn't win.
