I'll be performing a reading at CONFLUENCE in Pittsburgh on Sunday 1pm. Doubt anyone reading this will be able to make it, but I thought it prudent to post the news anyway, just in case. For more info on Confluence, visit: trfn.clpgh.org/parsec/conflu/index.html

E-Anthology Released: Switch.Blade
[Thought I'd share this press release -- my twisted story, "Flunking the Assassin," appears in it (the anthology actually debuts Monday at Fictionwise.com). The next edition will feature Halloween stories. I recommend fictionwise.com to anyone reading this who has a handheld computer. They released my collection, FLUID MOSAIC, as an e-book recently, too.]

Arnzen's "Take Out"
If you like Mike's bizarre poetry, you'll love his contribution to magazine minima mentioned two entries ago. After reading his short but potently descriptive contribution, "Take Out," you will never look at pizza quite the same again. Check it out.
NOTE TO SURFERS: magazine minima is a Flash ezine. You have to wait until the the entire issue loads before viewing.

also...
Thanks demonboy, for that devilish nod of support! Are you trying to corrupt pizza lovers everywhere?!
I recommend Susanna Breslin's and D. Harlan Wilson's pieces at minimamagazine.com, too -- nice little numbers. What a great mag. I'm inspired to do my own flash animated poetry now -- stay tuned to www.gorelets.com for the results of my experiments!

secret's out: disco inferno
Well, the secret's out: I've posted a strange multimedia e-poem on my website at www.gorelets.com and no one has told me it sucks yet. So I'm going with that. It doesn't suck. Here's the link:
TURN ON your computer speakers first, folks... and put on your dancing shoes.

last chance to get postcard action
I'm closing down the weekly postcard option to gorelets.com sometime within the next week. So if you want a piece of that collectible action, get over to gorelets.com right away! For $8 you can get the remaining postcards in the series + access to the gorelets archive.
After that, if you want to read the poems you'll have to wait until the book comes out from Fairwood Press in 2003!

WIRED and RADIATED
Hey all,
Did you catch WIRED NEWS today? They ran a piece by MJ Rose which featured my site, gorelets.com. It's in the culture section, in a piece called "Roses are Red, Your PDA's Dead":
Also: there's a strong likelihood I'll be on the radio tomorrow (8/7/02) circa 8pm EST. Visit www.culturelover.com/ or www.kdvs.org/ for more info and/or a live audio stream over the net!

gorelets.com anniversary
My poetry experiment at gorelets.com is coming to an end this week. I can't believe I've published a poem a week for a whole year and received so much great feedback and support. And I'm excited that Fairwood Press www.fairwoodpress.com will be publishing the collection next year.
I hope to continue broadcasting new work to subscribers via PDA (but not as often -- and not on postcard anymore) over the coming year, since I seem to still be getting subscribers and donations, even with only one poem left in the series. So feel free to get your free subscription at www.gorelets.com

two fictionwise stories
2 new short stories went online at Fictionwise.com today:
"Counterpoint" -- about a man who tries a radical technique to get over his fear of needles....
and
"Marked" -- one of my earliest biker stories, originally appearing in OUTLAW BIKER TATTOO REVIEW, about an artist on the run from a gov't censor who keeps her art alive in flesh...
p.s.
Did you catch my review of Kurt Newton's book in HELLNOTES this week? If not, order hellnotes at www.hellnotes.com

I want to encourage readers to drop by my homepage, www.gorelets.com tonight, and subscribe to my tri-weekly e-mail (or Mazingo) newsletter. The premiere issue is going to launch VERY soon. It won't just be filled with news of new publication releases. It'll also have original miniarticles, microfiction, short poems, and all sorts of odd little tidbits of interest to horror readers, from strange websites to bizarre quotes.
Check it out. The worst that could happen is that you have to unsubscribe!

thanks!
Thanks, Mikey! Yes, Travolta has a dark side. (Scientology's dark side...hmmm...). I think all Disco is creepy. Hell is polyester chafing.
Thanks for subscribing to my newsletter folks! It launches tonight (9/26). It'll include some special things, including a link to more multimedia pieces like "Disco Inferno".
Cheers,
