brains and books
...and a bowl of charmed monkey brains makes up a meal that'll conjure dead teenage gorillas to do your bidding. (And it's also fortfied with 10 vitamins and iron!)

Just re-read PSYCHO HUNTER'S CASEBOOK. Congrats to Randy and DVP for launching with a real high-quality production (the glossy cover on the trade edition just plumb FEELS good in the hands), and to Kurt for creating a work that is truly original and stands up to multiple re-readings.

I've had a really good writing week for me. In the past seven days, I've placed pieces in Dark Animus, Decompositions, Flashquake, Flesh & Blood, and potentially 2 special books that I'm sworn to secrecy about. I hate to use cliches, but when it rains, it certainly pours.

Sounds like a good week. Of course, getting new Arnzen is always a good week for me. I'll be on the lookout for that material. So when ya gonna tell us about them books?

Hey Mikey!

I can't say anything about them. Or maybe I can. One's a novel; the other's an antho sale. Both are simply pending contracts.

Just today placed a story in an anthology called SCARY! Holiday Tales to Make You Scream. Keep eyes on double-dragon-ebooks.com/ in 2003 for that release. I also be in their CEMETERY POETS hardback anthology in March. That's a doozie, with something like 10 to 20 pieces (vignettes, poems, and "fridge magnet poems" where every contributor shared the same word set) by every poet inside.

Goreletter #4 went out two days ago. I'm still amazed that it's garnering such high interest and even a Stoker rec or two. If anyone out there in cyberspace wants one, or wants to subscribe, just e-mail me at arnzen@gorelets.com and I'll provide. No questions asked.

gang of four
Hmm...for some reason these dark boards chewed up my response. Damn. As I was saying...

The Gang of Four rule. Whether we're talking about that cranky Marxist post-punk band or my old buddies from, well, from the hood!

Do they appear in my writing? Only inasmuch as I myself am. Which is to say, never directly. I don't like to use real people in my writing...might upset someone who is close to me. Or get sued. Or ruin the memory by turning it into fiction.

Darkmunky: Are you an old friend? If so, long time no see. Feel free to write me at gorelets@gorelets.com, but be forewarned: I'm a TERRIBLE correspondent and an even worse pen pal. Still -- I'd love to hear from ya and catch up.
