Happy New Year II
OOC: I think it's about time for a new thread soon!

oh yeah and I forgot to tell you all that Cait-chan (Jennacy) told me to tell you all that she had to leave.

I don't care how many anime tapes you've watched, how many Japanese girlfriends you've had, or books you've read, You don't know Japanese. Not only that, majoring in the godforsaken language is NOT fun or even remotely sensible. Iraqi war prisoners are often forced to major in Japanese. The term "Holocaust" comes from the Latin roots "Holi" and "Causm", meaning "to major in Japanese" ... You get the idea.Japanese grammer is not for the faint of heart or weak of mind. What's more, the Japanese also do not have any words for "me", "them", "him, or "her" that anyone could use without being incredibly insulting (the Japanese word for "you", for example, when written in kanji, translates to"I hope a monkey scratches your face off"). Because of this, the sentence "He just killed her!" and "I just killed her!" sound exactly the same, meaning that most people in Japan have no idea what is going on around them at any given moment. You are supposed to figure these things out from the "context", which is a German word meaning "you're screwed".

... And that's Skittle Sama's Japanese lesson for today. Class dismissed!

Re: Happy New Year II
ooc - Perfect timing! *Prepares to torture Izzy, Tai, amd Matt with the the often dreaded dance event!*

bic:

Kelli tones the music down a little, "Okay guys... we're gonna throw a quick couples only at'cha... here's something I wrote just before I came to Japan, and learned about all of this. I hope ya like it... and remember ladies, be you digi or not, grab your man and get him on the floor before the lyrics start!"

((Think of the music as a cross between Jazz and Techno, using a lot of bass, electric guitar and backbeat, but also piano and saxophone. It's a slower beat, and obviously a couples dance.))

I tried to understand you
You tried to make me see
But the damage has been done now
And the fallout's plain to me

I guess it's no more mystery
You knew that I can't lie
I told you that I loved you
You turned and said 'Goodbye'

Were you scared, or was it me
Am I wrong, or won't you see?
I know that look, it's in your eyes
I hear your dreams, every night.

((Chorus - The music kicks up to something close to a hard rock beat.))

You want to be free!
You want the sky!
Just let me follow
A glimmer in your eye

You have to face the fire!
You need to be strong!
Don't let me be wrong
A glimmer in your eye

I wake up every morning
And it's your face I see
I reached out there to touch you
It shattered right before me

You told me not to look back
You asked me to never cry
But these tears left unspoken
Wilt my heart and let it die

You want to be free!
You want the sky!
Just let me follow
A glimmer in your eye

You have to face the fire!
You need to be strong!
Don't let me be wrong
A glimmer in your eye

Today you came home
came knocking on my door
I came, and you hugged me
Left me wishing I had more

And then I looked up to you
and in you eyes I see
A glimmer of the faithful
the glimmer that is me.

You had to be free!
You had the sky!
You let me follow
A glimmer in your eye

You faced down the fire!
You showed to be strong!
Wouldn't let me be wrong
A glimmer in your eye...

A glimmer in your eye...

((fade back into more upbeat, regular dance music after that))

Hehe. Hey, Pansie, you can slow-dance by yourself. Look at Veemon

*Veemon is on the dance floor acting as if he's slow dancing with someone....most likely imagining Gatomon*

ooc - Yes, Skittle, you can call me Ghost. Most of my friends do, anyways. Even in RL, when I meet those few that live nearby, they slip up and call me Ghost.

But you can call me LITTLE WASHU!!!... umm.... nevermind...

Milachi:
*Frowns* Try not to look so still, Izzy. Move a little. You look like a wooden board.

Izzy:
I'm sorry, but you know that I'm used to this type of exposure.

Milachi:
Remember, I may be a computer nerd, but I still have a fun side to me. Don't be so serious. *She continues to try to get him to dance, but fails, but then an idea hits her* You remember playing DDR with me, right Izzy?

Izzy:
I believe so. Wasn't that that prodigious looking game you played at the arcades, then we went out and bought it?

Milachi:
Yeah, that's the one. Do you remember the moves to the songs? You played it an awful lot. I thought you were really good at it.

Izzy:
*blush* Well I...sort of remember what the steps were. Why do you ask?

Milachi:
Do remember the steps to the song "Dynamite Rave"? I think this could actually work! Milachi, you're a genious!

Izzy:
*Moves his feet a couple fo steps* The one that goes like that?

Milachi:
Yes! That's it! Exactly! Try doing those steps to the song on the count of three ... ready?

Izzy:
I think so...

Milachi:
Okay...1.....2.....3!

*At once they both start doing the moves perfectly in unison even the spins and the 1/8 beats steps to the techno dance song that was blasting over the speakers. Izzy smiles, actually getting how to do this "dancing" thing after all*
