Re: the ruins of nirvus
She smiled as they headed for the ruins. She was glad that he had decided to take her along for the trip--even if she must supress her magic. If she could help him out, it was reason enough to keep her power at bay. It would only be a day or so, by the looks of how far they had to walk to reach the outskirts of the destruction.

"I understand. I won't leave you here.."

Re: the ruins of nirvus
they walked in silence for about 5 hours before kain stopped, looking around them slowly. there was a rather large chunk of the ruins nearby, and he pointed over at it

"we can rest there....we only have an hour of sunlight left. a day is only 14 hours here"

Kay nodded and turned towards the... ruinous chunk... thing... (ooc - I'm not knowing what to call this thing, sorry..)

"If you are tired, then rest, Kain. I want to have a bit of a look around before turning in..."

Re: the ruins of nirvus
Kay smiled and set out on her own, stopping a good distance away from the... tower. She looked back, seeing Kain sitting by it a little ways away. Far enough, she decided, for him not to see clearly what she was doing.

She had been curious, as to what kept this place free of magic. Kain had told her, it was because of another mage, and the damage he wrought to this sacred place... but she wondered how this place worked. How it could so greatly hamper her magic, and her psyche.

A small, dim ball of light floated in her palm. The fire, seemingly weakened by the anti-magic surrounding Nirvus, flared up as she willed it to life. She frowned, studying the flames for a long while, lost in thought.

Re: the ruins of nirvus
kay felt a strange presence behind her.....very strange. it wasnt human, animal, or even a spirit....it was something that should not have existed in Nirvus. what she felt was the presence of an ancient dragon

OOC - *grins and puggles to ancient dragon* CUUUUUTE!!!

IC -

Kay turned, sensing the presence of something.. rather unusual--something that definately seemed very out of place. It had gotten dark since she had left to "explore", so she had a bit of difficulty finding what she felt was near her. The liquid flame in her palm evaporated as she tried to make out what was in front of her. Something inside her said it was a dragon.... but she wasn't sure.

Re: the ruins of nirvus
all that was behind her was a weird presence....it looked like a shimmering in the air, but she couldnt actualy see the dragon. a pair of shimmering green eyes hovered in the air, each about 6 feet acrost. if the dragon decided to enter Nirvus, it was probobly massive. she heard a voice in her head

what is one of your type doing in this hallowed ground.....your kind is no longer welcome here

Re: the ruins of nirvus
Kay growled back at the pair of glowing eyes, not betraying the sudden spark of fear she felt within her. Of all the dragons, none were this big. Of all the clans she knew, even including the Magi-dragons, and the Great One himself, none could successfully use their psyche.

None could speak directly to her mind, save maybe her guardian. But this was not he...

"What exactly do you classify as 'my kind', spirit?"

you are a user of the mystic arts, you are not welcome in this world

she could hear a chuckle, but it was outside her mind now, and a lot softer then she could have thought a dragon his size could produce

and i am much more then a spirit. this form is simply comfortable

She frowned at the dragon thing again. Now, she was just a little bit more confused than she liked.. She avoided his rather brash insults on her magehood, avoiding his question, too.

"My mistake. What should I refer to you as, then?"

Kay scoffed.

"I have a few names that come to mind. How about something I can really call you. I need not your true name. Just... anything. Then, maybe, we can discuss my business in being here."

She shook her head, annoyed with the name he had given her. Mage spawn. She would have snorted fire, were she able. But still... something was oddly familiar with the name he had given. She shrugged it off, assuming that he had simply used the first draconic name he could think of. Maybe just to shut her up and make her answer his question..

"Very well, Balthazar. I have came here in aid of a friend. This mage spawn means no harm to Nirvus."

Re: the ruins of nirvus
She sensed the dragon's annoyance, yes. But whether she really cared or not was a different matter. She glared at the pair of huge, glowing eyes. She was not mage spawn. If she was even to consider herself "spawn", it would not be of the mage variety...

"I told you who I am here with. A friend."

the shimmering in the air got a lot faster, and she thought she saw a glimpse of a silverish color

you had better take your friend, and yourself, and get out of Nirvus right now. there are no longer any beings who reside here, not since the plainswalker destroyed this world. There is no treasure to plunder, nothing of value to steal. now leave, you are defiling sacred grounds

She growled in anger. She didn't care who this dragon was--there was a certain boundary noone must cross, in her mind. He was getting aweful close to that boundary..

"We are not here to plunder, you foolish creature. We are not theives. And we mean no harm, being here. I have touched nothing, I have defiled nothing."
