Nikke didn't speka for a while, but for once, at least to him, the silence was somewhat comfortable. "... I just lvoe people anyway. I.. I don't know. I don't I, uh.. I ever.. got over my mother leaving, really. My dad's all.. all I have...." Looking around, he smiled and walked across another street. There was a park, ehading own the path to the rose garden in the center. "We're almost there...."He just smiled, never really looking directly at her. So she probably woudln't mourn him if anything happened. Made him feel better. he didn't want people to be in pain if he left.... and all he'd had to worry about as his father before, and the old man didn't care... not really, not in the long run. "There...."

"Well, yeah, there IS the rose garden. I'd forgotten about it." A soft laugh, something she might have imagined. "Sure. When we're done I'll take you to the rose garden. Any other stuff you want to see, too. Although.. sometimes I get lost, so..." He shrugged and finished his sandwich. "So sometimes we might have a problem if you really want to traipse all voer the cou... countryside with me." "My grandmother told me once, before she died,. that stars were really people. They just made tghenmselves look like balls of burning flame to keep us off track. They're really the moon's daughters." In fact, he gripped hers back, gesutantly, very much aware of their fingers interlocked. He cleared his throat and tohught. "Well, see, I... I uhm... I like people. They may hurt stuff but everybody's got some ebauty in them... some good..." He tilted his head. "Yeah.... I always liked rain."
