The end of This Way Up.
If you didn't get the E-Mail I sent out to every member, well then here it is.

Hello everybody, this is Dirk Amoeba, also known as Banana Boy. I'm sure you all remember me, and if you don't, then hello.
The reason you are getting this E-Mail is that you are, or once were, a member of This Way Up, the fanfiction community that we all moved to once Pojo removed their fandom-specific fic boards.
Since last summer, the forums have slowed down to the point where they now average about one o two posts per week.I felt that if Dashie would return and appoint new mods and Admins to run the place, it would pick up.
Sad to say, it did not. We lacked new interest to keep it running after veterans left, and nobody wrote anything, and nobody replied to anything. Dashie appointed me an Admin, basically leaving me in charge of the whole operation from then on. The whole thing continued to go downhill, and I cant help but feel that I'm partially to blame.
The truth is, we all are. And, since I don't want anyone to feel guilty about it, come May I plan to close down all of the forums on TWU forever. If you simply don't care anymore, I respect that. Stop reading now, because I'm going to elaborate on what will be happening.
The forums will remain open for fanfiction and fanart until May, when I will lock all forums so that only Admins and mods can post in them. And believe me-- none will. So, this will effectively eliminate the forum for good.
However, I will leave one topic open for the remainder of time: The This Way Up farewell topic. If you ever feel the need to drop by and say something to the dead board, in hopes that fellow members will ever return, that will be your opportunity to do just that.
You have no idea how hard it is for me to announce this. A decent chunk of my life happened on TWU and on Pjo before it, and although I'll be sad to see it go, nothing goes on forever.
I hope to see some of you around on other forums, and I invite you to pop over to This Way Up, just for old times' sake.
what happened here? Where's all the posts we had after this site closed down? Did somebody delete it all?

Nope, nothing was deleted, masf. I think Dirk told me there was a hacker, or something, on the whole of ezboard. Apparently the only damage to TWUp was that this thread lost all of it's replies. Odd, though probably because this was the only open thread anyway.
Anyway, since everything is *gone*, I'm going to post my contact information for anyone who wants it/semi-cares/wants to add it to thier buddylists to have one more name than before, ergo making them appear more popular.

The entire ezboard network was attacked in a massive hack. The only reason most of TWU survived was because most of the forums had been completely inactive for over a year.
I always stop by...
I always stop by here toward the end of every school year (around Easter) to see if there are ever any more posts. I know the chances of there being something is so improbable that I don't usually get my hopes up. But every once in a while when I stop by and see the community we had here, it almost makes me cry a little.
We really had something special at this site and back on Pojo. I've never been a part of a community quite like it and I doubt I ever will be.
I still write occassionally, but I've moved on from pokemon. My most recent PokeFic fell flat, so I doubt I'll ever be back there again. But I still write some things from my old universe in hopes that one day there'll be an audience for them and I can direct others to great fics on this site as well.
I hope you're all doing well. If you have AIM, drop me a line sometime; I'm almost always on. It shouldn't be too hard to find. its on PokeGym if you're ever there anymore and on the front page of my Card Shop @ pojo. I hope to hear from someone soon. I miss so many of you so much...
