True, but given that we have a system of international law that we expect others to abide by, we really ought to either abide by it ourselves (perhaps whilst trying to make it more sensible and workable), or just outright say that we think it's a crock of shit and we're not playing that game any more .

Isn't it time someone "liberated" the people of the good old USA. I'm fairly sure they have weapons of mass destruction and an unstable leader who invades other countries for his own gain (ahem oil ahem). I'm sure America is a country crying out for regime change.

I don't think the world is a safer place to be - but that doesn't mean the war against terrorism shouldn't be waged.
What should we do - succumb to extremist point of views. I'm damn sure that this web site for one wouldn't exist if a fundamentalist (be that islamic, christian or other) regime existed in this country. (UK)
Democracy may not be the nirvana politicians often wish it to be but I'd rather have a democracy (yes, even Bush's half baked one) than a dictatorship or a religious theocracy.

That's dumb. You been to agony recently? Plus a slug cannot be labotomised as this requires frontal lobes. I know my knowledge of the neurology of the slug isn't too good but I'm certain they don't have them.
Also wit implies quickness of thinking not quality. So those that think quick would assume it's untrue but those that thought correctly wouldn't?

lobotomy is merely the removal of lobes. in the case of humans it rends to be the frontal lobes, but theoretically it can be any lobes. therefore, as long as a slug's brain has one or more lobes, it could theoretically be lobotomised. whether or not it would survive the procedure is another matter.

Slugs only seem to have one set of lobes (after a quick 5 minutes searching), probably because lobes just describe the shape (not any function). These ones are olfactory. Strange that something that cannot smell something wrong would be unable to detect Bush being the biggest terrorist in the modern world. A guy who flouts international law with great impunity and takes it upon himself to police the world regarding dictators despite many actually being put in power by America. Plus when you include his complete ignorance of environmental treaties and when his ideas of foreign polices is what he's going to do with Hawai you get quite an unsafe world now. Who was it that said "Now that it's a global village it was inevitable that by chance the village idiot would be made in charge". And now thankfully we're on topic again.

so called "international law" is a load of tosh. It is created by a load of lawyers and wishy washy idiots and has no background in any body with a democratic mandate.
All this stuff about America supported the dictators in the past is bollocks. Are you really suggesting that people (or countries) should not be allowed to try and put right their mistakes, or even the mistakes of their predecessors. That's fucked up.
When you say about environmental treaties, I assume you are talking about Kyoto. Apart from the fact that it was a crap treaty which set arbitrary targets and no means of achieving them, it had been rejected by the senate (while Clinton was still president) by 99 votes to 0, so even if Bush had been stupid enough to want to sign it he couldn't have.
