Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have resurrected their acrimonious relationship, following a series of mutual insults in recent interviews.
Spears and Aguilera, who have been on-off friends since childhood, were thought to have made-up following their well-publicised 'kiss' at last year's MTV Music Video Awards.
However, the gloves are back on, after Aguilera claimed Britney was "desperate" for support and had lost her way in recent years.
Following their performance at the MTV show, Aguilera told Blender magazine's December issue: "She seemed very distant, even during rehearsals...She seems to me like a lost little girl, someone who desperately needs guidance."
Spears, 22, has responded in the January issue, saying that the first time the pair saw each other in two years, Aguilera tried to "put her tongue down my throat!"
"I say, 'It's good to see you,' and she goes, 'Well, you're not being real with me.' I was like, 'Well, Christina, what's your definition of real? Going up to girls and kissing them after you haven't seen them for two years?'"
"A lost girl? I think it's probably the other way around," claimed Spears.

LAS VEGAS - Pop star Britney Spears (news) marched down the aisle in Las Vegas on Saturday, marrying a childhood friend from Louisiana, according to news reports.
The 22-year-old diva married Jason Allen Alexander early Saturday at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, according to People.com, the online arm of the Time Warner publication. He is from Kentwood, La., it said.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported on its Web site that Spears and Alexander, 22, were granted a marriage license, citing an affidavit of Application for Marriage License filed Jan. 3.
Calls to Spears' representatives were not immediately returned.
The bride wore jeans and baseball cap, according to People.com, and had a hotel bellman walk her down the aisle.
People.com reported that Spears and Alexander journeyed to the Little White Wedding Chapel after a stop at the Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel. It reported that the chapel staff told the couple that they couldn't get married without a license, so they were reportedly taken by the limo to the Clark County Marriage Bureau office in the downtown Las Vegas courthouse. They applied for and were granted the marriage license, then driven back to the chapel, where they were married.
Spears released her fourth album "In the Zone" in November. It debuted at the top of the album charts. She begins a concert tour March 2 in San Diego.

How can you 'lose respect' for Britney for this?
1 - I don't personally believe anyone would pretend to get married for publicity, because it doesn't make any sense...
2 - And if it IS a super-cynical stunt to get some attention, it really wouldn't be much of a change in approach for Britney (or at least her management). Her comeback seems to have been built on a series of ridiculous non-stories designed to produce eye-catching headlines, which if you ask me have no effect (positive or negative) on her actual sales. If this is going to make you lose respect, however did you get any in the first place?

Britney Spears has annulled a 'stunt' marriage ceremony that she underwent in Las Vegas with childhood friend Jason Alexander.
News that Spears had exchanged vows emerged yesterday (January 4) on people.com, the website of People magazine.
It was understood that the pop superstar had wedded her 22-year-old friend at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas after partying at Palms Casino Hotel.
Wearing jeans and a baseball cap, Spears was walked down the aisle by a hotel barman following a high-speed limo trip to obtain a marriage license.
However, friends claim that the wedding was a joke that was taken too far by the pair and that they immediately signed an annulment after the ceremony in the presence of lawyers.
Alexander's grandfather, Robert Alexander, refused to shed any light on his grandson's version of events.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "He'd been through a lot. We picked him up in New Orleans coming back and he didn't have much to say. I wish them well. Whatever happens, happens."
Palms Casino owner George Maloof confirmed that Britney had been at his hotel and that the wedding ceremony had gone ahead at around 5.30am on Saturday.
"Nobody knew it was coming," he said, adding that reports that the singer was out of control were greatly exaggerated.
"I was with her the whole night," he said. "None of those reports were accurate. She was just having a good time."

Jive Records have released a terse statement explaining that Britney Spears got married in Las Vegas at the weekend for "a joke".
Britney's label issued the statement 48 hours after the pop princess tied the knot with childhood friend Jason Alexander, 22, in the wake of a debauched night in the party capital.
The statement from Jive reads as follows: "On January 3rd, Britney Spears and a friend took a joke too far by getting married.
"Ms. Spears and Mr. Alexander have filed for an annulment which will become official on Monday, January 5th."
Meanwhile, Alexander's father Dennis has told the New York Post he's not surprised Britney married his son, despite the ridiculous nature of their rather brief union.
"He takes real good care of himself because he's a sportsman, and I guess the girls like that," said Britney's momentary father-in-law.
