We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

NEW Power Upgrades Thread-Read Main Post 1st-Updated 02FEB07
First and foremost. Before doing anything with your powers/abilities Make sure that the majority of your posts are for rping. Otherwise we will purposely delay approval untill we think you have roleplayed enough.
Don't nag us, the staff, about checking here. If you do, we will ignore your request untill we see fit.
Also, read over the rules. They get updated everyonce in awhile, or it may be that you haven't read them in so long that you may have forgotten one or two. Because if you are doing something on the board that shows you aren't following the rules, we won't follow up on the request.
Also, this is a very important thing to point out. If we think you haven't read this part we won't even comment on your ability/power, we will simply tell you to just read over the rules, this part is considered a rule.

Also, after your post has been commented on, please do not edit it. Repost what your request and change in the new post what needs to be edited. It becomes to difficult to go searching for the post that had your power, especially if it is three pages back. If you just edit your original post, it could be lost, and your request might be forgotten.
Note: If you decide that you are wanting a new power for your character, it will be weak. As though it were a new power for a starting character. It is a new power so ofcourse you are not going to be advanced in its usage. Afterwards you may upgrade your skill with it like with any other power/ability.

If you have a character that is able to use such powers that are named above, or any that are similar. Your character is not automatically able to sense such things. If you wish for your character to be able to do so, you must request that as a power/ability in its own right.

When having new powers, if it has anything to do with transformation every aspect of it that can be considered super natural is used in a power upgrade. For example, if someone were to somehow become a were-wolf.
: Changing into the were wolf is one power upgrade.
: The supernatural strength is a power upgrade,
: It's supernatural speed is an upgrade
: etc, etc. You get the picture.
To have an ability with multiple aspects, this would be considered an advanced power. Just don't ask for it immediately. Wait untill you have the requisite number of posts to have all the aspects of it accounted for before requesting it.
Word to the wise though, before you start saving up your upgrades, talk to an admin and explain to them why a werewolf (for the example) would make sense. Something like this needs to be a cooperating project between an admin and the creator.

There's a new requirement for new powers. All powers currently being requested at this time are on hold untill you have read the new requirements. To show that you have done so, simply click edit your current post for your requested power and don't change anything. We will see the time stamp to show you have done so and we will reply to it only after seeing that time stamp.

Want to know a way to allow your powers/abilities/weapons form being delayed? Don't use catch all terms, as those are garaunteed to make your power to powerful. There always has to be room for a something. So words such as follows are not permitted when explaining a power/ablity/weapon;
anything, everything, nothing, etc etc...
Weapons and armor are different things, so if you want a new power that grants you an armor, it is not going to be an upgrade from a previous power that granted a weapon.
Strength, Speed, and all other physical increases due to a power, are all seperate. They can not be received all, or in groups through a power, each one has to be asked for or gained seperately.

Profile Sheet/Character Sheet updates I know that before it wasn't required to post in the thread for when you updated your character due to new powers or upgraded powers. Yet due to the confusion I have been having with trying to keep the master character sheets up to date, this is now to be required even when updating powers. Thanks for the cooperation with this, as it is to help insure that your character is not lost.

More help for speeding along the process of power acceptance. When posting what you want your power to be, post exactly what is going to be copied and pasted into your profile. In the actual discription that accompanies your character is what we want to have accepted. If you are simply changing a parameters of a previous power, you may post the previous power, and below it simply post what is being changed. ie. if the range on a weapon was being changed from 15 to 20 feet in this case.

If you are simply adding description to your current powers, not adding new powers, or adding upgrades to your powers. Simply state that at the top of your post. All description updates need to be posted for approval aswell as upgrades. This is to prevent confusion, as adding description is good, but if the added description adds more abilities, it would basically be another upgrade.
In order to get an upgrade, the requirements are right below.
Upgrade (Simple Class) - This is when you upgrade a power you already have. I.E., you have fire control. Now you can control the fire, more of it, noticeably better than before. Cost: 150
Upgrade (Middle Class) - This is when you take a new power that still has some logical relation to a power you already have. I.E., you have the power to read emotions, now you have the power to change emotions. Cost: 250
Upgrade (Upper Class) - This is when you take a new power that is completely new for your character, and is like nothing she/he has ever done before. I.E., you have super speed, and now you have the power to read minds. Cost: 300
If you decide that you want to upgrade a current ability/power, only one of your characters abilities/powers is affected. Not all of them.
If you have more then one character, only one of them is able to receive a New Power/Ability Upgrade.

I think it needs to be put down in writing, because apparently there was confusion and I also had thought that I already put this in writing.
Only "ONE" power/ability may be requested at a time. You can not request multiple power upgrades, for the same power, or multiple differnet powers in each request.
Aswell. Ten days time in the real world, (Not your characters world, ours) must have passed between the last power upgrade approval, before you can request another. This is in addition to the post requirement.

Accute Scent:
Blake is able to trace a persons scent up to 20 yards. (a neiborhood block) Given the the opportunity that he had recieved something with the persons scent on it. Such as a stick or a peice of paper down to a handshake or a hug.
The scent is retainable due to how long he knew that person. (such as if it were Jun or X-oshi, the scent would remain with him and be remebered, seeing as how they are good freinds, but to someone he just met, the scent would last for 5 minutes (or five posts) beeing that it is a weak ability.

I think you'd have to wait until you have 250 posts in order to acquire this power, only because it's a new power related to the ones you already have and not an upgrade to one you already have. Sorry ^_^. But, save this until you hit 250, I don't see anything wrong with this power.

((Wanted to expand the description of my "power" with the acctual style of fighting he uses))
Judgement- A sword rumoured to have the soul of Vash’s father inside the blade. This heirloom holds many mysterious powers and is treasured by the hunter. The large claymore is very plain with a square guard and a cross for a hilt. Though quite heavy, a normal person could lift it with some effort but because of Vash's superior strength he can wield it with ease in one hand. Having a weapon with such a large reach and superior strength and speed, Vash created his own technique that sprouted from various stances he used throughout his career as a hunter. He has named this style after his father and the very blade he uses, Judgement.
Soul Reaper- Laying the edge of his blade across his shoulders, the dunpeal outstretches his other hand for balance. This is the most versatile stance in the style. From this he can move into various attacks that reach out far beyond that of most weapons. For those that do reach beyond his own attack radius, counter attacks make for a good way to break past an opponent's guard. Finally, this stance can easily be utilized on the attack, large sweeps and guard breaking being the primary focus.
Divine Cross- A refined and renamed stance that Vash is renowned for, this is primarily used for guarding and counter attacking. The sword is held up in front of the dunpeal, going from their right shoulder to their left knee. The blade is then turned to it's side so the flat is not blocking his view. This allows for a better view of opponents and a faster reaction to attacks. As for the abilities of this stance, it mainly focuses on protection. Moving is impossible, with most blocks and counter attacks relying on sliding his feet across the ground for precision maneuvers. Though an excellent stance to survive in, it offers little in damaging opponents.
Shadow Dance- Laying the flat of the sword down across his back, Vash can take to the offensive with a brutal combination of sweeping maneuvers. Though it does lack defense, the Shadow Dance stance replaces it with movements that allow for dodging blows rather than blocking them. Speed and strength are the main focus, with some aerial strikes mixed in. As an added bonus, this stance easily converts to an aerial assault stance, usable with Vash's excellent ability to jump around and strike at his foes with skirmish tactics.

I guess in my opinion this would be the smallEST animal suchas a geko or a baby salamander to the biggest animal being a Tiger or K-9.
I said this because, seeing it as a small upgrade, he cant really controll a beast bigger than a medium sized animal coming up to the waist of a 6 foot human.

Looks just like the puppies in this picture here, except for the eyes. Right eye being a milky pink, left a milky blue, only noticed as such upon close inspection, otherwise still appearing black and beady.
History: Born to a breeder family in upstate New York, little Artemis was put up for sale at a pet store in Buffalo. A young man Named Darrien Hessel purchased and named him, and that's how he got to where he is today.
That explains his current location, now on to his current condition. Shortly after birth, the young pup had a rather strange encounter. Playing with the other pups, he ran up the folding stairs to the attic (why do people always leave those down? Seriously, someone could trip and break their neck. Damn kids <.<). While in the attic, (and another thing. How do the family pets always manage to navigate those wacky steps, yet they can't make the turn to their bowl in the kitchen without wiping out twice? Anyone?) he, being the curious little thing he is, began rummaging through a box he found on the floor. In his rummaging, he broke a vile of a strange purple liquid (cliche, yeah, but it happened ok?).
Soon after poking its nose into the liquid he saw a quick flash. In his little doggy mind he saw a lamp tip off a table and land on his sleeping mother. Assuming this to have been an occurrence in his past which he had forgotten or blocked out, he raced down the stairs to where he last remembered seeing his sleeping mother. When he got down, there she was! Before he could even heave a sigh of relief, however, he saw one of his siblings slam into a table and knock a lamp off. Howling a quick, loud yelp, he awoke his mother, who rolled over just out of the way of the crashing lamp.
Special Power: Sir Artemis has the underdeveloped ability to see into the immediate future. Since he's still so young, he can only see just a moment into the future, and being a dog, he'd have to be fairly in tune with a human to convey any form of warning to them.
Not sure if this would constitute a second character, power, or NPC, I figured I'd post here cuz it made the most sense

Secondly. A tiger is a bit big in consideration for a small animal. I personally would say things such as rodents to the size of a house cat would be considered a small animal.

Using a simple upgrade - 150 post.
Perfect Potential [Body] - Dr. Hiroku Sakai ambition is now coming to light even further. With the first seal broken and the limits of Akai's humanself being washed away - Akai is now more than the good Dr. Sakai has ever dreamed of becoming. Strength, speed, stamina, and durability are all being magnified to supernatural proportions. The first augmentations of strength and speed now come as natural as drawing in a breath to Akai. But when he now taps into his heightened abilities - the strain on his body lessened, meaning he can sustain it for a much longer period of time than just short burst. Eyes still glow golden, as the afternoon sun. 10 mins, can be sustained per day. - but every minute after that, the wear on his body starts to grow and metabolism skyrockets. He is still prone to blackouts but they don't last more than five minutes.
The Upgrade
Perfect Potential [Body] lvl 2. -- Akai's has released more of the seal, calling forth even more of his terrifying power that is encoded into his DNA, as with first lvl. of the seal being released -- his overall strength, speed, stamina, and durability are being increased to an even higher level. It's a noticeable gap this time, Akai strenght and speed are quadrupled in proportion, while his toughness on the outside and inside doubles. The first level of his Perfect Potential is now released completely, coming as natural to him as drawing a breath of air - while the new state of power can only be maintained for a total of 30 mins. Akai is still prone to black outs after 5 mins going beyond the initial, these blackouts now are mental, the strain on the body is also a straing on the brain causing him great pain over time, the more intense the pain -- the more control Akai looses, causing him to lash out violently at anyone near him. And if still conscious after 10 mins, his body will simply collapse, with a 5 minute complete blackout.
Perfect Potential [Body] lvl 2-
In this upgrade yo are able to do too many things.
-Quadrupling your strength
-Quadrupaling your speed
-Increasing your toughness
-Increasing the amount of time you are able to use each of your initial abilities.
If you want this upgrade, it is going to be able to do less things.

Alright this should do it.
Blood Wings:
This is the battle form of Lucian's wings. The feathers become a blood red. They have the consistency of sharp steel, but the lightness of a feather by super-natural means. If you touch said wings they'll more likely cut you if not careful. These wings are of course more resistance to attacks, then his previous wings. There is also a marginal increasement to his speed, but not by much due to the improved toughness of the wings.

The reason your initial power, perfect potential was approved was because of the time limit that limited it, because it did more then one thing. But I noticed we forgot to add a scale for what everything does.
I am guessing that your ratings for everything would follow the things we already have in place for the board standards. Which would mean this improves your speed to be at level three in the board standards?

Correct for the speed!
On the scale of the strength -- which there is none -- The closest person I can compare him to is Vash who has a similar power with his dunpeal traits -- which would make him 2 twice as strong as the dunpeal. But this is limited to 30 mins with drawbacks as well for exceeding those limits.
and note that Vash does not have a time limit - where as Akai does.

Spirit Beast [Spirit] - The second seal has broken and the spirit within the experiment continues to grow and expand, Akai's internal energy is swelled to proportions well beyond that of normal beings. He is now able to focus these fluxations of spiritual energy to now take on a physical form -- Akai's DNA is a recombinant strand, combined with the DNA reminants of a slain red dragon -- of a small gold dragon, this mythical beast and Akai's spirit are one in the same, it was summoned from next world and now lies dormant inside of Akai. He can summon it forth and it will act as companion, they share a mind link so verbal commands aren't really needed [though he stills find himself talking to it sometimes] and this mythical beast is extremely loyal to Akai cause they are almost one in the same. When dormant, the dragon lies in a marking on his arm, Kanji symbols of the word Ryu with flames ignited all around, join other markings on his right arm. It appears in ethereal flames that consume his arm and then materialises in the real world. In essence, this beast and Akai are one in the same, representing the penale of perfection on the human scale and mythical scale - Dragons were revered for the their wisdom, cunning, and ferocious might - they were the absolute top of the food chain. When Ryu feels pain, Akai feels that same pain - if Ryu dies, Akai shall die along with him. The length of time Ryu can be summoned is only 20 mins per day -- there is a taxing a strain placed on Akai's body from having the beast seperated from him, this is why without warning when the time is up, it goes back inside of his body to lie dormant and gather its strength again.
Dragon's traits
Name: Ryu
Abilities: Flight - It has wings which allows it fly at the rate of speed Akai can move.
Claws - the most basic of defenses for the animal kingdom, tooth and claw attacks from the beasts razor sharp talons, its strength is that of Akai's.
Size: The dragon stands nearly 3ft at the shoulder and has a wing spand of twice that size. Its scales are golden and eyes are the same color as Akai.
The Upgrade
Spirit Beast [Lvl.2]
The beast is now more defined, the nature more clear as it continues to grow at quickening pace. Born of Amaterasu's plight when upon seeing the actions of her brother, Susano'o, she fled to the cave, Ama-no-Iwato in embarrassment, obscuring the light she emanated and plunging the world into darkness. Upon seeing the use of Susano'o's power, Amaterasu took precautions and readied a bow and quiver at her side. Despite the fact that this may be seen as a somewhat rash decision, prior to meeting Amaterasu, Susano'o was persistent in meeting his late mother in the underworld. However, it is detailed that Susano'o was in fear of becoming lost, as he had learnt of the disturbing nature of the underworld, and so it is possible that Amaterasu feared Susano'o had visited the underworld, she went to confront her brother head on, with her bow and quiver of arrows. When she found him they fought, the warped and twisted darkness fed off of the light that she was shedding, twisting into a coporeal and sentient being, a black luster dragon formed in midst of the battle, black turned to gold, but at it core still remained the darkness, the darkness that now rushes to surface. Scales as ebon as the midnight sky, shine with the light of the sun underneathe, an eerie golden glow eminates from under the scales and within the maw of this monster.
Traits.
Name: Amaterasu
Abilities: Flight - It has wings which allows it fly at the rate of speed which Akai can move.
Flames of the Underworld - The Dragon's intense innercore has developed more, giving this beast the black flames of Hell as a weapon. [at this stage - the flames can cause moderate burns = 2nd degree]
Claws - the most basic of defenses for the animal kingdom, tooth and claw attacks from the beasts razor sharp talons, its strength is that of Akai's.
Size: The dragon stands nearly 9ft at the shoulder and has a wing spand of twice that size. Its scales are black with a golden under glow with a very bright golden eyes.
Limit of summoning - 30 mins per day max [can be split any which way Akai chooses but CANNOT exceede that limit].
For each time the Amaterasu uses its flames, Akai feels the effect, like a physic link backlash.
1 time - headache.
2 times - Intense headache, bad attitude formed.
3 times - A cry, scream, and howl from pain, violent tendcy increased.
4 times - A complete give in to the violent nature. [Riot of the Mind]
The pain, will disperse one level per hour of NON-power useage. This includes the use of all his powers. Once Akai has given into the pain -- this is called the Riot of the Mind - He doesn't friend from foe and automaticly taps into his augmention - wheather or not the time has been exceeded and goes on a 2 min rampage until passes out.

So the cosmetic changes are its size - from 3ft to 9ft. From gold scales to black scales.
The power upgrade is the Flames of the Underworld [with drawbacks included] and the +10 min time limit for a total of 30 min.

And I spoke with Dev before hand about this power and he said it should be ok for a simple upgrade.
