Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
He looked the kid in the eye, wondering why he couldn't smell anything. It dawned on him that the boy wasn't by the door he was standing near at all.

He got off the wall, turned and took a step backwards. He wanted to see if it was just coming from the room or the dead thing in the bag. He looked over at the guy.

"Hey you don't smell that." He pointed towards the door.

"I don't know, but you'd probably better go in and rest for a moment. I'm no doctor, but collapsing suddenly can't be a good thing."

Kanami retrieved her mini-backpack from the floor as if had slid off just as she had collapsed, reached inside to pull out a pair of cotton gloves. How annoying the side effects of her powers can be!

"Trust me, I'm fine Art. It's not a big deal, it just happens once in a while."

She slipped on the gloves and rested her hand on the doorknob. The spunky girl did not collapse at all, lucky her!

"Nagato." She muttered to herself as if she cursed upon forgetting something, waited to hear three clicks and the door opened easily.

"Hey, you smell that."

Kanami glanced at Xoshi with a raised eyebrow.

"You mean the bag? Yeah, let me get my notebook and we'll give it a proper burial." Kanami pushed the door open, leaving it ajar as she popped inside.

The dorm was suprisingly clean, the blankets and curtains in shades of pink and lavender and the desk had a large 17'' widescreen laptop on a hypnotic screensaver. The only other objects on the desk was a rock swaddled in orange robes, a couple of books, a notepad and a pen that doubled as a voice recorder. Kanami walked over to her desk, picked up the notebook, and stuffed it into her backpack. It seemed her roomate was nowhere to be seen.

She reached behind the monsterous laptop as if to reach for one of the books and instead she grabbed the small box with her brother's new camera to test. With all that she needed, Kanami turned and started back to the door. Now that was left was to bury that thing.

"I didn't pass out again, so I'm fine." She waited before shutting the door, resting her hand on the doorknob.

"Art, after we bury that thing Xoshi and I are going to eat something. Coming?"

"Trust me, I'm fine Art. It's not a big deal, it just happens once in a while."

"Are you sure? Really?" He followed her, solicitious, into the room, ostentably to make sure she didn't fall again. What was that she said? Naginta? Nagano? Might be worth trying sometime. As the moved away from the desk, he unconciously pocketed the pen in passing. "I mean, really? You could have busted your jaw of something."

"I didn't pass out again, so I'm fine." She waited before shutting the door, resting her hand on the doorknob. "Art, after we bury that thing Xoshi and I are going to eat something. Coming?"

"Ah, sure! That'd be nice, I haven't gone out to eat since I got here!" He exclaimed, light and easy.

X-oshi waited outside. He felt that letting himself into her room would be disrespectful. She didn't invite him in. But he did go close to the entrance of her doorway. The smell from the room across the hall was unsettling, but easily escapable.

He listened to the two talk. The other guys name was Art. Kanami just introduced each other, without knowing. He took a quick glance into her room without trying so he quickly turned his face down the hall waiting for the two to emerge.

Kanami, had her notebook, and a box. He looked them both over as they came out and she invited him to eat also. He agreed.

"Allright, lets do it. Wait, Art you need to go to your room to grab anything. Because, I know I want to get something from mine. It ain't gonna take long, I just need to do something, first. Ya know clean up a little. Then we can bounce."

He looked to them both for approval.

"Fine by me..."

With decisions made, Kanami shut the door, muttering a compound word like a curse word in the process. Three clicks and the door was locked securely. Her roomate was still able to get in and out of the room without the password. Only with the paranoid Kanami did the locks serve a purpose for her.

What a day...dead animals, a moment of losing conciouness but the idea of fruit cups made up for it.

Fine! I will do what I must!

"Okay then, let's do this: If you both need to get something from your rooms, go on ahead. I'll just meet you outside whenever you're ready. There are fruit cups involved!"

Without even waiting to hear either of their answers, Kanami scooped up the bag and dashed down the hallway, kicking the door open. Nevermind that she just passed out, concerns about her well being does not outweigh fresh fruit cups! Besides X-oshi and Art seemed to be competent enough to find their way outside.

Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
The leel of determination in her eyes was kinda unsettling. In which she did what she needed to do with no questions asked. Though it was get out my way and lets get to work attitude that made her seem more than human.

X-oshi was now standing behind watching her go down the corridor. He made a portal and exited the area before Art would now he was even gone.

He continued to use his portals until he reached his room. He came out the ground. Just jumped right out of the floor.
He hadn't slept in his room for some time. But at least he didn't feel like coming home to a messy house. His clothes were hanging neatly in his closet. His video game system out on full display as a way of saying "Look at what I got."

He walked over to his curtains and pulled them back. Letting the morning sun into his dark and dusky room. He then reached into his dresser drawer and pulled his cell phone out. He powered it up and began dancing as the techno music began to make his room come alive, even for just a couple of seconds worth. He regained his composure and set his phone in his pocket. He quickly went to work and washed his face and began to freshen up a little more. He threw on some clothes. A white SouthPole shirt. Matching jeans and a new pair of white K-swiss. He fixed his hair and threw his dirty clothes in its proper place.

He began to make his way out his door, but then decided to portal all the way back down near the elevators and walk out the door.

Art didn't need anything from his room, nor did he have much in his room worth retrieving. All he had in his room was a beanbag chair, a few changes of clothing and a small but overfilled bookshelf. He quickly slipped out, lurking near the entrance and waiting for Kanami to come out so he could walk up behind her and spook her. A harmless trick and a timeless classic.

Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
Outside of the dorms, there was a tree surrounded by a large ring dead brown grass and fallen leaves. It wasn't the most pleasing place for a burial but when springtime returned it will certainly be beautiful again. Rebirth and death in it's simplest forms and this is why Kanami had chosen it...aside from that it resembled the burial place of-

No! You're over that now!

A hole was dug and then she lowered the bag into the ground. She made a quick, silent prayer and then reburied it. May it have a good rebirth, she thought to herself. Kanami stood up and started back inside, now realizing a good handwashing was in order. Her dorm was quite close to the entrance, so she could rush in and out before meeting Xoshi and Art.

Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
X-oshi had been standing off in the distance and watched her pray for the dead animal. It was actually kinda sad seeing something like that happen. X-oshi just kinda stood there wondering about people and there lack of respect.

He wasn't sure if she knew if he was there or not but he was sure he was there before Art. X-oshi walked forward into a portal and waited until she would get close to the door and then reveal himself.

From the look of it, it seemed like she was having a moment. Maybe to think or clear her own head. But nonetheless it seemed like something like this could have an impact on someone.

"I guess" He said under his breath as he closed his doorway and waited until he was ready to reveal himself.

Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
As Kanami stepped out the door, Art was waiting in a small niche in the wall near the door. People allways looked in the direction the door swung, but rarely in the other direction, so to all appearances it would seem like he came out of thin air.

As she stepped out, he fell in quietly behind her. His arm stayed at his side, but a phantom hand manifested and pressed for a short moment on Kanami's shoulder. He asked, a bit too loudly, "So where's goods to eats around here?"

He really hoped she didn't faint again, but this was an excellent classic prank. No way he would have passed up a chance to use it.

Re: Floor One in Widescreen (Open)
Her hands were all clean now thanks to a packet of antibiotic hand wipes she found in her backpack; more prepared than she had thought! Her usual alertness had lapsed for a moment so she never heard Art sneaking up behind her. A hand fell on her shoulder and the girl suddenly became rigid:

So where's goods to eats around here?"

"GAH!!! I didn't do it!!"

She whirled around to add "And you can't prove a damn thing!" when she realized that it was Art who had scared the living hell out of her. Kanami let out a big sigh before glaring at the young man.

"Art! Don't DO that!" The overly-paranoid girl shouted before straightening up and making her sure her pony tail was still decent. She may not be a normal girly-girl but she had her moments where she could actually be girly. Upon realizing she was exhibiting one of those moments in front of her odd male companion, she quickly knocked it off and cleared her throat.

"The food is sub-par in the cafeteria, but the fruit cups are the only things there worth eating in my opinion especially the berry cup! Now where's X-oshi?"
