Re: Away from the craziness (open)

Her eyes broke contact for a moment as he ruffled his har. Her fingers twitched, almost jealous of his own hand touching him. She wished she was free enough to reach out and touch someone, but she couldn't quite come to it yet.

Or maybe you do it because someone else broke you . . .

She shook her head and was about to speak when someone came into view. Like a shot Hawthorne was on her feet and completely on the defensive, arms crossed in front of her and a glare in her eyes. She carefully watches him, but it is not anger she is emitting, but complete terror. She had been taken by surprise, not even noticing him until he was almost beside her. If she hadn't broken eye contact with Jun-Bo she might not have noticed the other person at all.

In desperation she cast a look at the boy she had been sitting so close to a moment before. She was so confused, but she had to be vigilant at all times. Anyody walking by could turn out to be him, and if she was this unobservant it would be the end of her freedom again. This she knew, as if it was a fact embedded in stone.

Merciah has a peacefullness about him. His hands are clasped together and hidden underneath the sleeves of his tunic as he walks. His deep green eyes, currently seem soft and relaxed, though with perhaps a great deal of knowledge behind them. His hair rides softly as the small breeze that exist seperates the two streaks of blonde that are at his temple. They remain pushed back, but the seperation is visible. He walks with no noticable expression on his face as he seems to carry himself confidently, but not in any way does he seem imposing as he walks towards his destination.

*He was listening to her as she cuts her self short and hops to her feet. He could tell that merciah was near by because of the chi, but he was far from worried about someone he considered a friend. Even if they were not close friends, they had never been enemies and had spoken many a times which made him a friend in his book. With a smiled he lifted his right hand and waved over his shoulder towards Merciah*

"Greetings Merciah. Wonderful night we are having."

*He watched the young lass to see how she would react to his actions and to see if she would calm down now that he knew the man and was at ease around him enough to not even look over to see who it is. Though he was sure Merciah would not take it as rude for him not looking over, after all he did it more often then anyone else. He spoke calmly to her.*

"Relax, Merciah will not harm you or anyone as long as they do not try to harm him. Also I will protect you as long as you are in my presence."

Still continuing towards his destination, Merciah is about to round the corner when Jun-bo speaks to him, greeeting him. Not that he is far away or even out of the way. but if he decides to go straght rather then turn he could be polite and return the greeting rather then ignore it. Merciah, not being a rude person, even though he isn't one known to be very social decides to continue straight.

"Evening Jun-bo." Merciah says as he approaches. A slight bow is noticeable, one of kindness, but not any special amount of respect other then what a friend might show another.

His short reply perhaps is quick enough to hide his accent, though he doesn't intentionally hide the way he speaks, it just seems awckward when people do notice it. It isn't that often that a caucasian male with light brown hair and green eyes sounds like he would be more comfortable speaking Chinese rather then English.

Re: Away from the craziness (open)
a sense of peace was apparent from the moment Stella had entered the garden. it's name alone drew her to explore. she meandered down small paths lined with lurid flowers, and had not come across anyone, yet at this new turn in the path, she could make out the silhouettes of at least three people.

She continued towards them, determined not to leave the garden she had so recently discovered, though her eyes began to pale, as they routinely did when she met new people.
“evening,” she said, bowing her head as she did so.

Though Hawthorne appreciated Jun-Bo's attempt to calm her down, the amount of new people closing in on them were making her a tad twitchy. She didn't do well in crowds, which boded ill for her first day of class. Her eyes flicked back and forth between both the one Jun-Bo had called Merciah, and the girl with the pale eyes.

She was terrified, but she still allowed Jun-Bo's words to drift over her. Hawthorne tried to focus on them, letting his tone help calm her down, get her back to something near normality. Carefully she uncrossed her arms, and, almost unconsciously, she reached out for Jun-Bo with the hand closest to him.

"H - hello."

Her voice was quivering, and she was trying so hard to be polite. But she'd be damned if she lowered her eyes. Never let a potential danger out of your site. She knew that much.

"i beg forgivness for interputing" she said softly, and continued on her way.

*As he noticed just how uncomfortable she was with all the people around he got to his feet and shifted his body around so he was standing next to her, allowing her to grab his arm if she felt the need. He held an easygoing soft smile as if he knew nothing of the horrors the world held. He allows his head to tilt a little as the young lass approached them. He waved lightly to her with the arm that was not near her. *

“Worry not. It is quite all right. The gardens are as much of a place for you as it is for us; as such you are far from interrupting.”

*He looked to Merciah to see if the young man would simple walk by or would stop and talk. He figured he would walk bye, but never knew with that young man. Thinking of the young man, he wonder lightly in his head if they would ever get to spar as he had once wanted to. *

Hawthorne resisted the urge to shout out that of course the girl was interupting as she carefully clasped Jun-Bo's arm in her hand. Her knuckles were almost white from the effort of not digging her fingers into the boy's forearm. She didn't want him to realize just how nervous she was. She didn't really want to socialize. She had obtained a level of comfort with Jun-Bo that she was unused to, and she didn't want to lose that feeling.

It took Hawthorne a moment, but then it passed through Hawthorne's mind what she must look like, clinging to Jun-Bo's arm like a helpless kitten. Abruptly she released her hold on his arm and took a step away. She had to be strong on her own. She couldn't rely on anyone!

Re: Away from the craziness (open)
Just as Merciah decides that he is going to continue on and simply pass by, another person approaches from the other direction. She in turn greets the group and Merciah, simply not knowing how to be rude returns her greeting in kind. "Good evening." Though suddenly, even in his politness, he is done speaking that quickly. Not being very sociable, he doesn't provide a lot of words in his greeting, just the two that he spoke.

Maybe in his small greeting his accent was noticed. He wasn't attempting to hide it in any way, but then, it was only a short greeting. Maybe his accented English wasn't noticed. Or, maybe the Chinese origin was heard, but they didn't realize it. He surely doesn't look like someone who would have such an accent.

Stella glanced back at the boy who had just greeted her and smiled, her eyes beginning to grow a stronger blue. it seemed at least two of the three did not mind her presence.
"nice to meet you, I'm Stella." she addressed them all, and hoped the other girl there would not be offended by her staying. To make sure, Stella met her eyes and smiled again., openly moving away from the boy she was standing with. "I am not trying to disrupt your gathering," she explained, running a hand through her hair. "

Hawthorne made sure to keep a careful, concise distance of about 6 inches between her and Jun-Bo. She didn't want to look like they were . . .

Like you're what, moron? Together? You're not. You are just two people who happened to end up in the same place at the same time. You're exagerrating things again, get over yourself.

She shook her head, trying to eradicate the dark voices from her past out of it. This wasn't a place she wanted to bring that image into. She knew there was nothing between Jun-Bo and herself, no matter how much she wanted to see something there. They had just met. She tried to give a friendly(er) smile to the girl.

"It's not really a gathering . . ."

*When she took his arm and held on, his mind wondered of just how much she was scared of other people. The other female seemed to be more at ease then Haw was. After a moment she let go of him and yet stay right next to him. The act made him think that she was trying to be strong and yet she was still trying to rely on him.*

"It is more of a few people that happened upon each other and started talking."

*He looked up into a tree when an owl howted and called his attention up at it. It seemed like it was looking for something interesting, most likely for some food for its family.*

Stella smiled slowly, still not compleatly conviced she was wanted there. she observed the girl stepping from the boy, a clear message; nothing to see here Stella hoped she had not caused any strife. she glanced from one face to another, her eyes still a blue grey.
"what brought you all out here?" Stella said, her smile begining to feel a little strained. "if i may ask," she added quickly, not wanting to appear rude. her hand reached for her necklace, searching for something familiar to grasp.

Hawthorne started a bit when the girl reached for her necklace, the sudden movement frightening her a little. But, Jun-Bo said he would keep her safe, so she carefully smoothed her features back into something resembling a smile. After all, the girl was only trying to make conversation, she was prolly as new as Hawthorne herself.

"I, personally, came up here to get away from the craziness of moving into a new place. My room mate is a boy, and I just . . . it was insane for me. I needed to find a place to take a deep breath."

*His eyes came back down to the rest of the group as the women started to talk again. He was interested in the why they were all here, but it was nothing too big for him.*

"I came here to practice martail arts."

*He smiled lightly as it was mostly true. He had come there to pratice againest the big tree, for some reason it was harder and powerful enough to take his blows unlike most trees. He figured it was the garden's powers that keep it so strong.*

"Having to live with a boy will be interesting for you I am sure. Currently I am staying in a room with another male, though I had nto met him tell recently."

*He grinned lightly*

As they begin speaking about there reasons for being there in the garden, Merciah isn't speaking much, and sees that he has a chance to return to his previous actions. That of caring for a specific part of the garden that he has seemingly adopted as his own.

"I was siply passing through." Merciah states. Not being a very sociable person, he doesn't see that his short set of words would most likely do the opposite of what he was hoping. That would be his words giving him an excuse to leave. Though he isn't very sociable, so he doesn't think the short sentence would provide more reason for others to talk to him.

Hawthorne nodded to the quiet boy when he managed to put his two cents in.

"Just passing through, eh? Then by all means, don't let us keep you from your business."

She would rather him leave anyways, in fact, she wouldn't be crushed if they all left.

That's not true and you know it. If Jun-Bo left you'd be upset . . .

She supposed she could be that honest with herself, though he seemed rather distant since the others had arrived. It made her feel kinda special, like that intensed, honest personality had been hers alone to glimpse.

*He nodded to Merciah and wondered if the man was truely happy not being where he was going. He was hard to keep tabs on and figure out some days. When his eyes shifted to the second lass to talk come here today he raised his right eyebrow and looked stright into her eyes taking in the color and structure of the eye.

It was only a moment then he looked back to Haw and smiled. He was not sure what she was thinking though he was sure she wanted to be around less people. She seemed to have issues with alot of people and she constantly felt vunerable.*

"If you would like to continue on Merciah then do not allow us to stop you, but you are also welcome here."

*After a moment he closed his eyes and smiled just listening.*

"What are your favorite activies?"

Stella gave a small smile. "I think if Merciah is leaving, i too will continue on my way," she bowed her head. "once again, i apologise for interuption" she met eyes with Hawthorn, and smiled. "that you for conversing. i hope we meet again."
Having said her goodbyes, Stella exited the garden
