Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

At first Ryoko thought he was actually going to kiss the roof. That would have probably not been the best idea for him, but at that time he had already jumped down so there was no way for Ryoko to stop him anyway. She was a little relieved when he only kissed her shoe, yet that gesture was still a little strange. Still, all she did was laugh at him for it.
"Ah, no, not at all. I'm more the street and alley type. I've never been on a plane, but then again, I never really had any place to go. People are pretty much people whereever you go."
It was always interesting to hear what people thought of being up that high. His reaction was similar to most, but he had a it seemed much more serious. " Y'know come to think of it, your the first person I've flown around, you should feel lucky." She said.
Re: From on High (edward)" Y'know come to think of it, your the first person I've flown around, you should feel lucky."
Somehow, he doubted that. She had seemed just a little too comfortable with the whole idea. Man, she was probably just toying with him again. Screw that, he had to at least try to turn the tables on her. His tone got darker.
"I don't find that surprising. After, that's where you go to get away from that man, isn't it?"
A shot in the dark, but with a girl like her he was bound to hit something.
Re: From on High (edward)"I don't find that surprising. After, that's where you go to get away from that man, isn't it?"
Ryoko looked at Art, anger raging up inside her. What in the hell was he talking about? How did he know that about her? Still, she was always a professional when it came to never letting emotion show, so now was no exception. She had the same calm look about her, just like before he asked her the question.
" No, it was just a cool trick my mother taught me. She's the free spirited type, she thought it'd be a useful talent." Ryoko explained. Though she may have looked like nothing was wrong, she was being torn apart inside. There were a few of lies in what she said. First off, she always used the ability to get away from her father, and secondly, she made it sound like her mother was still alive.
Re: From on High (edward)No, it was just a cool trick my mother taught me. She's the free spirited type, she thought it'd be a useful talent."
His face was just as immutable as hers, not betraying his thoughts. But on the inside, he allowed himself a small, bitter chuckle. What she had just said was the same kind of glib pass-off he himself would easily come up with. He was sure he had hit a nerve. He was going to find an edge on this strange woman however he possibly could. He continued, glib and light.
"Wow, that sounds like a really cool thing to learn from your mom. Could she teach me? Do you ever meet by chance, up in the sky?
Re: From on High (edward)"Wow, that sounds like a really cool thing to learn from your mom. Could she teach me? Do you ever meet by chance, up in the sky?
Ryoko shrugged. He seemed to be trying to get her to give out personal information. Well he would have to try a lot harder if he wanted to. " She could probably teach you, provided your around when she visits. And we don't meet up in the sky anymore, but we used to when I still lived at home." She explained, rather proud of herself for being able to lie so quickly.
Re: From on High (edward)
There was something there, he was sure of it. The girl was inscrutable, however. He couldn't force an answer, and he couldn't trick one out of her... damn. He wasn't going to get any answers right now, and she'd probably just drop him to the pavement if he kept at it. Maybe he could end up on a high note anyway.
" She could probably teach you, provided your around when she visits. And we don't meet up in the sky anymore, but we used to when I still lived at home."
"I better make sure I don't miss it, then." He turned, resting his hands on the back of his neck as he started to walk away. "And if that man ever shows up, you can count on me for support. Thanks for the ride." He waved behind his back as he made for the door.
Re: From on High (edward)"And if that man ever shows up, you can count on me for support. Thanks for the ride."
Well this boy obviously didn't know Ryoko at all. She didn't need protecting, not now and not ever. If her father came after her then she would just run away. He couldn't fly, it wouldn't be that hard. And if she really did need protecting, or someone to support her, there were much stronger people she knew as opposed to this guy. " There's no man looking for me if that's what you think," Ryoko began, though that time she wasn't lieing to him.
" And don't expect me to count on you, I don't need anyone for support." She added, a bitter sound in her voice. She didn't feel the need to go after him. He made her so angry right now that all she needed to do was talk to someone who knew what was going on with her. It would either be Jun, Pax or Hawthorne, but for this kind of problem she would probably go looking for her best friend.
Re: From on High (edward)
Thinking again, Art turned on his heel, stopping and leaning against the door to the stairs. "It doesn't seem like you need anything. You didn't seem to have any problem at all treating me like a doll, carrying me off on a whim and then telling me a bunch of easy lies. Do you toy with everyone like that, or just people who doesn't seem significant?" His tone was light, but his eyes were hard.
Re: From on High (edward)"It doesn't seem like you need anything. You didn't seem to have any problem at all treating me like a doll, carrying me off on a whim and then telling me a bunch of easy lies. Do you toy with everyone like that, or just people who doesn't seem significant?"
Ryoko was looking out over the roof when he spoke to her. It confused him what he would say. How did he know she was lieing? Usually that was her best ability, well, apart from stealing anyway. With her hands resting in her pockets, she turned to look at him. Just looking at him fueled her anger. How the hell did he know about her father.
" I didn't you know thought I was treating you like a doll," Ryoko began, her voice calm. He thought she had been toying with her. She would never do that, never stoop down to the level her father rested so comfortably at. " And I wasn't toying with you." She added, still calm in her voice. Maybe that was why he was mad, because she was able to answer his questions so calmly.
Re: From on High (edward)" And I wasn't toying with you."
He wasn't upset with her calm, only with her lies. "That is what it seems like when someone carries you off into the sky on a whim." He took another stab. "Is that how he used to treat you? Or is it just your way to get away from thinking about things like that?" He leaned towards her, thumb running along his fingertips.
"That is what it seems like when someone carries you off into the sky on a whim."
Ryoko simply shrugged. " Oh well, take it how you want it." she said. Honestly she couldn't care less how he felt about her action. What other people thought never stopped her before. " I guess I should have warned you, but you had fun." She added. It wasn't like she was trying to justify anything, she was just explaining the situation how she saw it.
"Is that how he used to treat you? Or is it just your way to get away from thinking about things like that?"
Ryoko's blood red eyes narrowed on the boy. He sure thought he was a smart one didn't he. No, she was never going to give out personal information to the likes of him. She hadn't even told her best friend Hawthorne, who had shared so much about her past. When those thoughts overtook her mind, there was a hint of sadness in her eyes.
" He is the one who trained me. Made me strong and able to work. Why is it any business of yours?" She asked.
Re: From on High (edward)" I guess I should have warned you, but you had fun."
He stopped, considering her words carefully. "I did, at that. It was a good ride. I just found it odd you felt the need to threaten me so casually." He glanced at her. "That kinda ruins the fun of the whole thing." He was bothered more by the structure of the thing then the substance. It might have been fun to fall that far, for however long it lasted.
" He is the one who trained me. Made me strong and able to work. Why is it any business of yours?" She asked.
"It's not any of my business. I just can't help but be curious. I always find it fascinating how influences from such a young age can last for so long in people." He looked at her. "Did he teach you how to lie too? Or is that how you work?"
Re: From on High (edward)"It's not any of my business. I just can't help but be curious. I always find it fascinating how influences from such a young age can last for so long in people."..."Did he teach you how to lie too? Or is that how you work?"
All the sadness from Ryoko's eyes was gone as she pushed Hawthorne out of her mind for a moment. She took one hand out of her pocket and rested it on her hip. God this kid was a bastard, just trying to piss her off or whatever he was doing. Why did he really care if she lied to him or not, it wasn't like she was going to give out who she was to a complete stranger. " Lieing is always something a thief should be good at. It's a necessity." She replied.
Re: From on High (edward)
Wheels started turning in his head. Who the heck would teach a female child to be a thief? Whores usually had far better profit margins. Someone who knew her other abilities, someone she was bound to somehow... a male relative, or an adoptive father perhaps.
"So that's how it was?" He considered his fingernails. "You're fortunate, in a way. I never knew my own father, or anyone else. I had to learn how to be a thief on my own." He held up a preemptive finger. "Don't say anything if you don't want to, just don't lie to me." He looked down. "I know a bit of how it is. I've been with others, I've been alone. It's hard both ways. After all this time, I have no problems being a little careless with items, moving things around from place to place. But I never lost sight of the people. I know I've hurt people, but I never thought I could be careless with them." As he talked, he seem to withdraw, as if here were talking to himself instead of to her at the end.
Re: From on High (edward)
So here was Art, and he was... opening up to her? That was something Ryoko hadn't expected. She quite honestly thought he was going to give her another smart comment. She sighed lightly, feeling a little bad about lieing to him now that he had told her everything he did. Maybe she should tell him the truth about what she had lied about.
" My mother was the one to teach me to fly... but she... isn't... she isn't really alive. She died when I was eight." Ryoko explained, in a serious yet sad tone. Even if she gave him that little bit of truth about her past, she still couldn't look him in the eyes. She turned away, desperate to hide the obvious sadness from her eyes.
Re: From on High (edward)" My mother was the one to teach me to fly... but she... isn't... she isn't really alive. She died when I was eight."
His voice was low and even as he responded. "I'm very sorry to hear that. I'm glad you shared a bit of her memory with me, up there in the skies." He sighed. "When you do take someone else up there, like you have before, take things a bit easier on them, ok? I'm sure they'll appreciate it. And my offer remains; you may not need help, but I'll still offer it."
Re: From on High (edward)"When you do take someone else up there, like you have before, take things a bit easier on them, ok? I'm sure they'll appreciate it. And my offer remains; you may not need help, but I'll still offer it."
" Yes I've taken people into the sky before, but that was back where I used to love. I've never done it at MHS before. Funny that." Ryoko explained. It was odd that she showed her powers easily at her old home, and yet had never done it in the place that would accept it most.
When he spoke about his previous offer, the young thief shook her head. She didn't like asking people for help, and she was often too stubborn to accept it. " I usually try not to rely on other people too much. It just works out better that way." Ryoko said.
Re: From on High (edward) Yes I've taken people into the sky before, but that was back where I used to love. I've never done it at MHS before. Funny that."
"Truly I am blessed among men." A biblical quote, but one that wouldn't be immediately obvious to anyone who didn't know the book as well as Arthur did. "I can keep a forlorn hope that I'll have another chance, but if not, it is something I will remember."
" I usually try not to rely on other people too much. It just works out better that way."
"An excellent policy, most wise. " He could appreciate that. Too many well meaning but unthinking people had tried to help him over the years, usually to his detriment. "I suppose I'll just be around, then. Which room is yours? I should know which one to avoid."
Re: From on High (edward)"I suppose I'll just be around, then. Which room is yours? I should know which one to avoid."
Ryoko was confused by what he said. Why would he be trying to avoid her? She wondered about that for a moment, she couldn't understand why he would say something like that. " Floor 3, room 6..." She began, a little confusion in her voice as she spoke. Ryoko flew up off the ground and crossed her legs in the air. " But why are you avoiding it?" She asked.
Then another thought his her. What if he'd met her roommate? She was scary enough to scare anyone away. Ayeka often had a way of scaring Ryoko's friends, like when she scared Pax off because they were playing video games in her room. " Have you met Ayeka?" Was all she asked.
Re: From on High (edward)" But why are you avoiding it?" She asked.
Now, this was a lot better. They were at the point where they could talk to eachother like human beings. The coldness in his voice eased and his posture got less stiff. Maybe this girl wasn't so bad after all.
"Professional courtesy. Also, I don't think I'd want to run any traps you had set up." Fun as it might be to root around through her personal possessions, Art reluctantly decided it just wouldn't be worth the risk.
" Have you met Ayeka?"
His eyebrows shot up and he had to catch himself before he fell over. If that was her security system, he didn't want to get anywhere near her room. "Yes, we've met. All things considered, I think I was lucky to get away alive."
