We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

"She's a sweet girl...when she saw my wings, she accepted them immediately," The pristine white wings flapped once she started speaking of them. "I don't understand how she was so easy in accepting them, but I was happy."
Amber listened to his beliefs about dreams, but she bowed her head when he mentioned the possibilityof dreams being messages from God. Most humans have a general understanding or knowledge of dreams, Knives was no exception. The winged girl seemed to close up, bring her knees up to her chest and pressed her chin against them.
"Message from God..." She said, softness enveloped in something resembling sadness. "I doubt that. He has no favor in me. I've been having vivid, strange...disturbing dreams for so many nights that I really can't sleep. I don't know the context of them, all I know is that theyre more of omens than anything. That's where the question came from."
Amber was not ready to think or talk about the blood soaked nightmares she would have, she just wanted the glow of the moonlight to wash them all away.

After he answered her question about dreams, he noticed that she got silent once again. He let out a sigh, and looked up at her again, wondering what was bothering her. It was then that he noticed her body language - she was closing up, focusing on something. What was more, she seemed really worried about whatever it was.
When she said she had no favor in God, Knives snorted a bit. But before he could respond to that comment, she continued talking, so he simply listened. But as she talked, he rolled over on his side, and propped his head up with his hand, so that he could look up at her more easily. He frowned a bit at her comment, and opened his mouth to respond, but he noticed she seemed really down and worried about it. So, he changed his mind. He put a smile on his face, and tried to cheer her up.
"Well, whatever you're afraid of...don't worry. I mean....maybe it is just a dream. And if it happens, just call me." He smiled, and lifted his free hand up towards her. With a little bit of concentration, he made the tips of his fingers grow. From there, his fingernails grew, and became very sharp, much like claws. "I'd be happy to help my new friend."

Amber gave him a puzzled glance when he snorted, had he found something funny in what she said? She didn't dwell on it and now appeared to be...worried. He will regard her as a friend, count on him, he says so with his fingernails growing into claws.
Is what he saying true? If so...will he feel the same? Wll he trust you after he sees that darkness for himself? God forbid...
She looked at his claws casting their own shadows against his hand and then she would look up at his eyes this time. There maybe she will find her answers, or so she wanted to hope.

He'd been trying to be upbeat and cheerful, to make her feel much better. But when he noticed she was completely serious about the whole mess, he quickly changed his own attitude as well. He still retained a smile on his face, but now it was more seroius than goofy and friendly. She didn't seem to cheer up, though that was his goal...but he did, at least, get something from it. As he looked upon her face, he could tell his words meant something. He didn't know how, or why he could, but somehow he could see that he'd done good. And that made him feel better.
"Are you sure?" He blinked. "Why wouldn't I be?" He looked down at his own claws a moment, as they withered back into normal, human fingernails. Then, he looked back up into her eyes. "I mean, I hope I can help." He scratched his head sheepishly. "I dunno what I can do, but if I can help I really want to."

It wasn't what she meant, but the girl did give him a small smile. It was comforting to know there were a few people who can deal with it. Knives proved to be a very upbeat person and the last thing she wanted to do was to bring down his good mood, thus the small smile that had crossed her face.
It's hard to be that way anymore...not with...
"If you are comfortable around someone like me...all right. That's very kind of you to want to help. I'm not sure what you can do for me now, because what is worrying me..."
She stared out towards the lake, almost expecting for something to rise from the smooth surface of the water. If there was a being that would rise from that lake, it would be quite dangerous. But those are dreams...right?

Knives smiled as he looked over at Amber. He didn't understand why she was so down on herself. He thought that her being an angel was actually a really cool thing; after all, weren't angels supposed to be higher beings or something? Her being an angel hadn't negatively affected his judgement about her at all; if anything, it impressed him, possibly more than his father had when Knives found out what he was.
Finally, he noticed a smile cross her face. That made his only grow that much more; it was the first time he'd seen her do so, and it was definitely a good thing. He liked seeing this girl smile, even if he could tell by the rest of her body language that she was still not completely happy. But that didn't stop him from commenting on it. "That smile's a good look on you," He said, showing her big, toothy grin.
"...I'm not sure what you can do for me now, because what is worrying me...Might be a little troublesome..." Knives blinked, and then chuckled a little. He couldn't help it; it wasn't that he was making fun of her in the least. "Aren't most things that worry people a little troublesome?" The way she said it, it was just an obvious comment...even if he knew what she actually meant. Under normal circumstances, one should be able to laugh at themselves; but Knives couldn't tell what Amber's reaction to his response would be, whether good or bad.

She bowed her head when he commented on her smile, she was visibly not used to being told her smile fits her.

At that moment, Amber felt something stirring in her mind and resonating in her soul. Her hands clutched to her chest, there was that dull pain again. One of them was out there now, not too close, not too far and probably searching out for her. She had nothing to worry about...yet. The campus seemed to exist on its own plane of reality (or so she theorized), thus they never had appeared on the campus grounds. That doesn't mean it wasn't possible.
Even with that sudden pain there she glanced at him, trying to act as if nothing strange had happened.
"Yeah, that's true...Even if a dream is a dream, if something strange ever appears here, please let me know."

He smiled as he watched her, how she bowed her head and whatnot. A small laugh escaped him, and his ears twitched a little. He couldn't understand why she didn't smile more, or why his comment did this to her....but it didn't bother him. "She's got a cute personality..." He smiled again at his own thoughts.
As he watched her, he noticed her clutch her chest. Yet, she didn't show any sign of pain, so he didn't realize there was any - and he didn't think anything of it. After all, maybe it was part of her actions in response to his comment about her smile. Maybe it was another way for her to show she wasn't used to such words. So he didn't worry about it.
"Yeah, that's true...Even if a dream is a dream, if something strange ever appears here, please let me know." He nodded and smiled. "Yeah, of course." He looked out at the water, and then tilted his head back so his nose was in the air. This way, as he sniffed, he could catch more wind and find scents easier.
"But I don't think anything's there. At least, I should be able to smell it if there is..." He turned and gave her another big grin. "I think we're fine."

Of course one of them wasn't that close in proximity to her. If it had been, poor Amber would literally be ill. The pain in her chest was just the tip of the iceburg of what would happen to her, what she couldn't hide with a smile and carefully chosen words. But she did smile and tried to ignore that pain.
"Then I will rest well tonight, ne? And that's only if the dreams don't keep me in my insomnia."
Amber stared out at the lake again, her fingers now laced together on her lap.
"Everyone carries their share of burdens..." she said in a soft voice.

Knives's father could see, smell, and hear supernatural creatures. But he also had experience, and had been born with his abilities. As Knives had only recently discovered his, he did not know how to use them to their full potential. Therefore, if it really was an angel, a demon, or something similar that Amber feared, Knives would be unable to sense it, unless it took a human-like form, as Amber did. But he didn't know that...nor did he know what it really was that Amber was so worried about. So, he continued to smile at her, believing that he truly could help her if something attacked.

"Yeah, sure, if you want. Uhhm, if you wanna sleep out here, I can stand watch, k?" He smiled. "I stay up all night all the time, I'm sure I'll be ok." Then, he shrugged. "Either way, I'll be here anyways, so....."
He noticed her gaze focused on the lake once again, and his own eyes followed, looking out at the lake. Something out there was bothering this girl, and Knives wanted to make it stop, so he could see her pretty smile again.
But rather than make her focus on something unpleasant, Knives decided to try and talk about something else. He thought for a moment, and then turned his gaze back upon her. "So, how long have ya been at this school? You're probably really strong, huh?"
(ooc: sorry I can't make this more interesting....I could make a random monster pop out and attack, but that wouldn't make sense.....heh)

Amber said nothing to his offer of standing guard, as if she really was able to sleep without the nightmares destroying her peace. Instead she looked away from the lake and stared at him when he had asked if she was strong. Her eyes averted in a thoughtful manner; she probably wasn't as strong as some people on campus but she could hold her own now. Amber had grown much since her first day on campus being attacked by Yakoutio.
That was long ago, ne?
"I could be...best to know in a spar. I prefer not to however, but I have done it before."
Unbeknownst to both of them, the lake began to stir and bubbles broke the calm surface of the lake.

She looked at him, stared at him hard. But he didn't think anything of it, he just gave her another of his big smiles....he wasn't the type to get emotional or serious much, he was usually very happy and energetic. But he could tell that she was very thoughtful now, and it seemed to be because of what he had said. For some reason, this girl got this way a lot; but it wasn't a bad thing. Knives just couldn't understand why people could be serious so often, when it was much easier and made life much happier not to be. "Oh well," he thought to himself.
"I could be...best to know in a spar. I prefer not to however, but I have done it before." He laughed a bit, and shrugged. "You wanna spar with me? That sounds fun!" He smiled to her again, and shifted his position. This time, he rolled over again onto his back, but it was just so that he could sit up. This allowed him to turn and face her, sitting cross-legged just as before. Both hands moved behind his head, and he interlaced his fingers, then arched his back a little. "I mean, I'm new to the whole...uhhm....I dunno, being really different thing. I mean, I've not sparred often, and I'll probably lose to someone experienced like you." He grinned again. "But we could do it for fun! Just....not tonight, it's too late..."
Knives had no idea anything was going on with the lake. He figured that if he couldn't smell something strange, then nothing strange was there.

"I'm not sure you would want to do that..." Amber said in a playful manner. "Besides, you don't know if you can beat me. I'm not much of a-"
Amber suddenly froze in mid-sentence. Her pendulum bounced against her palm and she felt a strange, cold sensation. She lifted her hand, letting the pendulum slip out of her sleeve. The light was at first a violet color. Amber recognized this color and she said something gentle in Latin.
"Sensus."
The pendulum's color gradually shifted from violet to a cool grey color. The winged girl's expression was unreadable, but her voice was apparent.
"This isn't good at all."
Along the surface of the lake, a few more spots of bubbling water appeared and white shapes began to appear...

Both of his hands moved from behind his head, and he put them up in front of him, palms towards Amber, his fingers bent and spread apart, like he was making claws at her (though he didn't actually make his fingernails into claws as he had before...). "I wouldn't, huh? Why's that?"
But before he could get his answer, he noticed her demeanor change. He'd liked the happy, playful Amber; but something new seemed to be troubling her. With a sigh, he lowered his hands to the ground, sliding them slightly behind him so that he could lean back on them and support himself. His eyes followed her movements, as he watched her deal with the pendulum some more, which was now glowing purple. His eyebrows raised as he watched, and his head tilted to the side; he seemed very curioius about what was going on.

Finally Amber looked over towards the lake, the surface of thee water bubbling as if it was a pot on a hot stove. In the water, the girl could see white objects in the water. They have not broken the surface of the water just yet but something else had. A distinct and vile smell resembling rotting meat filled the air.
Amber reached down, grabbing her Tai Chi sword from the ground and staring at the lake. With the exception of Knives' presence, the lake was beginning to take on the one nightmare that continued to invade her dreams for the past week.
"Knives..." Amber spoke softly, "You should leave..."

He didn't notice the movement on the lake, or what was underneath the water's silvery surface. No, he was far too wrapped up in the conversation he was having with Amber. But, to a dog's nose, even the slightest of bad smells can be very unpleasant. So, on the moment Knives first inhaled the putrid smell that now filled the air, he couldn't help but gag and immediately cover his nose. His eyes began to water; he breathed through his mouth, but that's not easy for extended periods of time, either.
"What the hell is th--" He had, at this moment, followed Amber's gaze towards the water, and saw what was going on out there. Upon this sight, the dog boy's eyes grew wide, and his voice changed from an aggravated tone to a surprised one. "What the hell is that!" He pointed at the water with one hand, his other still covering his nose, fingers pinching hard to keep the smell out.
"You should leave..." He shook his head hard. When he'd stopped, his eyes stared at her, eyebrows furrowed in the most serious manner he'd had all night (which, of course, wasn't saying much for the upbeat dog boy...but he was still pretty serious at this point, and now put all of the humor aside...after all, this was not a situation to be joking around in).
"No, I told you I'd help, and I will. You might not need it, but if you're that worried about whatever it is, you might need me. I don't know, but I won't be a hindrance, I promise. I know what I'm doing." He nodded to her, and extended both of his hands in front of him, palms up, hands slightly opened, but fingers relaxed and bent. Though he didn't close his eyes, he did give a bit of concentration, and was able to make all of his fingernails on both hands turn into claws...he'd rather use his sword, but he didn't have it on him. So, he would have to make do with what he had. (The claws are actually stronger than his weak man-made sword, he just preferred to fight with it instead...)

The two would cast their eyes at the lake; the entire surface now bubbling and the putrid smell lingering in the air. The white objects in the water lingered just beneath the surface, threatening to ooze out like pus. Amber narrowed her eyes, her hand still covering her nose and mouth.
"Suit yourself..." her muffled voice replied. Knives had made the choice that she already figured he would make, he was going to stick with it through the end.
One after the other, white objects rose from the water like flowers in bloom, powdered-white arms with their palms raised to the sky, waiting to catch whatever may fall into their ghostly palms. Amber's eyes widened at the sight of the hands, the sight of her nightmares from the past week coming to life before her eyes.
"Oh no..." she said softly. She gripped her sword and started dashing towards the lake.

Knives stared at the lake intently, as if whatever was beneath the water's surface would get him the moment he looked away. Chances are, it probably would; the dog boy had no idea what these things were, but from the look on Amber's face and the way she was tense and ready, he could tell that they were enemies. So he remained ready.
Though he hated that horrible smell, which was amplified by his sensitive sense of smell, Knives couldn't keep holding his nose. It would put him at a disadvantage if something attacked and he only had one hand to fend the thing off with. So, he dropped his arm, but left it ready, muscles tense. He also made sure to use his ability to form his claws on that hand as well, so that both could deal good damage if necessary.
As the dog boy's blue eyes remained upon the white objects, they suddenly burst forth from the water. His muscles tightened more, and his hands curled a little, as if wanted to go towards fists, before he remembered that he was better off without fists. As Knives's eyes moved across the forms of each of these enemies, he couldn't figure out what it was he was fighting, or how he would need to go about it. Without any real ideas, he decided to wait it out and see what they would do first; but he was ready to slash with all his might when the time came.
"Oh no..." Knives took a quick glance over at Amber, before returning his gaze upon the monsters before him. "What....how bad is it? What are these things?"

Without answering Knives, Amber dashed forward, her sword brandished in her hand and glinting in the moonlight. Terror, pure terror was what she was feeling; she knew what was going to happen tonight, she was sure of it!
I got to get rid of all of them! Every last one before-
Just as she started towards them, the lake of hands all clenched into fists and quickly exposed their palms again. The palms of each powder-white hand revealed a wound in their palms: stigmata. Blood dripped from the wounds and into the water, bloody tadpoles spiraling into the dark depths of the lake.
A chorus of high-pitched and otherworldly shrieks filled the air. Forget the smell, the sound was even more unbearable! Amber stopped in her tracks, the sword dropped from her hand as she covered her ears. She may have shouted something to Knives but her voice was drowned out by the shrieks of pure pain.
Wake up! Wake up! This has to be a dream!
Another shout from the half angel that sounded like "we have to get rid of them" and she braved the horrendous sound. Grasping her sword again, she found herself trudging towards lake. Every step felt like cement trapping her feet and those awful shrieks grew louder the closer she stepped.
"Just...die!" She tried to shout, unless those were her own thoughts. She swung her sword and a gust of wind manifested. A group of four arms directly in front of her seperated at the wrist and plunged into the water, leaving bloody stumps. Those stumps would retract into the water and the shrieks continued...

Knives saw, out of the corner of his eye, that Amber had begun to run forward. So, he lunged, taking the distance in leaps rather than steps. It only took a few jumps, kicking off from the ground hard as soon as he landed, to reach his destination. He was at the shoreline in a matter of seconds, but only just before Amber. As he looked out at the....things...now rising above the water's surface, he cracked his knuckles and smirked slightly. They looked like fists; simple fists. No matter how disgusting the wounds on the palms were, Knives wasn't the least bit scared now; not like he could tell Amber was. He didn't know why she was, but he decided he'd have to help her.
Suddenly, noise. And loud noise. As the shrieks filled the air, Knives cringed greatly; his heightened hearing took a huge blow by these loud, high-pitched sounds. It felt as if his ear drums were going to burst. Everything began to blur and swim around him, as he clutched his ears to try and muffle the sound. Groans escaped him, but they were drowned out by the noise. But, through the thickness in his mind, one thought still pushed him forward: "I have to help Amber!"
He staggered forward, his ears pressed against his head, stumbling into the water. As he pushed through the lake, his feet created splashes, which got much of his body soaked before he was even knee deep; he didn't seem to notice. By the time he was waist-deep, the objects were upon him. Without any other thoughts, he slashed....and slashed, and slashed, and slashed. He kept attacking with his claws (which weren't as powerful as usual, because he couldn't concentrate his energy into them when distracted by the horrible noise...but they did their job). With each slash, another "arm" fell, having been cut in half, its middle (where the claws had hit) being completely mutilated by the claws. Knives ignored the blood in the water, he just kept attacking. He had to help Amber...
