Re: Ghost in the Bones (open)
Stella had been watching the stars reflected in the lake. Her skin had taken on the silver sheen starlight always invoked, and, not wanting to attract attention, she had ventured onto the school grounds. Yet even here there where people.
“ah well.” Stella murmured, brushing a stray lock of white hair behind her ear. “I can not avoid company for ever!” she moved towards the sound.
“good evening,” she whispered quietly. “isn’t it a lovely night?

Re: Ghost in the Bones (open)
Saori didn't notice the look in V's eyes. She didn't really notice any change in mannerisms at all, even though her eyes were focused intently, admiringly, on V. In fact, there was even a smile on the younger girl's face; and though it was just a small one, it was more than was usually seen....and was an obvious indication that Saori was enjoying being around the girl. Not to mention, she was sticking close to V, as if afraid that if she put even a foot between them she might never see her again.

"Where were you going to stay tonight?"

A frown came to Saori's face, as she thought about it. It hadn't crossed her mind yet what she was going to do. The night before had been spent at another student's dorm; but Saori wasn't going to intrude on another person if it could be helped. After a few moments of thought, she shook her head.

"I....don't know. I spent....last night with Ness..." Being so sheltered and naive, Saori had no idea that those words could mean anything but what she meant them to. "But...I don't know where to go tonight...."

She said it quite straightforwardly, not knowing what else to add. If there was any hint in there that she needed a friend to share a room, she didn't intend it. In fact, she would be quite embarrassed if V offered.....though she'd have no choice but to accept...

And then, another voice. Saori Squealed in surprise, and scurried forward, to put V between her and the owner of the voice. Her hands fell on V's arms, clinging tightly to the trenchcoat's sleeves in fear. It was going to be quite awkward when Saori realized what she was doing....but for now, she only hoped that V would save her. A few moments passed, and Saori peered around V, to look at the newcomer....a girl.

But that didn't make her less scary....no, even a tiny girl could ridicule her and make her feel terrible....

Saori didn't even register what the girl was saying, or why this girl's idea of a "lovely night" was full of miserable rain and mud.....

"With Ness?"

The name has a question in it. Perhaps V is asking whether or not Saori will stay with him (or her) again. And then, another voice. Saori darts behind Genevieve, who half-turns (so smooth, she is, and so unpracticed with it) to look at the shining girl who comes out of the leaves like a star. The lake is behind the girl; the school is behind the green-haired girl who peeks out from behind the golden-haired girl. Honey moon; moon dipped in honey.

Unshakeable composure, V half-turns her head, again, when Saori grabs the back of her trench coat; then looks at Stella, again. "It's a cold one."

A cold night. And it is, with the wind the way it is, constantly tearing at everybody and everything.

Stella's smile dropped as one of the girls darted away to hide behind the other. Her blue eyes faded to grey. "Did I frighten you?" she asked softly. "I am sorry." the wind whipped her white hair across her face, prompting her to tuck it back behind her ears.

Her eyes travelled to the other girl "cold, yes. But the sky is clear, and the stars are shining." she held her hand before her face, taking in the silver glow radiating from her skin. "And so am I, it seems." she said quietly.

She looked back to the two girls she had stumbled across. "Am i intruding?" she asked, her voice almost lost in the wind. "I apologise, I was just out walking. Her mouth tugged up in a small smile "I’m new, and just trying to find my way around this place."

She glanced from one to the other, and started to fiddle with her pendant, a sure sign she was rather nervous.

"With Ness?"

Yes, Saori had stayed in Ness's room for one night. But she was quite sure that it would not happen again. After all, though the young girl rather liked Ness, she was far too shy to ask to stay again. In fact, she was more likely to sleep outside on this cold night than to put herself in the uncomfortable position of asking anyone to let her stay in their room. Unfortunately, Saori had been unable to get these words out. Before she could even open her mouth to speak to V, the new girl had arrived, causing all of these thoughts to leave her mind. Now, all that she could do was cower behind V, shivering from cold and from nervousness.

She took the risk of sticking her head out slightly, trying to peek around V to get a glimpse of Stella. It was quite unlucky that at that moment, the other girl had looked back at her, to ask her a question. Their eyes locked for a moment - only the shortest of moments - before Saori let out a loud, frightened (though extremely cute) squeak, and ducked behind V once again, attemting to hide herself completely from view.

It wasn't that Stella was scary in some way....rather, Saori had been frightened by her sudden appearance. Like Kobita and Merciah before, Stella had seemingly snuck up on Saori - a very dirty trick, which somewhat led the poor girl to believe that Stella was trying to tease her. It was quite a good thing Saori had begun to (barely, slowly) come out of her shell - and that V was there - or else the poor girl would probably be crying right now.

Nevertheless, she remained hidden behind V.

Ghost in the Bones (open)
Stella bit her lower lip as the little girl started when their eyes met. Stella was unsure wether it was because her eyes had changed colour of just because the little one was so afraid of strangers. She looked at the other taller girl, glancing at the small one only quickly, to avoid upsetting her. she really was little, and thin, not unlike Stella herself. But the most interesting thing about her was her eyes. That was, until the slight light of the stars reflected off the little girl’s hair.

Stella smiled softly at the tiny girl. “You have very pretty hair,” she said softly, admiring it’s green sheen. Stella knew what it was like to be frightened of strangers. “I really did not mean to scare you; it is just that I did not expect to see anyone out tonight. I was rather shocked to see you both here.”

Stella sighed with annoyance as her hair blew into her face again. She drew a navy ribbon from a pocket in her skirt and attempted to tie her hair back with it. The wind tugged at her hair and ribbon alike, but at last she managed to smooth them both back. “I’m very sorry if I took you by surprise,” she said again, making sure to keep her voice soft, but daring to look in the girl’s direction again. “Would you like me to go? I can watch the stars from some other position.”
