We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

Wolfs, Cold Steel, and sake (open to anyone)
It was pitch black now, the lights from Manga High flickering off in the distance as Kaji made his way into the forest of Itami. It wasnt long after the Yearly formal that Kaji made his way there, a quick change into his crimson red kimono and everything was set. Grinning with excitment Kaji managed to smuggle some sake from Tokyo along with the katana that laid in his right hand. A night to remember! The samurai boy almost shouted, the alcohal already getting to his head.
The further Kaji went, it seemed as though the wilderness around him silenced itself. "guess its really night time then." Mumbling to himself as if trying not to wake anything up.With that Kaji lit an old japanese style latern, hanging it up on a nearby tree as he wipped out the sake as well as a sake glass for himself. It was the end of Kaji's first day at Manga High, getting wasted in a forest that reminded him of back home sounded perfect. But before he would allow himself to get hammered, daily practice of his swordmanship came first. Afterall, Master Makita back in Tokyo would kill him if Kaji slacked on practice at all!
It began with a simple unsheathing of his blade, the glow of the Japanese latern reflecting off the steel as Kata's 1-15 were preformed with Kaji's usual excellent speed and precision. By that time all that could be heared in the area was the burning of the latern and the sword strokes made by the samurai. Sake time! Sheathing the blade with respect Kaji seated himself under the tree holding the latern while pouring sake.
Merciah is making his usual rounds through the more dangerous areas arouind campus. He actully is on the trail of a creature that has been stalking the forest for sometime the past few nights. He stops suddenly, when in the thick of the forest, Merciah can see light, obviously created from an artificiaol light souce. Looking back to the tracks of the unknown creature, Merciah sees that they travel in the directin of the light. After noticing this, he quickens his pace considerably as he follows the trail.

Kaji takes another wift from his sake bottle, a little red in the face now as the latern continues to illuminate the surrounding trees of the forest. SNAP! Kaji leaps up, knowing that something was close by, his hand reaching for the blade at Kaji's side.
"Show yourself!" Kaji commands, his voice stern and focused as his body gets into fighting stance, blade held center of his body. His eyes searched around the general area of the sound, but even with the light from the latern darkness and the trees hid whatever it was. perhaps it was just an animal? like a deer or something? It was a possibility, but Kaji knew something didnt feel right about the situation at all. Kaji's sandals slowly shifted into place as his crimson kimono stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the forest area.

After the sound from what seems to be a snapping branch, there is a sound of shuffling dirt then it suddenly goes quiet.
Merciah follows the trail untill it ends, which it does abruptly, as though what ever were there just flew away, or, as Merciah comes to realize, dug underneath the ground and hid itself in wait for an ambush. Just as he realizesa what he walked into as the ground beneath him shakes and rolls and then bursts open to reveal a terrible armor-plated, bullet-shaped creature with a huge snapping maw and short powerful legs.
As the creature bursts forth it sends Merciah off balance and into the small area where Kaji stood as the creature comes down almost directly on top of him with a loud slam from the huge creatures weight. From a simple look, it must weigh atleast 2 tons.

Silence was all that could be heared once again as Kaji let down his guard, figuring it was just a small animal. SLAM! A stranger pops out of nowhere as a huge creature almost pummles the boy into the ground. "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" Kaji yelled, pulling his katana back out of its sheath. He wasnt sure what the creature's next move would be, and attacking head on what seemed to be a very well protected huge creature was not bright at all. Who gives a damn! Kaji thought daringly, lunging towards the monster with sword in hand as the latern shakes violently from the slam, almost falling off the tree as the illuminated area flickers from the shifting light.

As Kaji lunbes towards the creature it ignores him as it goes for its prey, Merciah. Just as it goes to bite down with its huge mouth, Merciah is suddenly gone, his exceptional speed allowing him to avoid becoming a meal for this creature. Just as he turns, he sees Kaji lunge at it, and hears as does Kaji, the blade ping loudly off the creatures thick armor plated body.
Standing ready to run if there is nothing to do offensively, Merciah spots the only part of the creature unprotected. And moves to strike. With almost impossible speed, Merciah moves to the creatures side, a small boom from the speed he moves as the sound reverberates off itself creating a small pressurized sonic boom.
Then just as quickly, Merciah thrusts his fist into the eye of the creature, and removes his hand, holding a liguidy object the size of a large grapefruit. With only a seconds notice, Kaji could easily see that what Merciah holds was once an eye for a very large creature.
Moving as quickly, if not fasater then before, Merciah is already on the other side of the creature doing the same thing he did on the other side, this time the sonic boom was even louder, as Merciah has already pierced the creatures eye before the first one hit the ground.
Moving his fist out with another large eyeball Merciah backs away to see how the creature reacts. They way it reacts is in no way expected by Merciah, perhaps even Kaji, but, what is it that the student with the sword is doing to defeat this creature.

Of course the heavily protected creature didnt even feel Kaji's sword strike, but that didnt matter now that this strange boy showed out of nowhere, plucking the monsters eyes from its very skull. "So thats its weak spot!" There was nothing left protecting the thing's skull though it was running around madly, almost as if it was in disbelife of what just happened. Kaji attempted to leap out of its way, but the powerful claws of the beast knocked him aside, straight into the tree with the latern, causeing it to fall over, fire spreading around the surrounding area like wildfire.
The light from the fire reflected off of Kaji's eyes, which seemed almost like they were burning themself. his kimono ripped across his chest, claw marks that were healing rapidly due to Kaji's 'unique' gift. As each claw mark closed in on itself, Kaji grasped his katana once more, pouring sake on it as the creature continued in it's frenzy state. "Nice moves, now its my turn" Kaji held the blade over the flames, lighting the cold steel on fire. "ITS OVER" Kaji yelled, grinning like a devil as he approached the creature, lunging at it once more as he attempted to bury the flaming katana in the monster's left eye socket.

Just as Kaji is ready to bury the weapon in its eye socket, as he lunges forward to make his attack the creature turns towards him, as though it saw him, even with the lack of eyes. The sharp blade pinging off the hard armor of its exoskeleton, and the creature continues forward, trampling over Kaji crushing him underneath its massive size running for Merciah.
Getting to Merciah, he stands ready to avoid it by jumping onto the massive creature, which Merciah does. But unexpectadly, the tremendous creature sends its massive size leaping into the air even higher then Merciah had jumped to get over it and smacks Merciah four times, once with each of its massive claws before landing on the ground with a tremendous impact.
The unexpected attack, and the fact that the creature kept going even when physically blinded surprised Merciah, but not so much as he would not quit the fight. Yet when the giant creature leaped unexpectedly into the air, and swatted Merciah around like a rag, he didn't know what to do as he tumbled to the ground. Slowly, and very painfully picking himself up off the ground, next to the injured Kaji after he had been trampled by the extremely heavy creature.
(Sorry, I know it's your thread, but This creature is not going to let either of us get away unhurt in any way shape or form. Especially if our characters can not figure out how to kill it.)

Kaji spurt out blood as the monster trampled him into the ground. For a moment he laid there without moving a muscle, almost in shock from the beating. Then with a turn of his head the stranger struggled to stand next to him. "So..." Kaji attempted to speak, but blood continued to trickle down his mouth and now torn up body. "The blind beast is kicking our asses!" Kaji now stood, most of the small cuts were now gone, though huge black marks covered Kaji's body. With sword back in grasp he slowly moved into fighting stance once more, as his body attempted to recover from the beating. "Lets try and stick together this time" a smirk was back on his face now, blood mixed with dirt smeared all over his torn kimono.

Looking at Kaji as he speaks, Merciah thinks about what he said. The blind beast. Yet somehow everytime they move to attack it knows exactly where they are. Turning to face the two Merciah stands still trying to think of what to do next as Kaji suggests they stick together. All the while, Merciah is trying to think of what it is they need to do, as the creature looks in there general direction but stands still appearing to be ready to make another attack.
"Wait." Merciah says to Kaji suddenly. "It isn't blind, not entirely atleast. Look, it doesn't know exactly where we are, though it has an idea. I think it can sense us somehow. It is using one of its other senses to know where we are, not sight. I have done this exact thing before, but untill we can figure out what one it is, we won't be able to defeat it."

"Right" Kaji nodded in aggrement, the monster did know that Kaji was about to plunge his sword in it's eye socket, and it knew where the stranger was when he made his own attack. "Could be a combination as well, hell i would bet on smell and hearing." After all the beast, was of course a creature of nature and it's sense of smell was more than likely far advanced compared to humans. Hearing wasnt a diffrent story. "We both did make some noise fighting it, and it knows our scent by now..." Kaji stayed motionless in his fighting stance, sword center as his eyes focused on the beast.
Still thinking what to do Merciah stands waiting, not wanting to have to take another hit like the ones he just took. As he isn't weak, it is just he would rather avoid being hit then to take one. Aswell, the four he just took, were by no means easy to deal with.
Looking around Merciah decides that they are going to have to seperate to be able to fight this foe affectively, and also because he would rather the creature target him rather this younger student.
"We'll need to seperate. Make it pick its target out of two."

Kaji almost immediatly darted off in one direction, waiting to see the creature's next move. Two senses meant two people and Kaji went for smell, throwing off the torso part of his torn crimson kimono Kaji went further back into the surrounding trees and wildlife to throw off the scent of his own blood. Still grasping his katana tight, Kaji nodded towards the stranger that he was ready to move whenever he was though he was still unsure of how to approach the creature.

The moment Kaji moved, so did the creature. Directly in the direction of Kaji. The trees that Kaji avoided, the massive creature crashed through leaving a path, and the thunderous sound of its approach. Then suddenly it was quiet.
Merciah on the other hand was still trying to contemplate what he was going to do when Kaji took off and the creature did aswell, following its prey. Turning to follow, but letting the two to travel for a few seconds Merciah followed the well made path only to here everything go quiet, and think the worse had happened.
Then Merciah comes upon where the large creatures trail ends. It is just gone, and Merciah stops. Looking around he doesn't want to walk into the wrong situation again.

"Careful!" Kaji yells towards Merciah as he closes in on the trail. "It suddenly went underground, not sure what its going to do next..." his body was already rid of some of the bruises now, though his grip over the sword was still as shaky as ever. Taking a few steps back Kaji made his way towards one of the taller trees, climbing up with haste in order to see where it might show up next. "This thing is starting to get annoying...first it decideds to crash my party, tears us up good, then plays hide and seek." The smirk on Kaji's face was replaced with a tired yet annoyed look on his face, "Just hurry up and fight us already punk!" Kaji yelled downwards at the ground, vainly attempting to insult it into showing itself.

Staying away from where it must have gone underneath,. Merciah simply stands still. "I don't think it is either hearing or smell. Yet perhaps it is more that it can feel us move, through the vibrations in the ground."
"When I was young I learned that there is a way a blind man can defend himself by feeling the movements of his opponent. One of my teachers had mastered the art of blind fighting without any of the conventional senses, other then touch. I think that is how this thing senses its prey. So in that tree, might actually be the safest place for you, but how to kill it is what I want to figure out."

Touch was the last thing Kaji had expected, but its movements through the ground certianly made sense now. "Well im not trying to be safe, killing it is my priority right now" Kaji pondered the situation for a moment.
If it cant sense me here, and he gets the monsters attention.....
Looking like he just solved a long annoying puzzle Kaji stood up and shouted downwards. "If its weak spot is the eye sockets, try and get its attention while i jump from above with my sword" It was a long shot, though it seemed possible.

Looking up to Kaji as he makes a suggestion, Merciah is in agreement. Hopefully with his speed he could prevent the huge, and amazingly agile beast from making another successfull attack while Kaji strikes from the air.
Looking to Kaji, Merciah nods at him then moves quickly to where the creature must have entered the ground. When the ground suddenly starts to move underneath him, Merciah isn't going to be caught off gaurd like he was the first time, and in such, moves at the perfect moment. He is so quick in his movement, that he literally appears to be in a new place, only 15 feet away from where he was rather then have actually moved. Just as the creature bursts out of the ground facing Merciah.
Such as its previous attack. The creature charges Merciah and amazingly once again, leaps into the air, in almost perfect position for Kaji to strike. Though he might only get this one chance.

Kaji nods back, the creature now fully exposed for an ariel attack. "HERE WE GO!" Kaji yells, jumping from above, sword drawn and ready to pierce through the beasts eye socket. As Merciah goes up, Kaji falls downwards with sword in position. Gritting his teeth tight Kaji yells once more as he lands far less than gracefull on top of the beast plunging the sword into it's left eye socket.

Just as Kaji jumps into the air he yells from above. Which even though teh creature is in mid air, alerts it. Allowing it to prepare for an attack coming from the tree. With a quick jerk of its head Kaji's ungracefull landing nearly turns him into a meal as the creature snaps at him with its giant maw. Forcing the blade to miss horribly as it pings off the frighteningly thick exoskeleton that the bullet shaped creature has all over his body.
Right about now, Merciah starts wishing that he had had the chance to control his ki as Flojo was going to try and teach him a while back. Yet not bothering himself on the past Merciah moves himself out of the way of the creature as it comes to a rough and noisy landing having been distracted from its original prey by Kaji.
"Get down, we are going to have to fight this beast another day. I believe we won't succeed today. Hurry!" Merciah exclaims loud enough for the other student to hear.

"God dammit!" Kaji yelled, grasping his sword tight he nodded towards Merciah to lead the way, maybe they could find another way to kill it soon, though both were already banged and bruised as it was. "I could use a nap anyways" Jumping down Kaji runs over to Merciah, hoping that they can outrun the damn thing
