Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Datu was drinking, when he heard her mention stuff about her not going to school before, but then when she mentioned Carebears, that's when he exploded. He suddenly started coughing at the name, as if it was his worst nightmare. After a few moments, he looked back at Hawthorne. She liked Carebears? She doesn't look the type to like it...
Trying to be polite, he straightened himself out, then replied. "Ah, the clouds. It is a great place to live. I've been there before."
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Hawthorne tried to smother her laughter when Datu started coughing. She knew why he was doing it. In her band shirts, and with her spikes and body piercing, it looked more like she would maul Carebears than watch them. She couldn't help it though, and the laughter just exploded out of her.
"You should see your face . . . heeheehee . . . it's priceless . . . heeheehee . . . Oh my gods . . ."
She couldn't stop it, she snorted. It was just too funny. She took a deep, calming breath, trying to get ahold of herself again. She wanted to refocus on what he was saying, because she was certain that it was something interesting. She muddled through her laughter, getting it under control, and then looked up at him with a face that was mostly straight, though the edge of her mouth kept quirking up.
"You've really been up into the clouds? That's amazing. I always wanted to. Just fly away from this life and be free, y'know? What made you come back down to Earth?"

Datu chuckled at her laughter, and finally settled down.
"You've really been up into the clouds? That's amazing. I always wanted to. Just fly away from this life and be free, y'know? What made you come back down to Earth?"
Datu bowed his head down; what should he tell her? He didn't want to reveal much, but the last time he did that, he lost a dear friend.... He decided that he'll tell her only this.
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN)) Orders.
Suddenly Datu took on a whole new light in Hawthorne's eyes. Instead of a friendly guy she ran into occassionally, he had wrapped himself in a shroud of mystery with one simple word. He had said he was friends with Alastair, who had been attacked by demons while they were together. Could it have something to do with that, maybe? She was so curious! She wasn't sure she should pry though, it didn't seem like he really wanted to discuss it.
She sat back up and stared intently at his face, as if searching for something. She was trying to figure out how far she could push her questions, but quickly discarded the idea. She wouldn't bother to talk to him about things he obviously didn't want to.
"Wow. Sounds intense. I wish I had that kinda purpose in life. At least when there are orders, there's no question about what your next move is. Wow."

Yeah, taking orders...being forced to kill someone who's done nothing to you...if that's Datu's purpose in life, he wished that he just didn't exist. It wasn't as easy as it sounded....Datu bowed his head down for a long moment, the air was silent. Trying to hide his feelings, he looked up at Hawthorne and smiled.
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Datu prolly thought he was being smooth, but if anyone could see through machismo it was Hawthorne. She was the Queen of hidden emotions, and her perception sliced through the boy's deception. She wondered what was disturbing him so much. Still, she gave him a shrewd look, maybe she should let him pass it off, maybe it would be easier on the boy.
"Well, maybe it's different for different people, but I always found that things ran smoother when I had someone to tell me what to do, I enjoyed it. But, I could see how not everyone would thrive in a lifestyle like that."
She was trying to get him to confide in her, without prying. If he wanted to keep his secrets tucked up close to his heart, that was his business. She wouldn't force him to share.

Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Datu made a half-hearted smile, and bowed his head down.
"It depends on what type of orders you're given...some easy to follow...some going against your beliefs..."
He was grateful to his master, but he hated orders that involve killing innocent people. And now that his master was gone..there was a void that could only be filled through getting him back. A tear rolled down his cheek at the thought, he just couldn't help it. His master meant everything to him...
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Hawthorne reached out to the boy awkwardly, she didn't really know how to comfort another person. She tentatively patted his knee, not sure why he was upset. Still, she wasn't one to judge, she freaked out way worse about the oddest things. Maybe his was similarly induced . . .
"Well, we'll soon have teachers bossing us around, and then we'll be up to our necks in orders. I think studying is definitely gonna be against my beliefs."
She was trying to lighten the mood, but she really hoped she didn't sound flippant. She was just trying to make Datu smile again. She knew she hated whoever it was that was giving him orders he didn't want to follow, especially if it was the same person who brought tears to his eyes.

Datu smiled, and rubbed his eyes. Now he feels like an idiot for getting emotional. Damn, he feels like an emo now!
"Sorry 'bout that." He drank out of his 7up, then looked back at her.
"But yeah, teachers are a bit strict around here."
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Hawthorne all of a sudden looked very concerned. The teachers were strict? What if she didn't know the proper way to behave in a public setting? She didn't want to get in trouble. What if they yelled at her? What if the work was too hard? She didn't know what to do! Ack!
"Will you help me learn the ropes when classes start up? I really have no idea what to do, where to go. I'm worried I'll make a fool out of myself, this bing my first time in school and all."

((Holy crap, you've caught up to me in post count!! ))
Datu tilted his head.
"Eh? Ropes? Ohh! Sure, it's not that hard once you get used to it." He drank out of his 7up, finishing it to the last drop. He then looked at Hawthorne.
"They just get pissed if you miss an assignment, or get a bad grade."
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
((I have a lot of SL's going. ^^ ))
Hawthorne sighed in relief. From what she'd seen of highchool situations, on TV, in the movies, in books, crankiness about course-work seemed about par. She could handle that, she was just going to have to be really dilligent in her studies. She was just embarassed 'cause she was going to be older than most of the other students in her year. There was nothing she could do about that though, but work hard.
She took another sip out of her forgotten Diet Coke, screwing the lid back on, even though it was still half full, she tucked it back into her bag. She was a hoarder by nature, and had a lot of food left in the pack. She never knew when she'd have to take off again.
"That's good. I'm glad you'll help me figure things out. After all, you were the first person I ran into here."
She grinned. It felt kinda like they had a special bond because of that, like he was a bit of a saviour himself.

Datu smiled.
"Hey, it's no problem. That's what friends are for." He put the empty 7up in her bag, and sighed with comfort.
"Thanks for the food. Want me to walk you back to school?"
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
((At this rate, I'm gonna qualify for a new power upgrade before my last one was approved.))
Hawthorne smiled and began to tidy up all her lunch stuff, tucking food into the various pockets and pouches of her knapsack.
"That would be lovely, Datu. Thank you very much."
Once all the food was away she lloked at Datu curiously. She wondered if that meant they were leaving now, or if he was going to sit and relax for awhile first.

"No prob." He started towards the school, but then hesitated and thought it over. Datu looked back at Hawthorne.
"Umm, do you want to stay here a bit longer, or just go back?" He was suddenly aware of Hawthorne's feelings, and was curious if she wanted to stay a little bit longer.
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
When Datu stood up, she carefully folded the blanket and put it into the knapsack, then rose to follow him. She was startled when he turned around to look at her, and asked if she wanted to stay longer. She barely considered it for even a moment.
"Well, we could always go for a bit of a walk, and chat some more . . . I mean, if you want to. Like, if you don't have anything else to do, or planned . . ."
She blushed bright red. It wasn't like her to just blurt things out like that, or to make a suggestion as to activities. She was getting bold in her old age, and she wasn't sure if the change was as bad as she thought it was. Perhaps it was a good thing for her.

Datu smiled. "Great! Let's take a walk around the meadow." He held out his hand, waiting for her. He was feeling so enthusiastic today. Heh, maybe not too surprising. He's still young...
He looked around the meadow, it was big, but good for social time. He wanted to get to know Hawthorne a bit more. Funny, Hawthorne was a good friend, yet he did not know much about her.
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Picking up on Datu's enthusiasm, she reached out and took his hand. She wasn't usually this friendly, or open, but she honestly liked the Philipino boy. She felt that, in some way, he could really understand her life, at least the one she had led up to this point. They were kindred spirits of a sort, and she appreciated that a lot. She grinned at Datu.
"I like this place a lot, there wasn't nearly this much green back on the reserve. Sometimes I feel like just . . . I dunno, rolling in it."
She laughed at the thought, that would be so mature, eh?

Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
Datu laughed at what she said. "Hehe, that is a fun thing to do." He looked at the sky, it was still a bit early to go back, come to think of it. Datu wanted to savor this moment with his friend. He didn't want to lose another one, and will make sure that this relationship will run perfectly.
"I usually like it for its peacefulness. Then again, this place could be a fun place to play in, too."
Re: Picnic For One . . . Or More? ((OPEN))
She grinned, and swung their conected hands back and forth between them gently. She was thinking of just running and playing with a friend in the grass. Not running for the joy of exercise like Jun-Bo did, but as part of a game, something a little more . . . childish.
"I'd like to come out here and play with you sometime, maybe tag or sommat like that, eh? But, since you've been to the clouds you can prolly fly, and that would be cheating. You'd have to jeep your feet on the ground."
Her voice was light and teasing, and she was really having fun with Datu.
