Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
One, two, three! One, two, three! The repetitive motion of practicing a form was beginning to entrance Vash into a lulled sense of awareness. He despised doing these drills, though he knew they would help with his technique. If not, then at least he was keeping fit for a fight. He would need that with his recent break for studying. He felt out of shape from simply reading so many books. His hunts had become less frequent and his need to have the wind rush past him had become more and more agitating.
One, two, three! He had been practicing a new stance that would hopefully make him a little more versatile when he went on the attack. He would lay the edge of his blade across his shoulders, outstretching his other hand for balance. His feet were in a straddling position, set with one foot in front and one foot behind him. The form was to protect himself from two attackers, one coming from the left and the other from the right. With his first movement, he slashed upwards to his left side. the second movement, with fluently followed the first, was arching the sword and coming down on his right side in a downward slash to about chest level. The third and final movement was to grab the hilt with both hands and twist the blade so that the edge was now horizontal. He continued the movement by slashing to his right and spinning until he cut both opponent's at neck level.
Though it was turning out to be a decent maneuver, practicing it over so many times only gave him so much pride in creating a part of his own form. He decided to stop, though, and take a bit of a break. His breathing was slightly heavier, but nothing terribly serious. He hadn't exerted himself that much despite having done this for about an hour now. If only he had someone to train with...
"Then again, wouldn't you thinking already be thought out, so that your thinking is involved in what you'll do? So that means if you didn't think then you wouldn't get to the same conclusion as you would if you thought about it, right? Oh well, best not to think about thinking about thinking, you think so? Well, I still say not thinking is the best way to think!" -Alex Summers, thinking about thinking

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
A slight breeze ran past Shiro as he came to a familiar tree in the meadow. He had been here before. Been there was very much an understatement. Shiro had lived, fought and died here before. He had lost his mind here and become more powerful then he could ever have imagined here. Quite clearly it was a spot of spots. He whistled as he made his way to the old crater where he had set off that bomb. Bending over and fingering the crater was a very pleasing experiance.
Standing up and looking about Shiro took slight notice of the one known as Vash, apparently training, out on the feild. "HEY...GUY!" he yelled having forgot Vash's name. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!"
"Yours are the powers of hard work and determination."

>
A voice, one that seemed to recognize him, called out to him from afar. Vash turned his head in curiosity to see who had tried to grab his attention. He wasn't sure if was safe, seeing as Vlad's forces were known for playing trick and could sneak into MHS. He wasn't entirely sure if it was a friend, ready to greet him, or a foe, ready to charge towards him. All that he knew was that he was curious to see who that voice belonged to because he couldn't put a face on it.
Once his gaze locked with the ninja's, he instantly knew who he was talking to. The name of the boy escaped him but he was certain it was the same ninja from way back when. Yakoutio had been on one of his little sprees and Vash was needed to intermediate between a particular shaman and his sudo little brother. A smirk crept across Vash's face at the familiar face and he was about to greet him when another thought popped into his head.
Picking up the sword, he slung it across his back and assumed his Soul Reaper stance he had been practicing a few moments ago. this was the type of challenge he had been looking for. This was the kind of sparring match his rage had been hungering to taste. With his free hand, he motioned for the ninja to charge him with everything he had, the smirk turning into a twisted smile as his eyes flashed that trademark crimson red.

Shiro smirked breifly. "Always with the fighting here," he said shaking his head slightly, "Time to get to work i suppose." Shiro first took out his long peice of white cloth and tied it around his lower face and neck. He then started to dash towards the man at a faster then normal pace. When he got close to the man he reached deep in to his pockets and produced four shurikens, each with something attatched to them. Letting the four shurikens fly, he zigged and zagged left and right. The shurikens were not aimed at the man however but two close to his feet and two about i foot in front of him.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
The shuriken were coming right for him and Vash knew exactly what he would do. His sword would easily deflect the projectiles and that would be the end of the skirmish tactics of the ninja. Then, he would charge towards him with all his speed and out maneuver the boy. He knew his gifts as a dunpeal would naturally out do a regular human. Now it was just a matter of timing the swing properly and bringing himself to a full out run before his opponent had time to read the hunter's own moves.
Then, something curious happened. He swiped upwards with his sword where he was sure the blade would have connected with the projectiles, but nothing did. As he spun around on his heel, he quickly looked back to see the shuriken right by his pivot foot. Then, something more disturbing caught his eye. Something was deliberately placed on those weapons and he had a horrible feeling what it might be. He needed to act fast before-
BANG!
Both the smoke bombs and their more lethal counterparts went off without a hitch. Vash, though, was more than skillful when it came to evading attacks. With the grace of his heritage backing him up, he made a one handed handspring just in time to only be caught in the back by the explosion from the regular bomb shuriken. The pressure had scratched him up a little bit, but luckily his coat was thick and took some of the blast impact away as well. The smoke bomb, however, gave Vash a bit of an advantage. He was now hidden within it's mysterious cloud and could use it as cover for his own assault. Holding the flat of his sword across his back and closing his eyes, he concentrated on the sounds around him to try and find that faint sound of the ninja's movements across the battlefield.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Ironically enough Shiro's plan was similar to Vash's. Quickly he tied two ten foot lengths of razor wire to two kunais and then threw three of them. Using his trained skills of blind fighting he is able to quite accurately predict where the dunpeal would be at that moment. coming to a complete halt he listened for movement to hear if he dodged, got hit or other wise. Shiro also focused upon the feeling from the razor wires, waiting to see if they would connect.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
The sound of the air and smoke breaking as three objects came towards him were etched in his mind. He could see it clearly in his head. The three weapons were coming straight for him at a good speed. He would need to carefully plan his movements to get around all three. So, opening his eyes for that extra, however short, distance of vision, be looked his side, anticipating the attack.
Out of the smoke came the three kunai as Vash kept his gaze on the three projectiles until the last second. The first came for his torso, which he avoided by jumping backwards just a few yards to gain that needed distance. The second was now poised for his shoulder and the dunpeal landed on only one foot before hopping back into the air. He tucked in his arms and straightened his body out, twisting in the air over the dangerous kunai. The third weapon came from a sweeping angle. It was aimed for his knees to most likely take out his mobility. Vash quickly twisted his body in the air to land on one hand, stopping his body from moving for a mere second to pivot around and then slowly drop back to his feet.
The razor wire was going to be the real problem. If Vash only knew what devious trap had been laid, it might have been different. He assumed this ninja had merely used some sort of throwing weapon. Unfortunately, the cutting edge of the wire caught his hand as he went to pull the boy towards him. It stung, but his hand would heal over. In a matter of seconds he could (barely) see his hand starting to regenerate. It would be a few minutes before it would be completely healed over, but a scab was enough to ensure it wouldn't hinder him in the fight. With the kunai now past him and his lesson learned, the dunpeal took his classic Divine Cross stance, his sword crossing over his body to protect him from harm.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Shiro felt the kunais miss their target and he also felt the abrasion of the razor wire on skin. Just as soon as he heard the movement of the sword from his opponent he lept in to the air. Shiro angled his body so that it was at a forty five degree angle. He spun around in a full three sixty creating a whirlwind of spinning kunai and razor wire. "THIS IS FUN!" he yelled with glee to his opponent.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
The whirlwind of kunai wasn't exactly expected, but Vash was prepared none the less. His Divine Cross stance was a great defense in its simplicity. Because of the smoke, his vision may have been impaired but his ears were working perfectly. The sounds of the weapons cutting through the smoke were light but distinct. He knew where he would strike and at what moment. There would be no chances for errors like he made with the shuriken bombs.
The wires would be the intended target as the kunai came swinging by. Twisting his hands quickly, the dunpeal made an upwards slash. The cut was clean and the kunai went soaring away from him, sticking into the ground violently from the momentum it had picked up. The second one came just as quickly. The hunter didn't even have to stop his swing, fluently moving from one upwards slash to the other. Again, the razor wire was cut clean through by the elegant but aged Judgment.
Now it was his turn to attack. He had played the on the defensive long enough. Vash needed to find an opening and he needed to find one quickly. This ninja had improved since the last time they had met, to a degree which was surprising for a human. Then again, Vash had vastly improved as well. Switching back to his Shadow Dance stance, the dunpeal circled around where he anticipated the ninja to be. Hopefully this movement would provide the opening he needed to attack the ninja with the flurry of blows he was so famous for.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
The tension in the lines disapeared so suddenly it threw Shiro off momentarily. Although not exactly an unexpected reaction it never the less did not help Shiro's situation any. Shiro decided that now would be a good time to try out his new technique. Lowering the his body temperature to well below freezing in his arms, He manipulated his blood flow to cuase to rather long and sharp blades began to jut out of his upper wrists.
He screamed in agony as the blades cut through his flesh. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He yelled as he tried to keep his mental focus on the blades. In the end two sharp blood red peices of ice extended from the top of his wrist. They were identical and both extended out about the length of a long sword.
Wasting no more time then nesecarry Shiro tried to home in on the sound of his opponent. He had lost it durning his painful modification. Giving up on finding him he instead set about tossing small rocks he quickly picke up off the ground. the purpose was to mimick the sound of footsteps as he tried to cover his own own footsteps in the smoke and circle to the side of his opponent.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
He could hear him in the distance. The scream was difficult to ignore. He gave himself away with the simple mistake of yelling out and now he would have to capitalise. He took a hard left, switching the sword deftly between hands before proping himself up with his right during the slide. He then switched his sword back to his main hand, putting his full speed into the charge now. As he drew close to his intended target, he lept forwards, leaning his left side back to put as much power as he could into his swing. This was going to finish it!
The blad whistled as it cutthrough the air like a hot knife through butter. The strength and speed Vash had behind the blade was immense. A surprise was waiting for the dunpeal, however. Instead of the blood curdling scream of the ninja, or the sheen of metal against metal, he felt the cold hard ground shake under his strike. Grass flew up into the air before fluttering back to earth, the force of the blow and the edge of the blade having sent it up. He had missed, or rather, the ninja had already moved. Grunting to himself, he lifted his sword back up and retook the Shadow Dance stance. Now he would have to track down the foolish ninja.
Small sounds began to litter the field, but the dunpeal knew better than to trust sound now. It was a fickle tool, to be sure, since both combatants knew how to use it. His problem was the smoke, to be certain. He needed to get out of the cloud before any kind of offense could be mounted. With that in mind, he rushed out of the smoke screen as quickly as he could. His blur was a mere memory of the hunter as he streaked out of the smoke and jumped inot a tree overlooking the scene. With his last movements until the ninja reappeared, he rested his blade across his shoulders and put his hand digging into the tree.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Shiro could feel the slash's displacement in the air. There's no way that i could possibly deflect a blow like that...Shiro thought to himself. well then perhaps ill have a go at it. Shadow thought to him. Shiro jumped backwards and out of the smoke cloud. He released control of his body and started to slump when his legs began to become wrapped in a black oozing shadow.
Quickly the shadow spread up his legs and over his entire body, forming a cocoon. It pulsed for a few seconds emitting a faint blue light, then abruptly imploded on itself revealing Shadow. Like always he was dressed in his sharp black suit and his jutte was slung around his back.
Shadow drew his out his jutte from its case on his back. "Time to play," he muttered as he gripped it with both hands. He had not fought an advisary so skilled in a long time. Concentrating on making himself intangible in the torso and upper arms/legs region, Shadow began to dissolve those parts of his body.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
The ninja had fallen right into his trap. He could feel the shadows crawling up his arm as the foolish boy ran out of his smoke screen. Then, the transformation into some shadowy figure took place. It gave Vash a few worries but he was certain his plan would still work. He looked to his arm with a quick glance. There was a good deal of energy, but not as much as he had wanted. It wouldn't matter in the end, of course, as the dunpeal knew he would eventually defeat the ninja; it was simply a matter of improving his tactics to take down his target with more efficiency.
Without another thought, Vash hopped back into the trunk of the tree and pushed off towards his adversary. Using the energy he had stored, he unleashed it in a cone of shadows. The blast was black with swirls of dark purple floating along the edges. The blast was even timed just right so that the shadow man would have the full diameter of the cone to dodge. Then, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly, Vash came in for an extra swing with his sword. He even has time to wind up while the eldritch blast was going, making the swing strong and fast. The combo would be deadly if either hit, let alone both!

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Shadow's eyes widened as he saw the attack coming at him. This time there was no escape. Nothing could be done to prevent the force of this attack. The only thing Shadow could think to do was use the force of one attack to negate the chances of a second. As the cone drew closer to him Shadow turned tail and lept with all his might, drawing off the force of the blast to send himself flying. Gritting his teeth and powering through the pain he landed on the ground with a quick few bounces.
Every inch of Shadow's body ached as he pulled himself to his feet and leaned on his jutte. If he had blood Shadow was sure it would be running out of multiple wounds. Reaching in to his pocket Shadow pulled out his small sheathed blade. It looked more like a black tube then anything. Tossing it to the feet of the man he bowed slightly.

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Vash didnt' stop for anything. The boy had thrown some sort of sheathed weapon at him, which would regularly have been peculiar, but not for this fight. His adversary had already proven to be decieving and this was just another one of his tricks in Vash's mind. After his blade struck the ground, it was an all out bull rush towards the shadow man!
He was up like a flash after his attack, dodging the thrown weapon and heading straight for shadow. Vash was there in moments, his sword pointed straight at the man's throat. The dunpeal smirked, his right hang gleaming as he knew the fight was now over. His opponent had almsot no energy left, or so it seemed, and one false move would make him skewered on the tip of his sword. It was over...
"Good try," Vash noted, "but not good enough."

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
It was a matter of seconds for Shadow to switch his intagibility away from his legs to his throat and head. Stepping in to the blade quickly Shadow raised his jutte towards the man's crotch, stopping just short of his nether region. He had just expended more then a good portion of his considerable engergy and a sudden wave of nausea swept over him "True enough, considering I had already given up," Shadow said while lowering his weapon. Phasing through the blade, he sat down in to a meditative position. "You know, an offered weapon is a sign of defeat," Shadow said casting a glance up towards the man, "Although I don't blame you for suspecting otherwise."
Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Vash's guard was almost thrown off by the move Shadow had made. He had never expected him to go intangible. He had seen the man before, but he had never previously been able to fight with him. It was a lesson he would remember for the next time they sparred. For now, his jutte was around his crotch. The dunpeal didn't even flinch, confident in his last attack wearing down his opponent enough. The man then stopped and sat back; Vash had won.
"You know, an offered weapon is a sign of defeat," Shadow said casting a glance up towards the man, "Although I don't blame you for suspecting otherwise."
Cultural barriers were always a problem at MHS. One thing you did could mean another, so it was crucial you acted in a very open manner. Using cultural references was usually bad, unless it had an explination to go with it. If it didn't, confusion would often settle in.
"I would say," Vash commented with a smirk. "That it would be more appropriate to offer the weapon you are using."

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
"Unlikely...," Shadow said with a puff. His suit had been scuffed. It would of course reappear the same as it did everytime he came in to this world, but for now it was a aesthetic annoyance. He put his finger through a little whole in his jacket and wiggled it around. "So...good fight then I suppose," Shadow said giving a small bow as he started to fade away. The darkness running in to the eyes as Shiro began to re-appear. There he sat pristinely, looking as if nothing had just happened. The ice blades had long since sunk back in to his arms leaving to wide, unbleeding gapes in his flesh. They would heal over like they always did in due time, assuming he didnt reopen the wounds. "Tactical error...He's so useless at range," Shiro said.
"Oooof!" Shiro muttered as he laid back on to the grass, "Man I wish I could go back to my room and rest."
Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
From Shadow to Shiro, the boy had tranformed back into his former self. Vash ahd found him more compitent in a fight, however, he had not gotten to see the full potential of Shadow's skills. He might have been a great fighter, but simply was overwhelmed by the hunter. It was difficult to tell with such a short battle against the suited man. He was impressed with his intangability and couldn't help but wonder if that would have been a crucial factor to their fight. Why had his shadow attack hit but not his blade? It was a mystery that only time would solve, he supposed.
"Tactical error...He's so useless at range."
"It seems so," Vash said, still contemplating the encounter, "though it seems that his skills are simply lacking compared to mine."
"Man I wish I could go back to my room and rest."
Vash's eyes scanned the boy's arms. They were heavily damaged in the fight when those blade had come out. The dunpeal was sure it would heal with time, but to go back to his room wouldn't be the smartest idea ever. It was most likely safer to head out and get some proper treatment before resting. Ms. Hanabishi would be the perfect person to see.
"I believe it would be best if you had your arms inspected by the nurse before you go back to your room and rest. Will you need assistance?"

Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)
Shiro held up his two fore arms so he could see them. "Nah, it'll be alright," He said as he pulled out two wrappings from his pocket. The wounds were then wrapped up tight, and with no blood flowing out it was an easy task. "All I really need is a nap. Unfortuntley my room has been....invaded...and no longer is under my posession."
He finshed taping the wounds up and looked up to the victor of the fight. "What can you do eh? If it were two guys I'd just kick them out forcefully yeah? Bt two girls man....A little more tricky," Shiro said well scratching the back of his head.
Re: The Way of the Shadow (HITS)"Nah, it'll be alright. All I really need is a nap.
Vash cocked an eyebrow at this as the boy bandaged up his arms. Did he have some sort of regeneration power like himself? He wanted to believe it, but then why didn't he use it during the fight? Maybe it was only for that technique? Too many question and not enough time to ask them all. He decided to let the subject slide and assume the boy knew more about his own limitations than the hunter did.
"Unfortuntley my room has been....invaded...and no longer is under my posession. What can you do eh? If it were two guys I'd just kick them out forcefully yeah? But two girls man....A little more tricky."
Vash nodded in agreement. Women were delicate and complicated things sometimes, needing just the right words or actions to not have the entire kitchen thrown at you. He could barely deal with one for the most part, let alone two? The boy was in for some serious trouble if he expected to get that room back. Then, an idea struck!
"If you can make it up the stairs, I have a free bed. My roommate seems to have disappeared during my absence."
