Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Amber looked at the young girl and said somethig in Japanese, most likely a repeat of what the skeleton said to her. Ria smiled and made a salute.

"M'kay, onee-chan!" And with that the girl over to the punchbowl, and most likely to ask a werewolf a hundred questions.

Amber bowed her head at the skeleton as she usually did for anyone she met. Even bones need respect.

"I'm Amber Ramius. Sorry, my sister is very hyper...It's nice to meet you."

Yakoutio walked slowly up to the skeleton stopping behind him just as Ria ran past him though he didn’t pay any notice, he stood still looking up at him with awe.

“How are you alive?” Yakoutio asked, “How can you even talk? And how can you live while being separated from your body? This is so interesting!”

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
The skeleton looked to Yakoutio and shook his head.

"Excellent, another one! I need a drink..." he exclaimed, walking over to the table full of drinks.

Vash on the other hand was walking around the room and greeting everyone he met. It seemed as though he was looking for someone as he made his way through the crowd. He quickly put his hat back on, feeling a little naked without it. As he adjusted it he bumped into someone.

"Huh?" Vash said, looking to see who he had hit.

The woman he had run into was slender and poised. She had a long, contour fitting dress on with a chinese style to it. A large black and gold dragon was stiched in to the side all the way up. She looked quite pale and had a deep red lip stick on. Her eyes were closed and cold, yet as she saw Vash they opened up and looked inviting.

"Vash...?" she said, looking at him.

"Good to you see Ani." the young hunter replied, smiling a little.

"I can not believe you you-you-you..." she said, looking at him angrily as she got up.

"I had some thinking to do..."

"We were worried sick. My father told me you were safe, but you still should have been here on time. Even if you had sent word. I can not believe you would do something as stupid as that!"

"Sorry...I just...Nevermind..."

Ani then sighed, knowing exactly why Vash hadn't come. It was frustrating to think about, but Vash had always been like that since he had escaped Tepes. If he had shown up, it probably would have been a surprise that would have worried them more. It was one of his little traditions.

"You may be embarassed about your birthday, but you need to open up sometime!" she said, tapping her foot in a frustrated manner.

Yakoutio looked put off by the fact that the skeleton had walked away from him and now he had an even worse dilemma on his hands, the choices were amassing on him to do something and he couldn’t decide what.
Either he could go talk to Ria whom he found more and more funny as time passed him, see if he could drink more than a skeleton, go take notes on all the intriguing and strange races or stay and talk to Amber.

“How come Ria acts like that?” Yakoutio asked Amber, “I mean all I did was ask him because I was interested as a scientific observer, but Ria. She acts like such a child”.

Amber placed a finger on her cheek, looking thoughtful.

"Ah...actually Yakoutio, she's always been like that. Ever since we we met. And somehow it rubbed off on mom at times."

She glanced over at her mother, who was on her...well Amber was not too sure how many shots she had so far, but her mother was still going. She sighed and looked over at Vash talking to another woman. She was quite pale but very pretty; even her dress matched the atmosphere. Amber felt something twinge in her...but she wasn't sure what it was.

She tilted her head curiously, watching them.

Yakoutio shrugged, as he couldn’t understand it himself, he had always viewed himself as a mature person, sometimes he slipped up and his younger side got the better of him but at least he tried to control himself.

He looked back to Amber to see that she was looking at something behind him so he turned to see Vash speaking to someone, she seemed to be very annoyed at Vash though, for some reason unknown to him.

“I’m going to speak to some people” Yakoutio said as looked back to Amber, “Maybe even get to know your mother, is it okay if you introduce me I mean we didn’t exactly start on the best of terms”.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
"That is not exactly why I left." Vash said, looking down at the ground. "It may not be the ebst of reasons, but I can assure you it was necessary for me."

"I trust you Vash. I always have." Ani replied, smiling a little as she hugged him. "I am simply glad you are back where you belong."

Vash then froze, not even hugging his friend back. The words had struck him like a sharp knife to the heart. He stood there, motionless in thought. It was as if death had him in it's icy grip.

...where you belong...

Vash had no clue where he belonged. Was it here, or was it back at Manga High? Maybe protecting his mother, or keeping watch over his friends? He had made so many promises that he was unsure that he could keep them all. A promise to become a hunter, a promise to attend Manga High, a promise to kill Tepes, a promise to protect Amber...So much was on his shoulders, yet he never showed it. He then looked over at his two friends for a second ebfore snapping out of his daze.

"Yes...Of course." Vash finally answered with a smile.

"Well, I am sure it feels nice to be your fellow hunters once more."

"We know as well as I do that we are not hunters, Ani."

"You have slain as many beasts and demons as some of the older members Vash. You deserve the title."

"I deserve nothing unless your father deems as much."

"My father is a fool. He does not see what everyone else sees. He is in denile of your strength, Vash. You are a hunter, if not in title then in spirit."

"I do not wish to speak of such things today. Today is a time to rejoyce."

Ani then looked down for a second. It seemed she felt bad for the dunpeal. Her father was the leader of the hunters and was either ignorent of Vash's potential or in denial of it. Vash didn't seem to mind, though. His loyalty seemed strong, though it was certain he felt resentment for not being deemed a true hunter.

"I suppose you are correct. Shall we, then?" Ani said, taking Vash's arm and walking towards a larger group of hunter.

Vash tipped his hat in agreement and they were both off intot he group. The hunters immediately welcomed Vash and wished him a good year and a happy birthday. Vash simply nodded in agreement and they began to talk of what the dunpeal had missed. Politics within the guild was an important matter even for someone who was only a hunter to be.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Amber was quiet at first before she finally turned away to face Yakoutio; and somehow it took a lot more effort than it normally had to. The winged girl smiled at him. It amazed her sometimes how mature Yakoutio was, especially compared to her sister.

"Of course, re-introduction. Don't be surprised if she spouts weird things...she's just tipsy."

Amber took Yakoutio's hand as she usually did, quickly leading her over to her mother. Neither the vampire nor Ciana were ready to give up. A breif respite from round two of shots, Ciana turned to her daughter and smirked.

"Not giving up yet little wing. I found my match!" She said with a slight slur at the end. Her sapphire blue eyes locked on Yakoutio. She reached out and poked his forehead. "Oh, the cute little smart-ass chibi!"

Amber bowed her head again, embaressed.
"Mom..."

“I may be a smart ass but… eh fine whatever call me cute too it flatters me” Yakoutio sighed, he saw that Ambers mother was drinking his favourite type of whiskey, and but a second ago she had told him not to drink his alcohol, what a hypocrite.

“If you wanted a real challenge I could drink more than you and the vampire put together,” Yakoutio said, “Why did you want to stop me? You’re not my mother”.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Ciana smirked at the kid. He was still the smartass she met the first day. Amber had told her Yakoutio was much more mature than his age would let on. The blond woman reached out patted his head, as she would for Ria.

"It's perfectly okay for me and Mr. Vamp here to drink because we're adults." She said gently, mirroring the way that Amber would usually speak, except for the slight slur. "You're still so young, you don't need to harm yourself with stuff like this. You got your youth."

Amber looked between Yakoutio and her mother, and turned to find an empty chair to pull over. She knew why her mother drank so much; but then anyone facing what she was would probably do the same...or worse. Amber sat down smoothing her dress and staying silent, even more so than she usually is.

Ciana smiled again, followed by a hiccup. "Excuse me. Anyways, I may not be your mom, but I gotta say and do what I feel is right. I wouldn't feel right to have you drink things like this."

She glanced over at Amber, staring at her for a moment.
"You okay little wing? You're quiet."

Amber only nodded. "Yeah. I'm okay."

The vampire across Ciana poured another shot for himself and for the woman, the sound of poured alcohol called Ciana's attention again.

"Round three. You're still up for it?"

Ciana grinned, picking up the class. "You bet. Kampai!"

And so started round three. Amber watched in quiet amusement. She had never seen her mother so...spirited in a long, long time.

Yakoutio growled slightly as he searched for a seat too though finally he found an unoccupied one, walking up to it he was about to pick it up when some sort of demon in a robe grabbed it before he could. Yakoutio looked around weakly before seeing another seat but various creatures got in his way cutting him off from Amber and Ciana, Yakoutio tried to push through but he couldn’t as much as he tried so finally he had to wait for them to walk away though the seat was gone.

“This is annoying” Yakoutio sighed before turning to another one walking up to it and looking around cautiously before picking it up and walking briskly back over to Amber putting it down between her and her mother as he turned to her once more.

“Come on let me have some” Yakoutio complained, “The Lycun guy broke mine and it cost me thirty pounds I need to get it's worth back somehow”.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Vash finally made his way otu of the crowd of hunters after seeing "who killed the biggest Glabrezu". Seeing as he hadn't yet taken that feat of bravery, he took his leave. The dunpeal then looked around the room for his mother to see how she was doing. He had not seen much of her since they arrived and he was feeling a longing to talk to her for just a short while. Maybe it was because he hadn't seen her that much since he moved to Manga High like he anticipated.

Vash then spotted his mother talking with Grimlock in a corner of the room. He wondered what exactly the two were discussing over there. The large black wraith was a bit of a contrast to Emily, but the larger contrast was the fact Grimlock, leader of the hunters, was talking to his mother. He quickly dismissed it, though, and wandered over to the refreshments table to grab a glass of wine. He saw Ciana making an ass of herself, trying to out drink a vampire. If noly she knew the undead couldn't pass out from alchool consumption, it might have been a good show.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Ciana downed another shot and mused over Yakoutio's request. After a moment, she poured a small amount in an empty shot glass and handed it to the boy.

"I'm probably gonna regret this later," she said with a smirk. She looked over at her daughter again.

Amber's hand were clasped on her lap and her eyes fixed on her pendulum. The sounds of party had melted away as she seemed lost in her own world. Her mother was finally enjoying herself, so was Yakoutio (to an extent) and Ria. That was all that mattered to her.

Ciana took one last shot and pushed the glass away. It was not that she had given up, it was the fact that she probably was going to not enjoy the hangover in the morning. The woman smiled.

"I concede to you, Mr. Vamp."

“Come on you can out drink the undead” Yakoutio laughed after drinking his small amount, “If you wont I certainly will”.

Yakoutio had no idea why he kept doing it but all he wanted to do was push Ambers mother to the limit even though it would annoy her, he didn’t want to do it just to be spiteful, it was because of some other reason not even Yakoutio knew of, it was a very strange feeling.

“Let’s go Mr. Vamp you and me,” He said forcefully.

Re: Tradition...(continued...again)
Bash watched the small child as he attempted to challenge one of the vampires to a drinking contest. Did they just not learn? He smiled a little, admiring Yakoutio's spirit but he would ultimately lose. That is, if no one caught him drinking, which was unlikely. Vash then looked to the drunken yet displeased face of Shadowfang. As he stummbled over, Vash snickered a bit as he swirled his glass of wine and took a sip. The werewolf quickly grabbed the shot glass from Yakoutio, downed it in one gulp and then handed the glass back to him.

"Just took a bullet for ya buddy!" he said in a slurred manner and then winked.

Vash simply chuckled to himself. He knew Yakoutio wouldn't be happy about the fact children couldn't have strong alchool around here. Ani then slowly crept up on Vash and looked over his shoulder at the child attempting to get some hard liquor. She quickly poured a glass of wine and joined Vash in the very sweet necter of alchool.

"I suppose these people are your friends?" she asked Vash.

"Yes. They have been quite hospitable during my stay at MHS. I am quite sorry for not introducing you to them immediately." he apologized.

Vash then led her the few steps it took to reach the others. He looked them over quickly before smirking in a sort of embarassed manner. Ciana was already starting to look tipsy, Yakoutio was relentless in getting some liquor, Ria was still playing twenty questions with anything moving and Amber was sitting solumnly in another world.

"This would be Amber and Yakoutio, my friends form school." he said, motioning to each in turn. "The other two are Amber's family, Mrs. Ramius and her sister Ria."

"A pleasure." Ani said, bowing slightly politely and extending a delicate hand to shake hands with anyone who wished to.

Humming a song, something unfamiliar but dear to her. Sh snaped out of it of course, when Vash was introducing the woman to them. Ciana shook her hand first, of course.

"So sorry dear, I had a little more than I should've," she said, a slight slur at the end of her sentance again. She politely excused herself, probably to drink water, though she knew othing would stop the later effects. Ria did wave, but her short attention span allowed her to pounce questions to one of the medusas now.

Amber looked to Vash then to the woman, almost as if she did not know what to say. That feeling twinged again, the one that she couldn't think of what exactly it was. The winged girl took her hand and shook it, then bowed her head. Shyness got the better of her again.

"Ah...Nice to meet you." She said softly, "You're another of Vash's friends, ne?"

Yakoutio was disappointed that his drink had been taken from him again but it wasn’t because he hadn’t gotten to drink it, it was because he hadn’t gotten to drink it in front of Ciana so he would get told off for it once more.

“Why can’t anyone just tell me what to do?” Yakoutio thought sadly but his attention was changed immediately to the new person who was now speaking to them without him noticing.

"You're another of Vash's friends, ne?"

Yakoutio stepped in front of Amber taking the woman’s hand and shaking it firmly though he had no intention of hurting her, just to show her how glad he was to meet her.

“No way I bet you’re Vash’s girlfriend aren’t you?” He said half joking as he did.

Ani giggled at the little kid's responce. He was cute, she had to give him that. He looked like a little Vash wanna-be to her. The leather jacket, dark shirt, and various tools of the trade along with a cross pendant made it seem all but impossible not to believe the kid looked up to his dunpeal companion.

"Well aren't you a cute one." she said, smiling and rubbing his head a little. "I think you're missing a hat, though."

She giggled once more at her observation. A joke for a joke, she supposed. The only was, both rang some truth. Vash simpyl looked uneasy about the topic, taking larger drinks from his wine glass now.

It was fortunate enough that Yakoutio stepped in front of her seated form, blocking view of Amber's expression. She bowed her head again, quietly musing over the woman's response of Yakoutio's so-direct question. The sound of the party, the voices, the laughter vanished. All she could hear was the sound of her own heart beat. She slowly clasped her hand over the unearthly gold cross around her neck.

What's wrong with me...?

It took everything she had so try and remain her calm self again. She peeked over Yakoutio's shoulder to the girl, then to Vash, who seemed a bit uncomfortable. She still couldn't find the words to speak yet, but words have a way of coming back eventually.

Yakoutio squinted at the woman as he released her hand.

“You touched me” He said bleakly before walking away from her sitting back in his seat next to Amber, if there was one thing he hated more than anything it was strangers touching him, taking out a bottle of whisky from inside his coat he carefully looked around for the troublesome Lycun before taking a large swig.

“Hey Amber what’s wrong” He asked after realising that something was wrong with her.
