Re: Sophomore English 1st Period
Hisoka was supposed only just a bit that students were still coming in. It was only then that he took notice of Ciara. Wasn't she said to be absent? He thought to himself as he found himself unknowingly staring at Ciara with his green eyes.

Hisoka was staring for so long that he didn't even notice that he was leaning a tad to far back in his chair until he fell backwards. He was sure that everyone noticed him so he quickly picked himself up and sat back down. He glanced sideways at Ciara and was still not saying anything. But at least he wasn't going to fall again.

Re: Sophomore English 1st Period
While setting her backpack on the ground next to her chair, Ciara notices that she has an admirer. She gives Hisoka a mischievous wink, grinning as she pulls a spiral notebook and mechanical pencil out of the backpack. She's sure the teacher will announce to all the students what they'll need for the class and, since Ciara hasn't gone shopping for school supplies yet, it would be a good idea to figure out what she's going to need before she gets too much farther into the school year.

Before her thoughts get much further, she winces as Hisoka's chair clatters to the ground. She giggles softly and glances back to Hisoka as he picks himself up. She leans toward him and quietly asks, "Are ye alright, dearie? 'Twas quite a spill ye took."

"Are ye alright, dearie? 'Twas quite a spill ye took."

Hisoka blinked a few times at her. He then quickly regained his composure. "Oh I'm ... fine." He said as he had stretched his arms back and then winced. He grabbed his left side. "Really I am fine. This gun shot wound is nothing." He didn't mean to say that last part out loud.

Hisoka relaxed and he placed his hand back on his deskand acted as if nothing happened.

Re: Sophomore English 1st Period
Dimitri watched the incident with mild amusement; how anyone could become so enchanted by a lady's presence that they fell out of their chairs was something even he had to laugh at. To him, it was downright pitiful.

Quote:
"Oh I'm ... fine. Really I am fine. This gun shot wound is nothing."

"Then why'd you just do that?" Dimitri asked, the question of course was rhetorical. "If it was nothing, you wouldn't have just been in pain. You say one thing, your body language says another . . . "

His voice trailed off, still retaining the cold, apathetic tone. Though, now he was pondering something else. Something that managed to hold his curiousity long enough that he decided to pursue the matter with all due haste.

"Though . . . what I am wondering . . . is why one such as yourself would be in a position to receive a gunshot wound . . . "

She had quietly been listening to the conversations around her, the names familiar and unfamiliar to her. The exchange students she would have to update in her database, she thought with some glee.

Oops, but her name had not been called!

The girl reading Candide placed the open book down on the desk and shot her hand up in the air.

"Yosh, Kanami Miyamoto!" She said in a boisterous voice that sounded both cheerful and energetically commanding if it was at all possible.
And then she went back to quietly reading.

Isamu and Yoko ran down the halls side by side. They knew that they would both be late for class the first day, why? They were usually late when it came to things such as class. Isamu had carried the supplies in a small bookbag and yoko simply directed the two in their panic.

"We really need to stop this late night partying!"

"I know, maybe only on weekends?"

"For now!"

The first day of class was considered important, and they were late. As they burst through the classroom door panting they were sure everyone would look at them weird.

"We're here, forgive us for being late!" The twins yelled in unison. The cat was out of the bag now, if nobody had yet made the connection between them, the would now. It was strange to see the two act this way, they were usually carefree and didn't respect rules, but it seemed liked the corporation did something right.

A few minutes before the twins had crashed into the room, Gabriel had walked into the classroom as soon as the teacher had finished. Why was he late? He had near the door for quite some time, yes he had warmed up to some people, but he hadn't felt ready for something like this yet. But something inside him pushed him to go in, so he did.

"Pardon me for my tardiness, but I am here. Student name, Gabriel Edwards."

Gabriel bowed to the teacher as he spoke and decided to take a seat near the middle when something stopped him in his tracks. It was HIM, the boy from his first day. Gabriel wanted to do nothing more than attack him, but he held back.

After all, this was a school and people were watching. Gabriel's hidden fury had been unleashed only once in his lifetime, and it was something he was sure this guy would bring out. It was something he didnt want anyone to see. He took his seat near the one person he knew, Kaji.

He had almost fallen back asleep when three other students barged in out of nowhere, obviously late. But before the unison twins came a familiar sight, Gabriel the angel kid as Kaji recalled giving a friendly nod as he took a seat next to him. "Little late huh?" Kaji mumbled, still half-asleep.

Though he would back to sleep if it werent for these two, acting like those creepy twins you see on staturday morning cartoons, not to mention all the anime Kaji watched as a kid. With that thought kaji made a attempt to stay awake to show that he wasnt going to ignore his friend's presence. friend...i havnt used that word in some time now

He found it strange that he considered this angel kid a friend of his, but of course what else can you do but cling onto the only people you know. "For a second there i thought you were going to skip class." Kaji laughed, Gabriel seemed far too gentleman like to do such a thing.

"Really I am fine. This gun shot wound is nothing." Gunshot wound? Ah well, it was really none of her business. After all, she wasn't under any sort of obligation to be overtly solicitous of the boy. He was old enough to take care of himself. When Dimitri cut in, however, she was more than inclined to listen to him talk. After all, accents were always interesting and Ciara had never before heard a German accent.

"Though . . . what I am wondering . . . is why one such as yourself would be in a position to receive a gunshot wound . . . " The question made sense, as far as most questions do. Ciara also found herself interested in the answer and turned her attention back to Hisoka. "'Tis a fine point."

"'Tis a fine point."

Hisoka sighed, he hated drawing attention to himself. He brought his left hand to his forehead and then ran his fingers through his sandy blond colored hair. He closed his eyes for a moment then opened them and looked at Dimitri and Ciara. "look I didn't go getting shot on purpose alright?" He said.

"In fact I should have just stayed out of it. It wasn't my business that a girl was getting assaulted by two dorkish thugs." He said. He then looked at his desk. "I-I don't know why I helped out. It is not something that I should care about. At least not anymore." He added. Hisoka looked at them again.

"I tried to warn them to not get near me but they didn't listen. When someone shows to much negative emotion something happens, something really bad. It's a thing I can not always control." Hisoka said and he rested both his arms on the desk and gazed up at the ceiling. He didn't know why he was telling all this and he didn't know why it wasn't bothering him doing it. But he kept going.

"They advanced on me and their anger was to much, it flooded into me and forced a lot of energy out and pushed them both back against the wall of a building. Then they shot at me." Hisoka said. Hisoka then looked at them again. "But it is no big deal!" He had said just a bit louder then normal.

"Only two shots hit me. One in the leg and the other in my side. The rest hit my energy barrier and bounced back and hit them. They ... well, I don't know if they died or not I just ran for it. But I am fine okay You don't need to worry about me." He said. Hisoka rested his chin on his arms. "Don't need to worry about me at all because ..." Hisoka couldn't say the rest of it. It's because I am no longer alive. He thought to himself.

Hisoka's eyes watered just a tiny bit, he shut his eyes in an attempt to not let the tears go any further. Stop!Stop!Stop! He was yelling in his head. I am not human anymore so stop! He kept telling his mind to stop his tears. His eyes did stop watering and when he opened his eyes only one tear made it out. "Dang it." He said as he sat up and wiped the tear away trying to act like he was itching his eye by rubing it.

Kanami puts the book down again and seems to stare off for a moment. In fact, she was paying attention to various snippits conversations around her, all while "admiring" the mini-camera hidden in her keychain; one in the shape of a Buddha holding a rainbow-colored gem.

"For a second there I thought you were going to skip class."

"'Tis a fine point."

"Only two shots hit me. One in the leg and the other in my side..."

An amalgam of voices and that was all she could come up with. The little camera Buddha held would be able to take pictures of the many students in the class; including Isamu. Kanami held back all urge to grin: fun to play with, she thought.

"Interesting people in this class..." she whispered to herself before dropping the keychain into her backpack squeezed in a little more of Candide.

"Consequently, those who say everything is well are uttering mere stupidities; they should say everything is for the best."

Kaji turned his head, still with a smirk from talking with Gabriel when he noticed something familiar from his homeland. A buddha? The girl holding the keychain buddha seemed as if she was in her own little world, holding onto her possesion like it held some great value be it sentimental or otherwise. Turning around Kaji waved at the girl, obviously going to ask her a question. "So are you buddhist?" Kaji inquired, still drowsy as he managed to speak up just enough to be heared.

X-oshi's atention spiked when he heard someone say,

Quote:

He shot up from looking down at his desk and looked in the general vincinity of where the comment came from.

With shifty eyes X-oshi, looks at the person who possibly could have said it.

"Energy barrier huh, he says quietly, I wonder...?"

"You could say that. Good principles based on human endeavors. Admirable."

She replied, her eyes still on her book. Friendly conversation was a natural act of a normal high school student, might as well give it a damn try. Kanami dropped the book in her bag and smiled at him.

"So not-morning person, are you? Do you follow a religion, a faith? Principles?"

"So not-morning person, are you? Do you follow a religion, a faith? Principles?"

Kaji nodded, "Buddhisms big in Japan, so guess i cant say im entirely not buddhist, like you said before, good principles are what catch my eye when it comes to Buddha."

Taking in a breath Kaji took a moment to actully get a good look at the girl he was talking to. not bad Of course Kaji kept such thoughts to himself as he thought of the best way to describe his feelings on faith.

"Faith in a higher power or enlightment was lost to me years ago..." Hesitantly he explained himself further. "Orphens like me had it rough, so you could say that my principles could be considered my own code of bushido." Kaji had completly zoned out now, To be stong? to protect others? Why did I become a swordsman? He never dwelled deeply on his own way of life, but of course no one ever bothered to ask.

"I rely on myself to put it plain and simple." Kaji found some new resolve in his answer, one too predictable for a lone wolf. Though both the morning and his lack of thought on himself were getting the best of Kaji he still managed to put on a half decent smile.

Re: Sophomore English 1st Period
Hisoka's story would normally draw sympathy or admiration from the listener. Praise for helping someone out without expectation of reward, etcetera. However, he was sharing this story with Dimitri. Who was nowhere near 'normal' or anything close to such a label. Nor was he the most sympathetic individual on the face of the earth; a fact that was about to make itself very, very clear . . .

Quote:
"...But I am fine okay You don't need to worry about me."

"Oh you really needn't worry yourself over that; I don't. I was simply curious. You don't seem like the type to be in such a situation . . . " Dimitri answered coldly, perhaps being just a tad too harsh with his reply. Still, he was being honest . . . albeit brutally so. Then again, he wasn't exactly renowned as a good samaritan.

"For one, it's your own fault if you couldn't intimidate them. For another, simply trying to tell them to knock it off was by far the dumbest thing you could have done. If they were doing something illegal to begin with, I highly doubt getting scolded by some teenaged punk was going to make them stop. If anything, even approaching them was poor judgement at best . . . "

....ooookay .... evidently, Dimitri wasn't the nicest person in the world .... or the most sensitive ....

"Furthermore, from the sounds of it the only, only reason you're still alive is because of sheer luck. In addition, the lack of attention you paid to whether they escaped alive or not is deplorable . . . " Dimitri was starting to wear a wicked little grin now, " . . . after all, in situations like that, if someone tries to kill you; you'd best make sure they don't live to try again. I've had my fair share of would-be muggers in the past . . . and there's pieces of them scattered all throughout the state. So do yourself a favor the next time you're stupid enough to play hero, and don't fuck up."

Re: Sophomore English 1st Period
Ciara listens avidly to Hisoka's tale, her brow furrowed in both confusion and concentration. It was admirable that he would risk his life to help someone else, but it was also a foolhardy mission given Hisoka's physique and powers. She could understand, though, the want to help others that are less fortunate, but Ciara would never dream of entering any sort of scuffle where she wasn't relatively sure of her success.

Still, when the tear rolled down his face, Ciara reached out sympathetically and pats his arm gently. "'Twas verra noble of ye, but still no' a verra good idea." Not sure of what else to say, she withdraws her hand.

Then Dimitri starts in... It's difficult for her to repress her snickers as he lays into Hisoka, but she's stil torn between whether or not she should back Dimitri or Hisoka. They are both right, in their own ways.

Everything that Dimitri said was true but all that it was doing was making him madder. He smiled briefly at Ciara when she patted his arm. However that smile faded when he sat back in his chair. "Luck huh?" Hisoka said in a calm voice. "I don't think it was luck at all." He said. "And I don't think they will be getting up anytime soon. There was t much blood." Hisoka said.

Hisoka laid his head back down on his desk and as he did a folded up paper fell out of his pocket and glided slowly to the ground near Ciara's desk. As it landed the paper came unfolded enough to show the words death. If someone was to open it it would show Hisoka's name, the date he was born and the date he died which was two years ago.

"Well it clearly wasn't a result of any amount of aptitude or skill on your part, as you've admitted yourself that you can't control your power . . . " Dimitri answered, somewhat irritably since he was trying to ignore the fact that he managed to live through the ordeal by a power he can't control. "You're lucky the power worked, lucky that whoever the two thugs were had lousy aim, or both. Stop deluding yourself into thinking you had the situation under control, when by your own admission that was far from the case."

Quote:
"And I don't think they will be getting up anytime soon. There was too much blood."

"And how can you be sure? Hmm? Some parts of the body will bleed profusely at even the most minor wounds, the head is a good example. Hit someone in the head with a stone, and there will be more blood than most people see in a lifetime. Even if it never touched bone. Or, how do you know they didn't have a cell phone on them? Couldn't they have called for help after you left? How do you even know they were dead at all if you didn't walk over to them and make sure they were dead? Either slit their throats or break their necks next time, don't just assume your opponent is dead ... otherwise, you may very well find yourself getting shot in the back ... "

Kaji couldnt help but overhear the kids bickering off in the back, one who seemed way too full of himself was preaching something about making sure your enemy was dead before running off. In fact it started to annoy him as well, "Excuse me, gotta go speak with this guy so i can go back to sleep." Kaji raised himself out of his seat, walking over to the three conversing.

don't just assume your opponent is dead ... otherwise, you may very well find yourself getting shot in the back ... "

"Sounds like your used to that" Kaji replyed, still half-asleep, yawning while he spoke. Looking over his shoulder at the other boy Kaji nodded, almost as if he were asking permission to say what he thought about the situation. "Regardless they are not a problem now right? If they didnt die, kill em later, if they did it doesnt matter." Kaji spoke bluntly, his eyes studying the three as if his life depended on it. It might one day...

Other students who were part of the class began to turn in there chairs to listen. X-oshi had rose from his chair to listen to the group speaking.

The kid with the chain reminded him of Yakoutio.

X-oshi's words began to string together in his mind.
"And if he is like him that mean im probably gonna have ta deal with him, the way I would with Yakoutio."

X-oshi had quite the determined look on his face.

don't just assume your opponent is dead ... otherwise, you may very well find yourself getting shot in the back ... "

"I would love to see someone try and pull that shit on me."
He said to himself.

He began to chuckle to himself.

He quickly eyed the boy with the chain. And began to speak with the utmost confidence in his voice. X-oshi's back was straight and his head a little low.

"Tell me... what would you do if some fool shot at you in da back."
He smirked when he finished talking.
