Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

"I'm still saying my father has something to do with this... However, saying it was chance leaves a much more pleasant feeling in my stomach." He leaned back some, putting his hat backwards.
The pain in his back was fading away to nothing throughout this conversation. His brown eyes fell on Amber again. "I'm sorry... It's nice to know that someone else shares almost the same thing, ne?" he asked with a smile.
He then waved a hand over his face and body and he changed form. He looked like a pretty girl with red hair and soft blue eyes. He looked at V and smirked. "So, what's your secret?" His voice hadn't changed which would just look strange coming from that form.
Re: Turns to AshesWould it be nice, Genevieve wonders, to know that somebody else was in the same position as I am? The bone-pale girl regards the falls; must look past Amber and Deryk to do so. They roar; they thunder; all sound and fury, but, despite her thoughts, she hasn't stopped listening to the conversation. So, what's your secret?
But V doesn't immediately realize the question was directed at her. Whereas other students at MHS have proudly displayed their abilities, and even the story of their past, V is quite the opposite; even Amber, so very curious, has never asked so bluntly.
"My secret...?" V echoes, tension coiling at the nape of her neck. "You mean..."

Re: Turns to Ashes
Amber played with the pendulum and small cross of light erupted from the crystal object. She glanced up at V, giving her a smile. Her power, she was sure that's what Deryk had meant. Amber had never asked her friend once what that power was, she cosidered it to be part of her mystique.
"Her eyes," Amber joked, glancing now at Deryk. "The family heirloom is in her eyes."
Re: Turns to Ashes"Oh..." he said lightly. He looked at V, smiling apologetically. He leaned back on the bench, breathing in the cold, misty air. He sighed lightly, pulling a cigarette out of his pocket.
"Do you two mind if I smoke?" he asked, putting the cigarette between his lips. He fumbled through his pocket for his lighter, not being able to find it. "Is there a good place to eat around here? I'd really like to treat you two to a meal..."
He paused. "But as friends of course. Well, not even really friends... Just as a nice gesture..." His cheeks lit up with each fumbling of his words.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Tension slips away, like sand through a sieve, slowly. V glances at Amber, when Amber steps in; the winged girl's eyes [a negation of light] are still on Deryk when she does. "Your secrets are safe with me," she says, very seriously, very quietly, undoubtable.
And then - new subject, which V is more than glad to switch to. The subject of food. Just as a nice gesture, Deryk says, and V nods, slightly. She understands. Just as a nice gesture, so you can make friends.
"Hmm. Amber, do you know of a good place, nearby?"
It's been a while since V has ventured off school grounds.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Amber had not strayed much from school grounds, limiting herself to a few places; a church, the park and a favored cafe. However, the cafe was a bit of a walk from the park, but the food there was superb.
She told them this of course, gentle as she always tends to be when she speaks.
Amber blinked at Deryk, wondering how one so young could even bring himself to smoke. He reminded her of Yakoutio in that sense, except he was much younger and both drank and smoked.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Deryk held the lighter up to the end of the cigarette, but he didn't spark it. He looked away, his face turning a shade of pink again. "Like it matters. Who's going to miss me anyway?"
He shook his head, not believing that he had said that. He fidgeted with his cap for awhile. "Lets go to that cafe, it sounds terrific." he said, a light smile on his lips. His brown eyes closed for a second, trying to lighten the mood.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Walking through the park Karrody had finished his few daytime errends as he walked upon the trio that were making plans to eat, just as Deryk asks who would miss him. "Oh perhaps there are those seldom few who might have uses for you. So you can never tell who would miss you." Karrody answers the question Deryk asked the girls while nodding to both Amber and V.
"Good afternoon ladies." Karrody greets both of the girls, his thick French accent easily audible in all of his words.

Re: Turns to Ashes
Deryk sighed, putting the cigarette back into the pack after the comment from the newcomer. I just can't win.... He shook his head, his brown eyes looking at the man.
Just who was he? More importantly, what did he want? Well, he seemed to have more interest in V and Amber then he did Deryk, so what did it matter?
Wait... did he just say there might be those who could have a use for me?
Re: Turns to Ashes
Quiet Genevieve, and centered, regards Deryk for a moment after he speaks, and then her eyelashes lower, kiss her cheekbones; and she looks across, at the waterfalls, and her thoughts on the bitter, rhetorical question are her own. But, agreeing with the cafe idea, she straightens away from the lightpole she'd found to lean against, and places her hands back in her pockets. "Lead the way, Amber." But, wait; a familiar French tinted voice. V pulls one hand out of her pocket, to lift it in hello.
Amber gave Deryk a sad smile. She was sure someone would miss him, but she couldn't bring herself to tell him such a thing. She stood up ready to lead the way, as she knew the route like the back of her hand.
"All right then, the walk can be our exercise."
And then he arrived there. She reffered to him as the angel of shadows in a playful sense, but she knew of his name. It was V's friend, Karrody. Amber was visibly surprised to see him, as she rarely had the oppourtunity to see him save about two other occasions. She smiled and bowed her head.
"Afternoon. We were just on a way to a nice cafe. It's a walk from here, but it's worth it."
She paused for a moment, as if trying to decide on something.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Nodding simply at V, Karrody looks from the her to the other two in the group. Not in any hurry to be anywhere he thinks on his decision. "If it is the same direction as I am going, I don't see why I couldn't accompany the three of you." Karrody replies to Amber's questions as he lets his gaze scan over Deryk and take in the similarities between him and Amber, though Karrody is efficiently thurough so that he doesn't appear to have his gaze linger on Deryk's form.

Re: Turns to Ashes
Deryk scratched the back of his head, smirking to himself. He sighed again, looking out over the falls. His brown eyes grew darker with the lightening of the mood.
Finally he turned back to Karrody, extending his hand. "Hi, I'm Deryk." Even though he was extremely nervous, introductions were very important.
Re: Turns to Ashes
As Deryk extends his hand Karrody looks at it but doesn't take. Not being one for physical contact, even though he wears light cotton gloves on his hands, he still preferes to remain without contact of another. "I would be Karrody de`Champion. Forgive me if I do not take your hand." Is all Karrody says in introduction. His French accent covering the flat tone he would have if he were native to the English toungue.

Re: Turns to Ashes
Amber smiled in delight in another member to join in their party...had this been an RPG. The winged girl already started to walk ahead, mentally mapping out where the cafe was from this park.
"Ah, it's a shorter distance than I thought..." she mused to herself. She glanced over her shoulder, seeing that Deryk and Karrody were making aquaintence.
"This way, this way," the winged girl said in a sing-song tone of voice.
Re: Turns to Ashes"Oh... Sorry." he said lightly, pulling his hand back to his side. He turned away, a wave of embarassment hitting him. His brown eyes looking at the ground.
Instinctively his hand went to his hat, fidgeting with it some. Was it something I said? Can I do anything right today?
Re: Turns to Ashes
When Amber turns around and realizes the group is lagging, V has paused and bent over to pick up a penny; it shines, gleams, somebody's bright hope, on the half-frozen ground.
Then she (as calm and implaccable as a cat, as poised as if she were suspended from a thread) walks along the kerb, balancing without effort, arms folded behind her back, now.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Deryk put his hands in his hoodie pocket, keeping his head low. He made a conscious effort to avoid every crack on the sidewalk as he studied the ground. However, his concentration was broken when he heard his name, barely hearing the question before it.
"Hmmm? Oh... I'm a sophmore." he said quietly. Smirking he looked at V, his eyes closing for a brief second. "What about you?"
Re: Turns to Ashes
He's so little, Amber thought to herself. The girl would not say it aloud, she didn't want to embaress him in any way. What a feeling, to meet one just like her that carried such a blessing and a curse. Granted Deryk was on the other end of the spectrum in that he was more fallen than holy, but being a nephilim was the negation of that sort of classification.
Or that was her philosophy, something that worked perfectly for her. The winged girl slowed in her steps, keeping in mind where the cafe was from here.
Re: Turns to Ashes
Following the group, Karrody almost seems like a solid phantom in their midst, not talking in any specific way, and not really a direct part to allow the group to function. Though to onlookers, he seems to be a part of the group that most groups of kids have, whether intenional, or not. He is the one who breathes a steady confidence and strength in his movements, though he remains quiet.
