Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

Reading (Thorny)
Lucas was sitting under the shade of a tree by himself. Beside him, like always, was his saxophone. He had finished practicing not too long ago. He slipped on his glasses and picked up a book. He was reading the classic love story 'Romeo and Juliet.' Lucas always liked books like that. He was pretty into poetry, so he found it to be an interesting read.
Unlike most, Lucas didn't seem to have trouble reading the words. He could understand the language pretty well, because it was something he studied back when he first got interested in the creative side of things. He sat their reading, every so often mumbling the words to himself so they made more sense to him. He was so busy reading that he hadn't noticed it was getting a bit late.

Re: Reading (Thorny)
Hawthorne was enjoying the late afternoon sun. Wandering around the park, getting used to her new clothes. For some unbelievable reason, she had actually willingly donned one of the skirts she had bought when she was out with Ayeka. It was long, and in a forest green colour, coming down to her ankles. It went well with the white blouse, and fringed brown leather jacket. (The latter being her own addition to the outfit, since it matched her brand-new moccasins). Her thick black hair was contained in two neat braids, hanging on either side of her head. In fact, if she hadn't been full of piercings, no one would know she had a bit of a wilder side.
She chewed thoughtfully on her lip ring, looking around for something to do. That was when she saw the boy reading under the tree. He had a saxophone case lying beside him, and she tilted her head curiouslt. A musician? That was interesting. She sang, so maybe they would have a few things in common. She wanted someone to chat with anyways. She approached the boy with silent steps.
"It's starting to get a little chilly for reading outside, eh?"
Re: Reading (Thorny)
Lucas was in complete concentration, and had no idea that someone was around him. Sometimes when he became engulfed in things he often didn't pay attention to what was going on around him. It was a bad habit of his. " With love's light wings did I o'er perch these walls, for stony limits cannot hold love ou-" He began, but was stopped by a strangers voice.
"It's starting to get a little chilly for reading outside, eh?"
Lucas looked up from his book, taking his reading glasses off to get a good look at the stranger. " I hadn't even noticed really." He replied, smiling at her. He was dressed in what he usually wore, casual clothes, that being a white long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up and a pair of black pants. He stood up to properly greet the stranger, his emerald eyes locking with her grey ones.
" I'm Lucas Reed." he said, extending his hand to her.

Re: Reading (Thorny) " I hadn't even noticed really."
Hawthorne smiled at the boy. He was actually rather handsome, one you got a good look at him. Not her type, but she had some friends she wouldn't mind introducing him too. Sweet little Stella came to mind rather quickly.
" I'm Lucas Reed."
Hawthorne accepted the proffered hand, grasping it firmly, but not forcefully. She had a handshake that said she knew who she was, and she wasn't afraid to assert herself. Her hands were warm and dry, and she smiled kindly up at Lucas.
"I'm Hawthorne Johnstone, it's a pleasure to meet you. Do you go to the highschool?"
Re: Reading (Thorny)"I'm Hawthorne Johnstone, it's a pleasure to meet you. Do you go to the highschool?"
Lucas nodded at her question. " Yeah, Manga High School. I'm fairly new there though, still trying to figure out where everything is." He explained. He was lucky he got such a nice roommate. Lucas figured if he asked her for help than she would help him easily. " But my roommate Stella will probably help me with that. Have you met her?" He asked. He wondered what Stella's friends were like. He'd already met her 'big brother' Jun.

Re: Reading (Thorny) " Yeah, Manga High School. I'm fairly new there though, still trying to figure out where everything is."
Hawthorne nodded in agreement. She knew what he meant. She had lucked out meeting up with Datu right away, he had been kind enough to help her out. Still, she had been pretty much on her own after that.
" But my roommate Stella will probably help me with that. Have you met her?"
Hawthorne smiled. So he had met Stella, was even sharing a room with her! Excellent! The little matchmaker in her head went into overdrive, attempting to plot this out in her head.
"I have met Stella, we're aquaintances, more than friends really. We played Truth or Dare at the hot springs once. She's a darling girl, I couldn't imagine anyone saying anything bad about her."
Re: Reading (Thorny)"I have met Stella, we're aquaintances, more than friends really. We played Truth or Dare at the hot springs once. She's a darling girl, I couldn't imagine anyone saying anything bad about her."
Lucas nodded as he listened to Hawthorne talk about Stella and how nice she was. He gently slid one hand in his pocket and the other still held onto his book. " Yeah, she is really something special. She offered to help me unpack and really nice things like that. She's also very pretty, that was something I'd noticed from the moment I saw her. I couldn't believe god had given beauty like that to just one perso-" He began, but stopped himself, as he realised he was rambling on.
Blushing slightly, Lucas tried to change the subject a little. " So, what can you tell me about her?" he asked.

Oh that was so cute! He blushed! It seemed like Lucas already had a bit of a crush on our little Stella. That made Hawthorne very happy. Perhaps this wasn't as far-fetched as she believed. They could really be hooked up!
" So, what can you tell me about her?"
"Hmmm, that's a tough one Lucas. I know that she's rather uncomfortable around people, even though she tries to pretend she's not. She doesn't have much experience with guys either."
Hmmm, what else. Stella was a little hard to get to know at first, and Hawthorne hadn't spent that much time with her.
"I know she enjoys one-on-one or small groups the best."
Re: Reading (Thorny)"I know she enjoys one-on-one or small groups the best."
" Hm..." Lucas said. He was thinking of a way to try and get to know his roommate better. He figured she would have to open up to him at some point, because they were living together. " I suppose I'll have to try and have a one on one conversation with her. But her brother, that Jun-Bo, he seems very protective of her. He asked me questions about myself the moment he found out I was living with her." He explained.

Hawthorne made a face. She forgot about Jun-Bo. He could prove a difficulty. After all, he had been taking this whole big brother thing rather seriously from the start. In a way it made Hawthorne jealous, she had always wanted to be part of a big family, and she had lost the only sibling she ever had when she was still young.
"Jun-Bo is . . . special. You just have to show him that you have nothing but good intentions when it comes to Stella. He doesn't want her hurt, or taken advantage of. I can understand that."
After all, hadn't she been the same way when her Lily had been alive?
Re: Reading (Thorny)"Jun-Bo is . . . special. You just have to show him that you have nothing but good intentions when it comes to Stella. He doesn't want her hurt, or taken advantage of. I can understand that."
Lucas understood as well. " I know what it is like to have a sibling. My brother Mark is a few years younger than me and I would do anything for him. I guess it's the same thing. I can relate with Jun-Bo on that fact." He explained. It had only been a few days, but Lucas missed his little brother already. It was really hurtful for him to leave him, since they were so inseparable.
" But I would never take advantage of anyone. I don't understand why people try that sort of thing. I hate people like that." He explained.

Hawthorne nodded, feeling like this was someone she could really get to know, even open up to. She smiled at him.
"Yeah, I had a little sister once. I was horribly protective of her."
" But I would never take advantage of anyone. I don't understand why people try that sort of thing. I hate people like that."
Hawthorne nodded in complete agreement. She had enough people play those kinds of games with her in her life. She appreciated his sentiments.
"I agree with you there, Lucas. It's just not right."
Re: Reading (Thorny)"Yeah, I had a little sister once. I was horribly protective of her."
" Oh," Lucas began. From what she said, he gathered that her sister must have died. He sighed. It was only a few years ago that his grandfather died, the man who taught Lucas all about his powers and how to make them better. " I'm sorry for your loss. It was not too long ago that I lost someone close to me." He added.
"I agree with you there, Lucas. It's just not right."
Lucas nodded at what she said. " I just don't understand what people like that get from it. Taking advantage of someone in any way is wrong." He said. That was something he felt very strongly about.

Re: Reading (Thorny) " I'm sorry for your loss. It was not too long ago that I lost someone close to me."
It had been three years ago for Hawthorne, and she had never really grieved for her sister's passing. After all, she had thrown herself into a situation where it wasn't possible to cope with those types of things. It's hard to think on someone else's passing, when your own death stared you in the face every day, running his hands over your body with that possesive gleam in his eye.
" I just don't understand what people like that get from it. Taking advantage of someone in any way is wrong."
"Some people only care about themselves, Lucas. They see an end that they wish to achieve, and everyone else is just a stepping stone towards that goal. They stop seeing you as a person, and more as a tool. That's when things go downhill."
How had they gotten onto this subject? Weren't they supposed to be singing the praises of Stella? Perhaps that would come later. She was really starting to enjoy the company of her new friend.
Re: Reading (Thorny)"Some people only care about themselves, Lucas. They see an end that they wish to achieve, and everyone else is just a stepping stone towards that goal. They stop seeing you as a person, and more as a tool. That's when things go downhill."
Lucas sighed. He was very glad that he had never met someone like that before. He wondered if it would have changed who he was if he had. He shook his head, Lucas wouldn't let something like that get to him. He looked back to Hawthorne, it seemed this situation was getting far too personal, since she seemed to know all about now the mind of people like that worked.
He decided to change the subject. He didn't want to get anyone upset or anything like that, especially when it was someone he had just met. " Anyway," Lucas began, not quite sure as to how they came onto a different subject so quickly, " What were we talking about before all this?" He asked. His mind had become so clouded with his feelings that he couldn't remember.

She shook it off. There were too many bad thoughts down that road, and this was no place to air them. She'd frighten the boy away, and then how would she get him to date Stella? She chewed on her lip ring rather deliberately, and looked at Lucas curiously. How could she change the subject?
" Anyway,"
" What were we talking about before all this?"
Apparently he was going to do it for her, which suited Hawthorne just fine. Perfectly in fact. She just couldn't remember what they had been discussing previously. It had just been at the front of her mind, and then Lucas started speaking and she had lost it.
"I don't remember, but it is definitely time for a new topic. Umm, what were you reading? Something really good?"
Re: Reading (Thorny)"I don't remember, but it is definitely time for a new topic. Umm, what were you reading? Something really good?"
Lucas looked to the book in his hand and he held it up to her so she could read the title. " I was reading Romeo and Juliet. I don't know if you ever had, but the language in it is pretty difficult to decipher. But it's a very good story once you understand what's going on." He explained. Lucas looked to the book himself. Poetry was something that interested him, it was why he read books like it.

Hawthorne tilted her head to the side. Shakespeare had never been one of her great loves, but she was fairly certain every female on the planet muddled their way through that one at least once.
"That's cute. A romantic, are you? I bet Stella would like that. She's seems the dreamy type. She's never really been kissed y'know. A girl's first kiss is important."
She gave Lucas a meaningful look. She was pretty sure she picked up the right vibes from him. Now it was time to make sure he didn't make any errors. She could help there.
Re: Reading (Thorny)"That's cute. A romantic, are you? I bet Stella would like that. She's seems the dreamy type. She's never really been kissed y'know. A girl's first kiss is important."
" Uh... uh... what?" Lucas asked. A slight redness appeared on his face as she looked at him like that. Was she trying to get them together? " S-She would?" He asked. Is she insane! This is my roommate we're talking about. He thought. Lucas shook his head. He shouldn't feel that was about his roommate. It would get weird between them, and he didn't really want that.
But, what if she ended up feeling the same way? " Um... I guess I'm the romantic type. But how do you know if she likes that?" He asked. Lucas felt like hitting his head against something. He had to stop making it seem like he was interested in her. He wasn't, was he?

Re: Reading (Thorny)
Hawthorne smiled, that would prolly set him a little off centre, but it would be good for the boy, get him thinking. He obviously hadn't really considered his emotions in the matter yet. Though they were pretty clear to Thorny.
" Uh... uh... what?"
" S-She would?"
Hawthorne nodded emphatically. The boy was dense, and with a face like that he needed to come to earth a bit. Otherwise, he'd have the same problem Jun had, with everyone falling in love with him, but him being oblivious to it and leading them on. She didn't think Lucas could handle that though. He was more sensitive than Jun-Bo.
" Um... I guess I'm the romantic type. But how do you know if she likes that?"
"Most girls like a guy with a sentimental side. A hint of a romantic nature can make more than a few of the ladies swoon. Now, I'm not saying that Stella would, she doesn't seem quite the fainting type, but I'm pretty certain you could charm her with your honesty and intelligence."

This had given Lucas a lot to think about. He had to work out if he was embarrassed at what Hawthorne was saying, or if he actually liked his roommate. At this time he wasn't that sure, he would have to spend more time with her. But the last thing he wanted was girls after him. If he found one he liked he wouldn't bother looking around.
" Well, I wouldn't want other girls around me like that, especially if I knew that I liked Stella. If I knew that, I wouldn't give any girls who wanted me a second look that way." He explained.
