Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.
We have a guest book. Take a look. If you haven't taken a look yet, be sure and do so. ^_^

M is for Meditations on Mortality
The sea rushes in; the sea rushes out. The sea rushes in; the sea rushes out. The sea rushes in; the sea rushes out. The glass-like waves collapse. The glass-like waves collapse. The glass-like waves collapse. Out to sea, the water gathers. The water gathers. And then the water throws itself at the shore. The sea rushes in; the sea rushes out. It's getting too cold to go into the water, but she's standing barefoot in the sruf anyway, and the wind is tangling her gold [shining.] hair away from her face.

Having taken a ride in a taxi Merciah had come to the beach that he had overheard so many of the students speak of in the school caffeteria. Paying the driver he aproaches the sands. For the most part there are very few people even there.
Merciah then begins to walk along the edge of the water, exploring this new sight that he has yet to experience during his time at Manga High.
As he walks along the edge he sees a girl standing in the surf that he feels he has seen before. Scanning his thoughts, he recognizes her as a student from Manga High, though she is one he has yet to meet. (OOC: I think, or have they met?)

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
OOC: Hrm, I think they might have? But since I don't remember the circumstances around the occasion, and neither do you, we'll just pretend they never met. After all, maybe they didn't.
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
(OOC:Okies, Cause I know she's met Karrody.)
As Merciah continues walking and only slightly recognizes the girl, yet believes he doesn't know here, he decides he isn't going to intrude if she appears busy. Though, a he encloses on where she stands he notices that she stays in the water regardless of the temperature, and this peeks his interest.
"I would think it is a little could to go for a swim. Wouldn't you?" Merciah asks, noting that she still remains in the cold surf.

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"Hm?" V looks up (the wind draggles a strand of hair across her mouth; she brushes it away, but it clings around her throat, is reluctant to leave) and to the side, to the teenager. He seems, to her, serene; priestly, maybe. So, after a look that lasts only a moment, she turns back to the water and points - "There's something caught in the seaweed. Do you see it?"
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
Looking to see what it is that she is directing his attention to Merciah peers with his strong gaze. "I am not sure if I can." (OOC: Can he see anything) Merciah says to the girl that he just approached. Stepping closer he looks again, trying to sort out the difference of all the things in the water through the blur caused by the lights refraction in the water.

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
There is a lot of debris on this part of the shore, splintered pieces of driftwood dashed against rocks which are brooding and dark and sharp-looking; pieces of litter, tossed by boardwalk-goers off a nearby pier, caught here and there. The light, too, on the water, and the shifting waves themselves. But he sees, after a moment of focus, what his fellow student was talking about.
It looks like a mask, hard and white and cold-featured, and at first that's all he sees. But there's something near the mask, mostly submerged, and only when the waves move a certain way does he think he might see more ...
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
(OOC: Sorry about the long wait, been super busy getting ready for thursday.)
"I believe I see what appears to be a face stuck in the seaweed. I am not entirely sure, though I believe that is what it is."
Looking again Merciah can make out what appears to be more of a mask then an actual face. "Oh, actually I think it is a mask. Would it be yours, if that is what it is?"

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"No. But," Genevieve pauses; "I don't like seeing it out there. For some reason it disturbs me."
And it does disturb.
The mask is smooth as porcelain; white as a Noh mask and its eyes are as dark. It looks harmless. More than harmless: innocent. So, of course, it disturbs. There are two possible reactions to the mask, and they're both right, in their way. Merciah will feel one or the other.
Pity, endless; sadness and longing and the feel of unfinished things.
Or hatred; disgust; contempt; desire to smash; to shatter. Followed by the sense that things aren't right. That something bad happened.
Chills, tiptoe up and down the spine. A cold wind picks up, lashes the waves higher (one splashes up V's legs, drenching her) and it howwwwls like a hungry ghost.
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
As Genevieve admits that the masks presence there disturbs her, Merciah takes another look at it. "If it bothers you so much, why do you remain in its presence and continue to search it out with your eyes? Can you not just leave and let it remain on its own, or are you drawn to it for a reason that I do not perceive?"

"I don't know." The question startles her; makes her wonder why, exactly, she's standing in the frigid, wintry ocean, barefoot. The saltwater is dragging on her skirts, making them heavy, the undertow could easily drag her down if it just gave a tug...
"It's just such a strange thing to leave in the ocean; whoever lost it must be sad."
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"What makes you so certain that anybody lost the mask. Someone might have thrown it purposely into the water. It might be an unwanted object by whomever owned it before its current situation. Being in such a place, I don't know how it could have made it here by simply being misplaced." Merciah states, judging the girls reaction from his previous comment against this one.

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"An unwanted object? How sad."
Genevieve takes a step further into the water, letting her fingertips skim down, below the frigid waves. Her skin is so pale, from the cold, that she's almost incandescent --
The girl turns to look over her shoulder, though, forcing herself to look away from the mask (and she feels heavy, sleepy) and at Merciah.
"You look familiar to me."
She must have seen him at the school cafeteria -- or perhaps, in passing, in the dorm rooms.
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"I do?" Merciah questions, trying to think of where he might have met this girl before.
"I couldn't say that I truelly recognize you. I might have seen you before, though only in passing. Do you by chance go to school around here?" Merciah asks, deciding that if she goes to MHS they might have seen each other at the school.

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
V inclines her head, slightly; a regal gesture, and somehow careful. Merciah probably knows how to move with maximum efficiency; he probably knows how to make every gesture count. V has an economy of motion, which translates to grace, which she never studied for; potential.
"I go to Manga High School. Which I have heard is also called Monster Home School and Miss and Hit School."
Ignore the mask, V says to herself, although she thinks she can hear it singing -- which is ridiculous. Because if she did hear it singing, well -- she'd definitely want to get away from it.
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
(OOC: Sorry about the short post the other day, I was in a huge hurry.)
"That must be why we feel like we have seen each other before. For I attend Manga High School aswell. Perhaps we have seen each other around on campus and just haven't had the time to introduce ourselves." Merciah explains after he hears that he goes to the same school as her.
"Aswell," Merciah continues with a bow. "I would be Merciah. Might I have your name?"

Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
ooc: No problem. Sometimes, you just need to post short. -_-;;; Er, like me now. I'll fill it out later if I have to but this is basically it.
Genevieve places a hand over her heart. "V." Simple, concise; no more than that. "Most people call me V." As to the rest, Genevieve looks curiosly at Merciah; tilts her head, delicate, to the side, but wraps her arms around herself. Cold, frigid water. "Are you on the fifth floor?" Edited by: quicksilver at: 12/1/05 5:50 pm
Re: M is for Meditations on Mortality
"No, I would be on the 2nd floor." Merciah explains. I have a roommate named Kip. Perhaps you've met him, as he seems to be pretty popular, and is a pretty nice guy."
After a moments pause Merciah continues. "Why do ask? Are you by chance on the fifth floor?" Merciah inquires of his new found acquaintance. "Or do you just happen to know a few peole on the fifth floor?"

M is for Meditations on Mortality
"No; I haven't. Is he popular because he's a nice guy?"
Some might regard the question as a strange one. Genevieve is unconscious of this, of course; unconscious of a lot, just now. Merciah is making Genevieve's aquaintance during one of her more distant, self-contained moments; if the sea is the sea (and we have to agree that it is) then she is the moon. Or perhaps she is the sea and the mask is the moon.
Gravity, tugs --
But the question has focused her attention on Merciah - and she shakes her head, briefly. "No. But there was a loud fight on the fifth floor a little while ago; I was curious."
