We have added a few things to the requirements to power and ability upgrades. Be sure and read the details in the most recent update when you request a new power / upgrade.
Well, its the weekend here at MHS. Wouldn't it be great if all schools started on a Friday for the first day of school. What a way to start off. You get a weekend right after your first day. Well, this is because we are done with the first day of class. How so you ask. As you only went to one class. yes, but I am sure that doing the same thing for each class would get boring. So the one class you experienced is basically how all the classes are going to be.
Teacher posts role. Day gets started, end of class happens, everyone goes to their next class, or home..
Well, ezboard still hasn't confirmed anything on a final date when everything is changed over to Yuku. And we are working on what to do next. We all want user friendliness after everything is changed away from Ezbaord, and we are trying everything we can to ensure that we have just that when we are at a new board hosting site.

Explanations Running High (Read OOC before joining)
((ooc: This is a planned post between myself and Knives. However it will become 'open' once the interlude between Knives and Dango happens. Characters that are directly involved with Dango (ie: Enzo, Akai, Isamu) are welcome to 'overhear' the conversation, but at least wait until the interlude before getting too 'involved' ))
Dango had managed to avoid Knives all day, but it had been difficult to do - he always seemed to pop up where ever she was. Maybe it was just a small school, or maybe it was because she was trying to avoid him that she ended up running into him.
Still, as Dango sat at a table in the corner of the club by herself, she wondered how the agency knew she was with Knives. She didn't have a tracking device on her did she? And why was it only after Knives hugged her that she suddenly got paged?
And that message - -
She had no choice but to avoid them, and just when they were starting to become good friends.
The warm amber liquid sitting in the tall glass had barely lost an inch, but Dango decided to change that when she reached for it. The sound of the ice clattering against the glass was almost a comfortable sound against the loud pulsating music of the club. Noone would of guessed that just days ago the club had to be closed for repairs -
Dango was there. Why didn't the agency care enough to send in one of hers? Instead of letting her clean up the mess - typical.
Still, Dango's eyes didn't lift from the drink in her hand, it really was the only thing that made sense right then.

Knives sighed as he walked through the doors and into the crowded nightclub. His eyes glanced around, falling upon the many people who were dancing, drinking, or just wandering around. They all seemed to light up under the multicolored lights that played around the room; the lights were somewhat interesting to Knives, but it didn't really change things. This wasn't really his type of place, at least, not when he was alone. But tonight, he felt the need for a drink...and, as he was underage, he didn't have any alcohol in his dorm.
So, as he looked past all of the people, his eyes fell upon the bar. So far, he hadn't noticed Dango. He weaved his way in that direction, slipping around and between the people, before finally reaching his destination. With a sigh, he sat down in the seat next to Dango, resting his arms on the edge of the bar and letting out a sigh. After ordering a beer, he rested his chin in his hand, supporting it on his elbow, still on the bar's edge. In doing this, he turned his head to the side - to see Dango's profile.
He blinked, and lifted his head from his hand. This time, before speaking, he reached over towards her, placing his hand over hers, wrapping his fingers around it to hold it tightly. Now, she couldn't escape; at least, if she did, she would be taking him with her. He frowned a bit in her direction, and opened his mouth to speak to her. He had to shout, somewhat, in order to be heard over the music.
"Dango! Whatcha doin here?"

Dango felt a figure move close to her, but her mind was too clouded with things to care. She didn't expect it to be anyone she knew, she just figured that the place was too crowded and her booth was the only one free. That usually happened in clubs, that was how the most perfect strangers ending up hooking up.
She felt a hand over hers, fingers interwining with her own, and her eyes narrowed before she even got a chance to see who it was.
"Get your fucking hands off of me - "
"Dango! Whatcha doin here?"
"Uh?"
She finally turned to look and see who it was, a little taken back by the fact that it was Knives.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean - "
Great. This was just perfect. The one person she was trying to avoid had once again shown up on her 'doorstep'. The agency must of been having a field day with this one -
The music stopped, signifying that the DJ was taking his well deserved 15 minute break. Clubbers made their way to their seats, drunks made their way back to the bar, and the whole place seemed to be at a standstill until the friendly chatter between groups started up again.
"Knives, I'm sorry I have been avoiding you, but - I can't explain why and I can't give you a reason - its just - it's dangerous for you to be around me."
This was harder than Dango would of hoped. Even as her hand left his to reach for the glass, she was trembling.
"Your the only one in this school I would consider a friend, but its my fault - not yours. I should of stayed out of your way from the beginning, but I guess even I need someone to talk to. People wonder why I don't give a damn about others, why I don't comfort the girls crying in the gym, why I don't listen to conversations that don't concern me even if I would have valuable advice to give - - "
" - - and its because I have no choice. Being a bitch allows me to not let anyone get close. That way, nobody will ever get hurt because of me. Ever again."
She didn't want to tell Knives anymore than that, telling him more than that would put him in more danger than he was - -
Still, Dango couldn't figure out why Knives only became a major 'issue' after he hugged her. It just didn't make sense --
"I know you want answers, anyone would. But I can't give them to you without putting you in further danger. So please, for both of our safety, I think it would be best for us just to forget everything."

"Get your fucking hands off of me - " Knives laughed a little at this, only tightening his grip on her hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. He knew she didn't mean it; he knew he'd just startled her. He didn't respond much more, other than to give her a big, friendly smile.
As she began her explanation, Knives just listened. His ears perked up; he wanted to hear what she had to say. Once again, he rested his chin his his hand, that elbow on the table's edge, giving him a very interested look. But he quickly realized she wouldn't tell him much of anything. He listened anyways, wanting to hear what she had to say; and it didn't really bother him that she didn't tell him much.
When she finished, he spoke. "You don't have to tell me anything. I trust you. But just because it puts me in danger doesn't mean you need to avoid me. What if I don't care? I'm not scared at all!" He lifted his hand from his palm, and threw his shoulders back, trying to look big and brave. "I can handle myself. And if it comes down to it...remember, in the forest? I promised to protect you. I'll make sure to live up to that promise." He gave her a big smile. "So...can we be friends again?"
OOC: Short post, I'm in a hurry to get somewhere, but I figured we should progress this thread whenever possible. Besides, I got what needed to be said done. I'll be back later tonight, prolly around midnight for me (I think that's like 10 for you) So see ya then!

Knives beamed, and his ears perked up. She'd said she still wanted to be her friend, and that was enough for him. He nodded, and sat back in his seat, just like she did. Both of his hands clasped together over his stomach, and he sprawled out on his side of the booth. He looked very happy, and very comfortable. "Good! I like being your friend!"
"You can't touch me, in any sort of embrace. Just to be safe. It's just, I'm being watched and I don't know from who. Whoever it is, doesn't seem to like me getting close to anyone." He blinked, and scratched his head, one of his key mannerisms. He tried to put on a look of disappointment; and he succeeded, but it was quite obviously forced and fake. "Awwwww....that's no fun.....but you're so cute and touchable!" He couldn't hold the face too long, though, and had to crack a smile. And then the smile turned into a bit of a chuckle. "Fine, then. No touching. But...what about this?" His smile grew, and he reached forward, poking Dango gently on the nose. "Can I do that?"
He leaned forward again, returning to his former position, elbow on the table to support his chin in his palm. With the smile still on his face, he gazed across the table at her. "Ok, then. So, what can friends do that doesn't involve physical contact? We can't even...like...wrestle or anything." He laughed a little.

He smiled at her response to his touching her nose. The cross-eyed look, the little nod: it was all so cute. He tilted his head to the side as he watched her, closing his eyes and twitching his ears, making him look even happier. He was enjoying this, now that she was finally talking to him again.
"I think it was when you hugged me." He shrugged. His mind thought back to the hug, the feeling of Dango's soft body, and the smile on his face grew. It was a good moment, last night; he'd enjoyed it, even if it was just a hug between friends. "Maybe they're jealous of me?" He laughed a little, and gave her another shrug.
"I would hate to see what they would do if you kissed me" He laughed too, same as she did. Again, he moved his hand to scratch his head, giving him a bit of a sheepish look. And then, another shrug, and a bit of a nod. "Yeah, that'd be funny." His smile contorted, turning into a smirk, his sheepishness becoming a mischevious look. "Whoever they are, they might mind...but I know I wouldn't."

A warm blush curled upon her cheeks as she gazed up at Knives, the nervous tension apparent from the expression on her face.
The expression turned into a soft laughter -

Obviously Dango didn't believe he was serious.
"Seriously though. It is really lonely. I have to give you credit, your the first one here that hasn't been flirting with every girl he sees. The laptop feeds I've been getting concerning Isamu with other girls is - "
Dango stopped talking, knowing already she had revealed a little too much information. Frantically she shook her head, waving her hands in front of her face.
"I'm not spying on him with other girls, I promise! I don't even care who he hangs around with!"

At the mention of Isamu, Knives's look hardened slightly; though not enough to be noticeable. So far, he barely knew Isamu; but he didn't like how the boy seemed to make Dango disappear every time he showed up. When Dango mentioned Isamu the first time, it once again reminded Knives of the time on the rooftop, when they'd both left him alone. And it wasn't one of his favorite memories. Sometimes, he was actually rather jealous of Isamu.
After he said he'd like to kiss her, Knives's eyes watched her closely for her reaction. When he saw the redness creep into her cheeks, he smiled happily, enjoying the cuteness. He liked making girls blush, it was one of the cutest things. As an added bonus, it hinted that she might enjoy a kiss as well: he wasn't sure about it, but the blush helped him become more sure. But her "Yeah, right," kind of bothered him...apparently she didn't believe him. And why wouldn't he want to kiss such a pretty girl with her cute personality? "Funny? When was I being funny?" He chuckled a little, and gave her an even bigger smile than before.

Knives blinked, lifting his head from his hand only so slightly. Laptop feeds? He titled his head to the side curiously, the smile on his lips fading into a thoughtful pucker, and an inquisitive look in his eyes. It didn't matter to him if she spied on Isamu, or even on him, but he was rather curious what she had meant. "Laptop feeds, huh? You like spying?" He smirked. "I take it you watch me, too, huh? You like what you see?" He raised his eyebrows tauntingly, letting her know he really didn't mind.
"And, yeah, I only flirt with girls I care about." He smirked again, winking in her direction, in a sort of joke. (OOC interruption: I still don't know what's goin on with Kaori, so I dunno whether Knives cares about her or not O.o depends on what Nisha does next...)

Dango glanced at Knives, watching the expression on his face change when she mentioned Isamu. With a slight sigh she reached over the table and placed her slender hand over Knives's own.
"There is nothing going on between Isamu and I. He's a nice guy, but I think he is not really interested in waiting around for someone like me when he can have any body else"

Dango pulled her hand away, holding her hand to her head now.
"Its just an expression"

She knew letting that little slip would mean trouble. Nervously she laughed, rubbing the back of her head with her free hand.

Another blush -

"Oh - "
Even Dango had to admit, she already cared about Knives. Dango cared about alot of people, she just had a weird way of showing it.
After mentioning she didn't even care about Isamu hanging out with other girls, she quirked her eyebrow at Knives's response.
"Well, I do say so. But we got the hard stuff over with, so, should I buy you a drink?"

But he couldn't help smiling at that comment; he was a little jealous of Isamu when Dango first mentioned him, and felt a little better after hearing these words. And he really liked it when she put her hand on his. As soon as she did, his own hand turned over to hold hers gently.
After joking with her about the "spying" she let slip, he smiled and watched her reaction. The nervous laugh, the blush - it made another smile come to his face. It didn't bother him that she spied on him, and he didn't believe there was much she could say that would make him stop liking her. He leaned in some more, returning his chin to his palm, staring straight at her with a smirk on his face. "So....what all have you seen? You watch me in he showers or anything?" He laughed a little.
"Well, I do say so. But we got the hard stuff over with, so, should I buy you a drink?" He laughed a little, and leaned back in his chair again. Again, he scratched his head sheepishly, tilting his head to the side. "You buy me a drink?" He laughed a little. "Isn't that my job, as the guy?"

There was a mischevious glint in his eye as he looked at her; he liked her, but it was true, they were just friends. (I would elaborate on that, but I'm not sure what's going on with Knives's relationships...) But even so, he didn't want her paying for his drinks...it just felt, well, not masculine. He was going to say that, but just as he opened his mouth to speak, he was interrupted by the waiter who came to their table.
He looked away from Dango, up at the waiter standing over them. As the waiter spoke, Knives put on a small smile, not really listening to him as he was addressing Dango. But when Dango spoke, he turned to look at her.
"Well, what would you like Knives?" There was a smirk on his face as he looked at her, and he shook his head. Then, he whispered to her, "I won't let you buy my drink," so that the waiter couldn't hear. Then, he looked up at the waiter with a smile, and said, "I'll have a Miller, k?" He nodded, and turned to look at Dango. "You want somethin?"

"You might as well top me off. I can't believe you Knives, your so old fashioned!" He shrugged, and gave her a smile. "Maybe. But I'm still the man, so I refuse to let you pay for my drinks. Besides, more money for you, right?"
Once again, he tilted his head. He hesitated a short moment, gazing across the table at her. Finally, he spoke. "Sooooooo....what was it you were gonna say?"

Dango felt her heart catch in her throat as the music turned on and into a slow, 'hold your partner close' song. Obviously the DJ's '15 minute break' was over.
The music picked up, the couples made their way to the dance, and Dango sat there staring at the small gathering on the hardwood floor.
Politely she shook her head towards Knives, indicating she didn't want to tell him as the waitress came by with their drinks.

And he respected that; she was his friend, one of his favorite people he'd met so far, and he didn't want to do anything to make her uncomfortable.
The music changed, and Knives's ears twitched a bit. As he noticed the slow, steady rhythm of the music begin to play, he lifted his head from his hand, and looked over in the direction of the DJ, seeing that he had returned to his station. He smiled as he watched the other couples on the floor, dancing really close and slow. And then he returned his gaze to Dango, giving her a bit of a smirk, and squeezing her hand again. "I guess we can't dance, huh? It might getcha in trouble, right?" He let out a deep, audible sigh.

Dango chuckled, taking another sip of her drinks as her eyes gazed towards the couples. She didn't want to think about how lonely her profession was, but she really couldn't help it.
Why did she have to be alone?
"I guess we can't dance, huh? It might getcha in trouble, right?"
Dango blinked as she glanced at him, then she began to look around the club. It took some guts, but she decided to do something she hadn't before.
She stood up, walked over to him, and grabbed onto his hand.
"I said 'lets have fun', who cares if its just one dance? Just don't step on my toes and you might live through it - "
Her hand was secure against Knives as she pulled him towards the dance floor, the song was about half over anyway - whoever was spying on her could go 'fuck' themselves.
When they reached the dance floor Dango reached for Knive's right hand, intertwining her fingers with his as her free hand wrapped loosely around his waist and her head came to rest against his shoulder.
This wasn't so bad was it? It wasn't wrong was it?

Knives smiled as Dango stood up. He knew what that meant: she was actually going to do it. It made him happy that she wasn't going to worry about it, and was going to go ahead and enjoy herself. Also, he knew it would be fun; he wanted to dance with Dango anyways, especially in a slow, close dance.
As she stepped towards him, he slid out of the booth and stood up in front of her too. As he felt her hand slip into his, he clutched it, and looked down into her eyes with a big smile. As he gazed down at her, he couldn't help but admire her features; she was rather pretty. As he felt her tug at his hand, he gave her a nod; he saw her turn from him and walk to the dance floor, and he followed obediently, like a dog waiting for his treat. (^^)
Once on the floor, Knives felt Dango press up against him. He smiled happily, and wrapped one arm around her waist, holding her closely, gently. His other hand held hers. He was very content, very happy. The warm, soft feeling of Dango's body, and the comfort of being close to his friend....it was a great moment. With a happy sigh, he leaned his head to the side, letting his cheek rest comfortably atop her head.
"See, this is fun!" he smiled, as he spoke softly to her. "And don't worry....my parents made me learn how to dance like this when I was little, so I wouldn't step on a girl's toes in these situations." He smiled. "I don't remember most of the dances, but at least I can get along without hurting you."
He smiled, closed his eyes, and just enjoyed the moment.

Dango could feel his heartbeat through his shirt, making her wonder just how nervous he really was. Of course, her heart wasn't exactly beating slowly. The last time she shared a slow dance with a boy - was -

Dango was good at following Knives's lead, her body moved comfortably against his as the other couples watched the pair. A pretty girl and a dog boy, and unlikely pair indeed.

Dango nodded, glancing over her shoulder towards the doors. 3 men in suits walked in.
