newbie
hi.i've just joined.
I'm from Falkirk in Scotland and you may be aware my fave character is Jack(i.e.RDA).
Have been a fan of the show since it all began and i was fortunate to meet Michael Shanks/Christopher Judge last week (30th Jan) in Glasgow.
They were a hoot!!!
Hope to meet other fellow 'Gaters'.
Hi Jacksluvr, I saw Shanks and Judge the day before on the 29th. They are nice arn't they
Also Falkirk you say, that used to be a stomping ground for me, you ever goto the Megazone I was a realll regular there many moons ago then I had to move south
Glad to see you here, so what costume you got or looking to do then? I'm wanting to get together a SG Team outfit, and also starting on a Jaffa aswell
Another Newbie
Hi there,
I'm fairly new to this message board but I'm an old hand of the convention circuit with 4 of the 7 Stargate conventions under my belt. So its a big hello to you all out there. I migth have even talked to you guys at the wolf conventions. I was the stormtrooper at SG-5 and SG-7...
Nice to see another UKG/RPB face. Welcome to our little corner of the Internet, Feel free to goto the prop and costume sections and post any SG Props n Costumes Pics you may have as we all loooovvveee pics , So you got any SG Costume then?? Inquisative minds whant to know
Re: Another Newbie
Hey there TK,
I do have an SG costume which is the standard BDU outfit, the regular one the team wears when they go on missions. I'll be at Collectormania purchasing my TER and Zat gun to add to my costume.
At the moment, I'm surfing the 'net for army surplus online stores for another Stargate outfit the one Walter Davis (chevron guy) wears. I'm hoping to get a dress uniform in time for SG-8 this September...
Re: Another Newbie
Cool well if you goto tim.npagroup.net/sgc/index.htm there is a Source of Equipment tab hit that and you'll get a pretty decent list of UK army surplus supplies, that site is to do with The Colonel (James) from the RPB. I have a Zat coming from lightspeed after which will be the staff, then T.E.R. then cool ickle electronic Gate
I'm currently getting a SG-Team gear together and also starting to pull in resources and info to make my Jaffa costume , I was recently at the Shanks/Judge signing in Swindon in my Very non acurate Nasa Jacket with SG-Patches with Chris and Foxy see below, which pushed me into getting my fingure out, also with Me Chris n Foxy Starting the SGCC made me HAVE to have a costume as it wouldn't be right be one of the head huncho's of a Costume club without one themself
I'm also wanting to get together there Off duty Blue and Green casual uniform and Dress uniform, and promethus crew should be real easy too, But SG-Team first then the others will come along as time/money permit. I hope your Davies stuff comes together for you, keep us updated
Re: Another Newbie
Hi there,
I'll certainly keep you up to date with my SGC outfits, okay? I know James "The Col" well as I roomed with him at SG-7 and will be bunking again at SG-8 this september. I met James at SG-4 a couple of years ago. I was in my refitted Stromtrooper outfit at SG-7 for its test run and I'm happy to report that it worked very well which made me a happy bunny indeed (I can actually dress myself in the stormtrooper armour!!!!)
James said to me when he saw the troopers outfit, "just tell Graham that The Col sent you and he'll know for sure." I've done that but I still have to join the regular way for the UKG. Lastly, I should be getting my add ons from Vaderpainter in the USA any time next week
Just want to go on record that I too want to get a Blue SGC uniform this would be my 1st outfit, then I would like to get an off world kit i.e BDU/Chest Webbing/P90.
but it's looking like it will be a while until I have enough pennies as for a P90 well that's just a dream...
Re: SG-Gear
Never mind the P90, why not get a TER (Trans Phased Eradication Rod). That's what I'm after at Collectormania this April. I feel that this Collectormania is going to prove a very expensive two days for me
I've found an army surplus store here in Leeds that has the rank and insignia for my dress blues. I know I'm going to take a shed load of SG costumes to SG-8
Re: SG-Gear
When I get back to the UK theres a good possibility of me making some prop P90's as Im currently making a few lasertag versions for work and Im playing around with various molds etc.
Seeing as I already have an airsoft P90 in the Uk, it might just fall into some silicone rubber
theForce is my ally, but a kick A$$ lightsaber helps........
Hi Phil Nice to see you here Hmmm well if your P90 acidentally falls into silicon rubber let me know I might take the accident results of your hands ;b
Also I'm currently working on making myself a fully functional ZAT, with up/down and sound and lights(maybe?) and would appriciate some sound board info you may wish to put my way, also I want the electronics to universal for a few other projects like the Functional staff and pulse pistol i'm working on too. I'll drop you a mail with all the info on
Welcome, Glad you made it here We have about 6-7 definate members and a poss 5-6 more so far and growing. At the moment we're just getting our Club established and try get a few events under our belt. Your site looks good and full of info you might see some of there at a later date. Heck if we keep growing at this rate we might need to have our own SG number assigned
I like Si are from the US based SG-Command.Net forum, and Im part of the SG-4 team, I saw your post on LT's Stargate6.com forum so decided to head on over (it seems hot on the heels of Col.Parsons)
I am currently putting the finishing touches to my first costume, the standard SG greens, i have a vest, jacket, trousers, boots and the patches. I have a holster and a rucksack on order and Im saving for one of LT's slings and caps.
I second Si's invitation, if you feel like signing up to our team just join the board and drop in to the SG-4 team area.
SG-4 is planning its first get together in York! This is still only at the "idea" stage, but if we can get enough interest, we will get things set in motion.
One of our members who lives in the Great City has suggested we have a meeting in the re-creation Viking village up there, and if we can get permission, it would be a great day out.
If any of you are interested, just give us a nod, either here or on sg-command.net and we'll see what we can do!
Well I'm sure the guys n gals here would be up for any reason to run around in costume heck going to the shops for a loaf of bread for many is enough of an excuse so keep us updated
Also if you look in the General Discussion section you'll see Rick (Anubis) is trying to get a bit of a SG meet together too, not really a costume event, but hay chances are i'll be kitted up just for the hell of it anyways (Minus Weapons), in The vagas of the UK Blackpool if poss we'r going to arrange a nice day of rides and drinking so if any of your guys n gals are up for it let Rick know in the post
Re: Costume Source
Hi there,
I've found a viable costume source for the BDU's, its a little pricey but nevertheless, its ideal if you don't mind paying for what you want. The site address is www.gsgear.biz I've found it to be very good and it has all that I need to revamp my SGC BDU's in time for SG-8 this September Hopefully, it'll be enough for me to join a Stargate costume club if there is one being set up
I've tried the link (www.gsgear.biz) but I'm getting nowhere, could re-confirm for me? Also, there are a lot of places in the US where you can ship in BDU's pretty cheaply (www.outinstyle.com and www.militarycraft.com are two that come readily to mind), what exactly are you looking for?
"You all know how I relish my title as Mr Positive, but...."
