People, we need to realize that we can't always escape death. Merlin, I'm sure he was a cool brotha, I just hate that you can't even hang around your peeps without somebody hating on you! This makes no sense. How can people just kill without forethought or even remorse? We need to keep God first in our lives and teach our children that killing is wrong. JUST WRONG!!!!!

I thought I was dreaming last night when I heard the ending of our local news. The news did not repeat it on our early morning news (here in Pittsburgh). When I got into work this morning, I decided to find out for myself and check his website. How devastating? I can not believe it. Such a young, fine and talented person taken away so early in life. People, we need to STOP THE VIOLENCE. We need to love our brothers and sisters instead of hating. The violence has taken away so many of our young people, and it doesn't seem to stop. It seems like all of our up-and-coming entertainers are disappearing from the face of this earth. It all started with Tupac, The Notorious BIG, Aaliyah (plane crash), Lisa "Lefteye" Lopes (car accident), Jam Master Jay, and now Merlin Santana and others who have lost their life to tragic circumstances. Young black men are going to be extinct if the violence continues. Instead of picking up a gun, knife, etc., they need to pick up a book and read and know that killing is not right. The right thing to do is to love one another.
My heart and prayers goes out to Merlin's family, friends, and fans. The world has lost another "RISING STAR".
Please "INCREASE THE PEACE" and STOP THE VIOLENCE.

I was saddened to hear of his death on Power 105 this a.m. (can't even turn on our music without bad news every morning now, R.I.P. Merlin, JMJ et al.) I forget sometimes that he probably usta live around my way in Washington Heights (or pequeño Santo Domingo, as I like to call it). Ed Lover and 'em played one of his songs.
but I am curious as to what Blah means by "his peeps were banging...just a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time."
if banging means what I think it does, then an actor of his stature did not need to be around those peeps, who were obviously not his peeps to get him killed like that.
not to sound snobbish, but I rather be corny and alive than down with the peeps and dead - especially if I had so many things going for me.

O ma god...this world is comin 2 an end. All of da actors, actresses, singers and rappers r dyin becuz of hataz. The need 2 jump off and congradulate. Anyway Merlin was 1 of da sexiest men alive and now hes gone cuz some stupid Muda-F**$#! hata.

It is so sad how people begin to hate . I am very mad at who eva killed Santana. He waz a role model to a lot of people around dis world. So many people are being snuffed because they are drinkin 2 much haterade. It is sad but at the same time it teaches us a valuable lesson. R.I.P. Merlin Santana ~ You Will Be GREATLY Missed
This is another shameless act of violence taken out against yet another one of our talented youth. We need to stop these senseless acts of violence and start loving one another. Life is too short and people are dying everyday. Just look at Tupac, BIG, Aaliyah, Left Eye, Jam Master Jay, and now Merlin. What's going on in our world today? If we don't stop the hatred who will? If we keep this up, no one will prosper. Merlin was such a great actor and not too many people recognized his talents! I can still remember him as Stanley on the Cosby Show! I've loved everything about him since then. It's just a shame that we will never see his full potential. He was such a positive role model and it's a very sad day in the world because we have just lost an angel. My condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans.
Merlin I miss you and will never forget you! May God rest your soul!

PRAY FOR MR. & MRS. SANTANA
I am asking EVERYONE to pray for the SANTANA FAMILY and the cast of the STEVE HARVEY SHOW.
This is a sad day for all who loved this brotha's work and his cuteness (smile).
READ: PROVERBS 3:5 (Trust in the LORD).
Merlin did what GOD wanted him to do in this lifetime and GOD has choosen to take Merlin home with him.
Believe in GOD, he makes NO MISTAKES.
READ: ROMANS 10:9 (If you confess with your mouth that and belived in your heart the Jesus Christ is LORD, you shall be saved).
If you do this than you will see Merlin again when GOD calls you to go home too.
READ: MATTHEW 5:4 (Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.) - I do believe this.
We will miss his shell but the SPIRIT of Merlin will be with us forever.

I did not hear about the incident until today (Monday morning). I was familiar with some of his work. But today I need to send this to everyone reading this forum. It is very sad when we see the events taking place today. We see lives being taken everyday. So I need to tell everyone that you must get closer to God. You must develop a RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. As you will see times are going to get worse. So I am here to warn you of these things. Please don't ignore my message. Jesus is coming soon. So please get to know him. God bless you.

I really hated to hear what happened to Merlin. I didn't know him personally but I felt like I did. I want to enlarge upon the importance of our prayers for our generation. Too many young people are dying (especially in the entertainment field). I know that God is trying to get our attention. Let's pray!

All I can say to this is yes he was a fine, talented young man who seem to have the world at his finger tips. We as people, especially black america need to understand that life is to short to be living like we are. We have no cares, we live life to the fullest ... understanding nothing but Fly Girls , Luxury Cars and Big Money Hustling ... Please if ya'll don't hear nothing else from the postings.... please understand this All theses deaths and killings are happening for a reason ...God is sending us a wake up call...
