Re: An Update
Thanks, D-Man, but the "hard to find good help" was a reference to the Black Dragons, a little counter-dig to Scott's humorous jab at Tirgonia's woes in-game.

Re: An Update
Yea, as if we didn't save Tirgonia enough times.

Quoth Mr. Incredible:

"No matter how many times you save the world, it always
manages to get back in jeopardy again. Sometimes I just want it to stay saved, you know? For a little bit. I feel like the maid. 'I just cleaned up this
mess. Can we keep it clean for ten minutes?'"

I like the idea of playing Daerond, if it ends up in LoT. I know next to nothing about that place but for twenty years it was personified by one image (minus the title):

I'm not sure why but that's what I picture everyone in Daerond wearing.

Re: An Update
80 countries are you insane? What kind of newsfax/book are you going to release? Will you be writing a few paragraphs for each like Scott S. or just one or two sentences for each country like some other LOTE games I have looked at?

With 80 countries the support logistics for the game would be enormous. Not that you can't handle it, just the burn out would likely to be high and turn turn around would be long. And all that math....

Don't get me wrong, you start it up, I'll be there with my "I fought at the Battle of Five Demons and all I got was this crappy T-shirt" T-Shirt, I am just wondering if the dreaded Scope Creep is invading. 20 to 30 nations would probably be the tops. How is the general response to non-standard games? Lords52 I think is awesome but we have just about 20.

Now that being said, isn't there a country of minotaurs? Thats what I want to run.

Re: An Update
80 positions is a whole lot. The LOTE GM book says that for a standard campaign of 50 positions you can expect turn processing to take 40 hours. That's a full work week.

Response to a good fantasy campaign is likely to be huge.

My first king shall be called Cormac. And he will fly, with his pretty armor and smite Daerond with his long spear, and it will hurt a lot.

re: Daerond. Yep, everyone. Even in the bathtub.

re: 80 positions (76 countries, plus primacies, etc.):
a) I've been at this since 1977. I might burn out, but not any time soon.
b) And obviously, that's why we'll start smaller. I'll probably be limiting it to 30 positions, initially.
c) A fair number of those 80+ positions are little NPC nations.
d) Lords One had more than 80 positions. It ran for 220 turns.
e) Full newsfax. No wimpiness. Obviously slower than L52 if it ever reaches full size (which I doubt).

Have you met me?

I found Brythnia earlier today. Can't wait for Highlander Clovenhoof to take the throne.

Centaur cavalry and Minotaur heavy infantry. Potent!

Then there's the Llyran Republic...

Scott,

That map is massive!

I think I want to stick to the areas I'm familiar with: Skane, Tirgonia Connorian Empire etc... or Maybe some nasty Orc tribe.

Anyhow count me in.

Well, luckily, that's where we're starting.

Send me an e-mail with your position picks (before the deadline).

Two weeks to go in the lottery, folks. If you're going to do it, now's a good time!

One week (okay, eight days) to go to the lottery. Some of you have joined and some haven't. Halle and Sean, you both expressed an interest. Now's the time to join!

www.theeurth.com/lords54/

Mike, Scott, Whitney, Kenner and Jason are in.

By the way, guess who else just surprised me by joining?

Mr. Bub!

Re: It's ready.
Thanks for the invite, Scott, but one PB email game is enough for me right now.

Along those lines, I hope that those of you who do have the time to join another game will give serious consideration to increasing your participation here as well. We waited 5 days just to find Sangraal staring at the wall and Janes and Atan haven't spoken or moved in 6 days.

If you guys are too busy to play, how about a extending a little courtesy to your fellow players and letting us know that so we are not waiting around for input that never arrives? Better yet - get back in the game!
