Well then What *are* we to do?
Meneloss gives up on the undertower along with the others. Upon returning to Grugni's he asks Ruglan: "Ruglan, why do you never speak?"
When the silent fighter ignores him again, Meneloss mutters something in Elven under his breath and goes off to the beach for a while to stare at the sea. Returning at about the same time as the other Elves, Meneloss whistles at the bounty of the hunt.
He talks to them while they clean their carcasses in Elven: "Well my brothers, I have no ties to any mortal, place or time. So then, I am free to throw my lot in with whomever I wish for as long as I see fit. I would be honored if I could follow two of the Merek Lek, that is if you'll have me."

Time to go?
Sangraal grins as the two Elves begin carving up the deer.
" Such fine meal Yelm has allowed us. After the meal is done and the food prepared we should sit and dicusss our next step over a hot meal."

Re: Time to go?
Madragar and Vala appear, dressed for the road, and set their ready packs by the door.

"I am ready to be off, to find safety for Vala. But I would hear of your plans, that I may attempt to rejoin our company one day."

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
"I think the consensus was investigating the sounds from the mountains. Just to make sure all remember from last night, there are rumors of a giant living on the tallest peak. The other option was working for Werthyn to earn some money."

[OOC: Jubilex, is a giant considered a creature a of chaos?]

Meneloss looks at his friends and his smile drops from his face. He gets up and gives Vala a chaste kiss on her cheek and a big hug. He then gives Madragar a bear hug and a clap on the back.
"I will no tries to say don't go. I knows you does what is right. So Tenna' ento lye omenta"

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
Looking at Madragar and Vala, Kezib says "May Yelm be a light on your path. May the light of Yelm be protection from chaos and may you find safety for your friend and may our paths cross again. You two will be in my thoughts".

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
[Chaos generally manifests itself as a corrupting influence on a natural creature. Thus the broo, which were normal animals at one point, have been corrupted by the power of Chaos and are now totally unnatural beasts. Any living thing has the potential to fall under the sway of Chaos.

So to answer your question, giants are not necessarily creatures of Chaos but they could be. There are certainly legends of giants (which are not always humanoid, by the way) fighting alongside broo and their shadowy masters. Such creatures are, of course, extremely dangerous.]

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
"Well, quite honestly, if there is a giant beast roaming the countryside, I feel compelled to try to do something to save these people. I mean, that is a ways off but I think we have stayed here long enough. I say we check out the beast".

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
Ruig shakes his head. "I'm not convinced there's a giant roaming the wilds. The Ghurugil know of only one such creature in the northern part of the Turgut Mountains and that beast is no friend of Chaos. I speak of the ancient cave giant Koraeus. If anything the false thunder was that mighty beast tearing up the mountain side, casting the spawn of Chaos to their deaths."

"Very dangerous, giants." Draxim raises an eyebrow at Ruig and continues in dwarvish.

"Do we want to investigate anyways?" asks Kezib, as he gathers up his bed roll and prepares his pack.

"I believe we must, young Kezib," grumbles Ruig. "If Chaos is lurking in the southern forest then it must be found... if for no other reason than to spread the word of its coming."

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
Madragar claps Meneloss on the shoulder. "I am glad of it, my friend. When Vala is safe, I shall find your trail again."

When Ruig mentions the giant, Madragar say "I know Koraeus. I once spent the night in his hall. I was there as servant to my master Edrigan. I know not where the hall may lie, however. We did not travel the paths of men."

"But Koraeus was a noble host and no creature of Chaos, unless I very much miss my guess."

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
Ruig brightens. "Ah, the mountain hall of Koraeus. I would like to see it someday. Master Boahur, the chief of the Ghurugil, has spoken of it with great fondness."

No to Giants
Slowly Sangraals expression of content, as it was a rather good meal, turns sour.
"A giant? I am but a young brother of the Light, but I know enough to say trying to find a giant is folly. What if we do find it? or it finds us? If it is good and was attacked by broo. Then the battle is long past and its fate decided. If the giant is of ill spirit then....he'll crush us."
He stops to let his statement sink in and stares intently at the glowing coals in the hearth.

" To the village of Werthyn we should travel. We can warn the people of this new threat, maybe earn our keep and a little more for our pockets. For if we defend every lodge we occupy as well as we did this one" He points to the broken door nailed back in place.
"We'll be broke and sleeping in the woods."

Rising from his seat he calls out to Grugni if she could join them in the common room.
"To help you in your replenesment of your supplies and to offset costs for repair." Sangraal produces a small cloth bag and hands it gently over to Grugni.
"We took up a small collection to show our apprecation of your hospitality,"
Leaning over to speak into her ear, "and patience." He whispers loudly before bursting into a bit of laughter.

Yes to the Giants
Meneloss can hardly keep his jaw closed when Madragar tells about visiting the hall of Koraeus. A legendary Giant and a friendly one at that! What amazing and terrible creatures was he smashing with great stones the size of houses?! He shakes his head at Sangraal slowly and says " No, I must see this Koraeus! I don't want to be shepherd." He turns to his Elven companions with a pleading expression. And says "We must see why Koraeus throws the large stones, yes?"

Re: Well then What *are* we to do?
"I think most of us agree that the noise from the mountains is the direction we should travel. Whether the giant is friend or foe of Chaos is undecided...but those who know of it claim friend. With the dwarves we can be at the mountains in 2 days reaching them just before dusk on the second day."

Atan grabs his backpack and bedroll, which he arranged this morning, and is ready to go. "We will be gone at least a week so everyone ensure you have enough food. Because of the easy dwarf pace, Yimris and I can supplement with wild game but it is not guarenteed. I have an extra waterskin for those whose may have been damaged or lost."
