Re: The House
Meneloss fighting back tears calls to Sangraal "You come here
Sangraal. We have works to do inside." Then he switches to a choked Elven, his voice cracking several times "Atan keep young Ruglan outside for now, this is not for anyone's eyes but especially not for his. This is horrible."
He then waits for Sangraal outside the house trying to hide his tears from the others.
[what are funery rights in Moagara? I imagine cremation would be a preferred form to protect the bodies from the very real threat of undeath]

Re: The House
The pain though subsided still causes Sangraal to sag his sholders as he approuchs the dwelling. He can hear Meneloss switching between the soft elvan laungage to broken Moagaran, though his speech changes his tone does not and Sangraal can hear the horror in his voice.
Stopping at the entrence to the dwelling, Sangraal removes his helm, gauntlet and morningstar, dropping them uncerimously in a pile outside the door. Sangraal begins reciting the Litinies of Yelm as the strong smell of death wafts through the open door.
His voice dies in his throat, overwelmed by the stench and gore.
"So much darkness..." he says.
Motioning to Meneloss with his free hand, his other locked in a white knuckled grasp on his holy symbol.
Sangraal makes the sign Lumina with his holy symbol, a rising hand from sternum to forehead and them quick motions to the left and the right at an angle to complete the upward pointing arrow.
" Let us take them out into the fields and bury them in the sun so Humakt may recieve them, but Yelm can guide them to his sons arm."

Re: The House
Meneloss steps over to the destroyed body of the child and begins to gather it in his arms. He cannot control his tears at this point. Dazedly, he walks the tiny corpse outside and gently lays it down in the next to the house. He then helps the others bring the remaining bodies ouside.
"Atan, Ruglan, puts the Broo inside. This house burns, it is accursed. Lets them burn with it."

Re: The House
"Yelm's teeth..." a strange voice exclaims.

Standing just a few feet away at the corner of the house are three men. Either they approached with stealth or perhaps everyone was too fixated on the carnage to notice. One is Moagaran in simple leather armor, but bears a battleaxe that looks suspiciously like the one used by the broo that fled. The other two are full blooded Olmani tribesmen, obvious by their dark complexions and distinctive tribal dress of high boots and puffed trousers. They are unarmored but wield thin, curved blades that glisten in the twilight with the sheen of fresh blood.

The Moagaran, apparently the one who spoke, is looking on the mangled corpse in Meneloss' arms with stunned horror.

Re: The House
Atan kneeling by Yimris, stops and stares as Menelos emerges from the house. The small lifeless corpse hanging limply from the elven mages arms. Turning his head away he hastily finishes some rudimentary wrappings of Yimris' wounds. Grabbing his bow he stands, a little to quickly and staggers just a touch. Rubbing his right arm, "There is still one more and it is wounded. I cannot bear the thought that another child may fall prey. We must kill it."

Stangers
Hearing the stange voices, Sangraal calls out in Moagarii as he hurriedly exits the dwelling.
"I am Sangraal of Dobrug, Brother of the Light. May Yelm guide you." Sangraal nods to the stangers, then motions to the house.
" We tracked a band of broo and destroyed those that did this but some did scatter. We counted at least two had fled, though I think the axe you bear tells the tale of only one broo left to look for."

Re: Stangers
After Meneloss lays the body down in the field he takes a moment to compose himself. He sniffs snot away from his nose and looking at his blood stained hands and sleeves, forgoes whiping his face. He then blinks away the last of his tears and sighs. Brushing his bloody hands blood on the ground, he stands up to face the newcomers. He makes a slight bow and introduces himself "Meneloss" he says puting his palm to his chest. He goes on: "Did you know these peoples?"

Re: Stangers
After his announcment to find and kill the remaining Broo Atan sheepishly turns to face the newcomers. Slightly embarassed for allowing his emotions to cloud his mind and the obvious loss of situational awarness, he stands silently awaiting the others reactions.

Re: Stangers
[What does Yimris need in order to repair his bow?]

Yimris sits on the ground looking grim while fingering his axe. He has a slightly crazed look in his eye as he stares off in the direction that the fleeing Broo took >: .

"This last one will almost certainly leave a blood trail. He will be easy to follow, may Humakt rend his soul!"

Re: Stangers
[Yimris will need a new string.]

The stranger and his Olmanii companions look the group over for a moment, and one of the tribesman mumbles something in his native dialect. The Moagaran replies, "Yulbo ke kalig. Vashareisa mohar vye adun," then makes a gesture toward the cluster of broo corpses.

The Moagaran then turns to Sangraal before tossing the crude broo weapon to the ground. "I am Nrulias. This is Kashan and Bulh." He gestures to the Olmanii but they make no sign that they understand him, instead moving over to the broo corpses. Inspecting the dead, they both produce blood-stained rags and clean their curved blades before sheathing them.

Nrulias continues. "We saw the lights from the road yonder. It was like a brilliant rainbow, though twilight is coming on. When we saw the broo running from the house we expected the worst. The beast's days are ended, thank Yelm."

Nrulias moves into the doorway of the house and stares at the carnage.

Re: Stangers
[The Olmani are horse nomads and barbarian tribesman from the vast grasslands west of Dobrug. You've seen them in Dobrug, mostly as merchants and caravan guards, but they speak a different language and generally keep to themselves. It is certainly odd seeing them this far to the east.]

Re: Strangers
Sangraal introduces the 3 elves and Ruglan before asking questions of the strangers.
" It is uncommon to see Olmanii this far east, what brings you this way?"

Re: Strangers
Atan and Yimris begin talking quietly in elven. A short bout of laughter later and Atan straightens up. He then walks into the field in the direction of the first slain Broo sentry.

[Let me know if any are usable.]

Re: Strangers
The tribesmen are not paying attention to Sangraal and for the moment Nrulias seems consumed by the gruesome scene inside the house. Then, turning back to Sangraal with the gleam of tears in his eyes, he eagerly grasps the priest's hands and shakes them vigorously.

"Our Lady said someone was coming, it is sad that you did not arrive ahead of the broo instead of behind them. Praise the Light you put an end to these filthy animals, brother." Releasing Sangraal's hands, Nrulias reaches into the neck of his tunic and lets a heavy wooden necklace fall onto his chest. It is crude and poorly carved, but the iconography is unmistakable: a shining sun with an open hand inside it.

Seeing Nrulias' gesture, the Olmani tribesman stand from their inspection of the broo and they too reach into the tunics and withdraw the same holy symbol. Joining Nrulias and Sangraal, in turn each man takes Sangraal's hand and, bending in a low bow, touches the back of it to their foreheads.

Grumpy
Yimris comes out of the house and walks over to a Broo body and starts kicking it violently. It's sounds like he's muttering "Good for nothing but #*!@ fertilizer, #$%@!#$# Broo!"

After a minute or so of this he seems to calm down and asks (surprisingly pleasantly), "Does anyone have a spare bow string? It's a little embaressing to be caught without one, but I busted my last spare a couple of weeks ago and haven't had time to make a new one."

Re: Strangers
Meneloss' expression turns dark and looks about him he sharply says in Moagari: "Please! There is more!" He motions the group to the house. He stomps into the house and in heated words says something in Elven to Yimris.
Not waiting for help, he begins to drag the adult corpses outside and will lay them next to the child.

Brothers
Sangraal bows to each of the stangers in aknowledgement.
"I am always honored to meet those who follow the faith. From where do you hail? I was raised at the Cloister in Dobrug, a town 2 weeks march to the west."
