Re: The Hunt
Nrulias smiles to Sangraal and says with a bit of sarcasm, "um, yes. I've heard of Dobrug."

Then, to the Olmanii, "garush vitan, ala maidar kulun." In response the two tribesmen move to the house and get a pick and shovel. Walking out to a corner of the clearing they begin to dig.

"You should come with me to see our Lady, and enjoy her hospitality. It will be dark soon and this is no place for anyone to spend the night."

Re: The Hunt
Atan returns from the field and begins checking the broo looking for that last arrow he fired, as well as any items of interest.

Re: The Hunt
Sadly, Atan finds no salvagable arrows. Ruglan's decapitated victim spun wildly to the ground, snapping both arrows in its death throes. The battleaxe wielding creature that Atan shot broke the shaft of that arrow sometime during the wild combat.

Ruglan says, "I need to retrieve my pack from the ridge before we leave." He starts walking back out through the wheat, careful not to step in any rodent burrows.

Re: The Hunt
"Humakt's oath!" Atan comes back empty handed and looking unhappy. "Yimris, lets collect some wood for a fire. The sun should set in a an hour or so. I don't know about you all but I have had a long week and could use a good nights sleep."

To Yimris aside, " I was checking out that first broo and how do you always get the throut shots? I've been trying but I think I am not leading enough. "

Re: The Hunt
After the bodies are lain out, Meneloss says a quick prayer to Yelm in Elven. He will help the Olmanii place them in the graves. Once all is finished he says to Nrulias "I am wanting to go to your lady house. Thanks to you. Were these peoples family?"
Meneloss rubs his forehead inadvertantly getting the black Moagaran earth on his face. He is very tired, emotionally drained, and hungry for a real meal. The prospect of a fire, warm food, a place to clean himself, and a comfortable place to put his bedroll helps him to forget for now the image of the child's eyeless face.

Re: The Hunt
It takes some time, but the three bodies are buried and Nrulias recites a brief litany in their honor. The tribesmen drag the broo corpses to the road and leave them in a pile.

"Tomorrow, we burn them," Nrulias mentions. "Now, will you all be joining me at the longhouse?"

Re: The Hunt
Atan nods in agrement with Nrulias, "A hot meal and warm fire. Sounds like the sirens are singing."

Turning to Menelos and Sanrgraal. "I am up for it. How about you all?"

Nodding in agreement Sangraal moves to retrieve his dropped equipment.
[On the way back to the long house, Sangraal will speak at length with the other priests. In other words I'll be away from the computer most of today so please play through.]

As Yimris heads into the woods with Atan to look for firewood, "The throat shots aren't putting them down any faster than the legs shots. I think we might need to start aiming for the heart and lungs. THAT should slow them down some."

Re: The Hunt
The group moves down the dirt road away from the ill-fated farmhouse. Kashan and Buhl are in the lead, about sixty feet ahead, scanning the surrounding fields for other interlopers. Only a few hundred feet along the road and the group comes across the butched corpse of the last broo. Its legs and torso have been cut open in a half dozen places and it lays motionless in a drainage ditch.

Twilight passes into a chill, star filled night and Nrulias lights a small lantern. He and the Olmanii seem to know very well where they are going and follow the road through several different junctions, each probably leading to some other farmstead. The main road becomes wider and well worn as the group gets farther into the cultivated lands. At last they march over a low rise and a small village comes into view.

The village consists of only a dozen wooden huts and a single, central longhouse. The whole place is surrounded by a ten foot tall pallisade with an iron reinforced wooden gate at each end. A bonfire has been lit in the middle of the village, and the lantern lights of the pallisade watchmen can be seen circling the perimeter.

Re: The Hunt
Nrulias nods in agreement. "There is room in the longhouse for every farmer from here to Tunlura, but thanks to you we won't need to raise the alarm tonight."

"Nrulias, we had our first encounter with these Broo at a house by the ocean. Madame Grugni is her name I believe. We left a few compatriots there when we set out this morning. By chance can you direct us on a quicker return route tommorow morning?"

[Sangraal can't see much from outside the pallisade. The longhouse is the only structure that seems different from the others.]
