[The group is about 80 feet from the house, which is to the northeast. The sound is coming from the east or the southeast.
BTW, I misinterpreted Yimris' intentions. He had planned to follow "elk head" but I thought he decided to stay with the group. Oh well...]

[Waiting until it is close (40 feet) as best as I can judge. At 40 I will pop up, bow ready (a la Red Dawn) and give a signal to let everyone else know.]

Thinking that he's going to have to get a cover for his damned axe, Yimris turns around to try to see whatever it is closing in. If Broo, then he will of course fire immediately.

Yimris and Atan both pop their heads above the wheat and immediately spot one of the broo, a javelin in its right hand ready to throw, moving quickly through the field about forty feet to the southeast. It's head is swinging left to right searching for a target, but the elves spot him first and fire.
Yimris gets off the first arrow and it strikes true, slicing into the furry meat of the broo's neck. Atan's arrow disappears into the wheat, but the creature cries out in pain so it must have hit as well. Yimris quickly nocks another arrow and draws it back to his ear... causing the string to snap, the broken ends whipping painfully against the elf's face. Yimris lets out a foul curse and grabs for his cheek, a bloody welt running from his eye to his chin.

Meneloss will wait until the Broo is within 30' and will cast Flare:subject is -1 to hit for 10 rnds (1 min).

Ruglan could reach the broo and attack if he wanted to charge (+2 to hit, -4 AC). Or he could move toward the broo and wait for it to come to him. Or he could stay where he is and attack if it comes towards the group.

Plowing through the wheat, Ruglan closes the distance between the group and the wounded broo in a flash. The beast is still struggling with the arrow in its neck and has little chance to defend itself as the bold town watchman comes upon it.
Ruglan had wanted to face a real creature of Chaos for so long, this beast could have been The Lord of All Broodom and it would have been just as doomed. All those miserable townsfolk passing through the east gate of Dobrug... all those tedious questions... all those fruitless searches. Now, at last, he could kill.
The broo looked up at the screaming warrior just long enough to give Ruglan a clear shot at its neck. The thing's head flies from its shoulders in a fountain of blood before falling to the ground like a slaughtered cow. (20!)
Meneloss abandons his plans to flare the creature. Sangraal finally pops his head up from the wheat and looks around.
There is some commotion coming from the farmhouse.

Reading his weapon.Sangraal ducks his head back down and calls on Yelm to guide their steel arrows and blades so they may smite the foul damnations.
[Sangraal casts Bless +1 to hit and +1 to fear saves for allies 10 rnds make sure to add this in fellow team members]
[Scott, you said Meneloss abandons the flare spell. I thought spells go off on your initative? and that they are either an attack action or a full action. Can you clarify if this is not the correct definition.]

Meneloss recovering from the sudden fury of Ruglan's attack, closes his agape jaw. He looks towards the house. Rembering the chants and incantations of his Master Eol, Meneloss calls out in a language even Ymris and Atan do not know: "Eol aarenen ninquita turma!" AC 22 +7 cover from Shield spell 10 rnds
