Re: Twilight Farm Attack
[Meneloss was to take his action before the broo, but decided to put a condition on his spell: wait until the broo came within 30'. Before that condition was fulfilled the broo was killed, and his action for the round was lost.
At this point we're still on the initiative order. Everyone gets an action, starting with Sangraal, and then I'll step in and let you know what comes out of the house.]

"Ruglan Brooslayer!",Atan yells as he dashs through the grain stalks towards the house. Stopping abruptly he raises his bow, draws an arrow to his ear and aims at the doorway.
[Move & Trigger on first broo in doorway. I think I should be about 50 from the house correct?]

Yimris as an aside to Atan says in elvish, "They never seem to remember the archers, just the glory of hand to hand. Glory is for fools, death is a craft."

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
[I'll take that to mean Yimris follows Atan up to his position: in the wheat field but with a clear line of sight to the back door, which is about 50 feet away to the northeast. Ruglan has returned to where Yimris fell in the hole, which is about thirty feet from Atan and Yimris. Sangraal and Meneloss are also at this position, having just completed their spells. The rangers are well within the range of Yelm's divine glory... that is, Sangraal's Bless spell.]

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
No one is surprised when a pack of snarling broo come roaring out of the farmhouse door, weapons in hand. They burst through the stacks of empty crates and farm implements, sending bits of debris scattering in their headlong charge. The gleaming white teeth of the hideous, hyena-headed broo shine through fur matted with the dark red of dried blood. The broo, it seems, have been feeding.
Atan lets an arrow fly as soon as the lead broo is at the optimal range. It is a hit to the creature's abdomen, but in its rage the broo doesn't seem to notice. In just a few short seconds all four broo are upon Atan and Yimris.
[I'm going to give Yimris the benefit of the doubt and say that since he has a standard action ready he could set the trigger: attack the first enemy that comes into my threatened area.]
Yimris takes a step in front of Atan and greets the wounded broo with a swing of his battle axe. The beast moves in quickly, however, and the Yimris hits with the axe handle instead of the blade to little effect. The broo brings his gnarled axe down against the elf with a huge overhand swing and Yimris barely manages to block the full force. The edge of the axe does manage to strike his shoulder, however, and the red of fresh blood shines through his tunic. Yimris and the broo become entangled in each other's weapons, each struggling for balance in the press of bodies.
A second broo, also armed with a rusted battleaxe, sidesteps the first and tries to hack into Yimris' exposed midsection. It is a wide swing, however, and the broo fails to connect with anything but empty air.
The third broo, carrying nothing but a large club, runs past Yimris to get to Atan. Yimris takes a swing as the creature passes but it is weak and ill-aimed. The thing leaps on Atan, trying to dash his brains into the dirt, but the elf deftly dodges the attack.
The final broo, wielding a crude longspear, lunges at Atan but the clumsy swinging of the club-carrying broo fouls the attack.
Atan and Yimris are neck deep in broo...

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
Meneloss, strides quickly forward towards the axe wielding Broo beseting Yimris. After he closes the gap, he will try to position himself between Yimris and his attackers. Then, using the techniques of his master Eol, Meneloss sends a brilliant cone of multi-colored light at the two chaos-spawn invoking the words: "Brualuin denolin galrilen feiren!" Color Spray: cone, d6 creatures affected, knocks unconscious up to 2hd for 2d4 rnds, then blinded for d4 rnds, then stunned for 1 rnd;3-4 hd blinded for d4 rnds then stunned for 1 rnd [Meneloss will cast defensively (+8 to his concentration check)]
[I am a little confused as to the placement of the party. I am assuming he is 30' away from the rangers with Sangraal and Ruglan. He can move 30' and still cast a spell right? Obviously he is trying to avoid getting either Yimris or Atan in the area of effect while attempting to maximize the number of Broo in the cone. I again assume he can get the two axe wielders in the cone but not any Broo on Atan. 9 rnds remaining on the Shield]

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
[Everyone gets a movement action and a standard action. The movement action lets Meneloss move 30'. He can take the standard action before or after the movement action. So, he could move up and cast his spell. However, note that color spray is a massive 25' cone so there is no need for Meneloss to get close enough to have to cast defensively.
Now, as for positioning, just say you want to color spray as many enemies as possible without hitting Atan and Yimris and that will do. Meneloss is smart enough to scope out the situation as he approaches and fire off the spell from the right spot.
Also, Yimris' favored enemy should be Broo, not Chaos. Chaos is too general.]

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
Meneloss strides up to the combat purposefully, producing a pinch of multicolored powder from his pouch. Suddenly, the dim orange twilight is ripped wide open with a blast of corruscating colors. Splitting the gap between Atan and Yimris, the undulating, hypnotic light washes over both of Atan's opponents. The club-wielding broo drops like he was hit in the head with an sledgehammer, but the longspear broo manages to get in his shadow so remains standing.

[Sorta. I gave everyone an action before the broo since they were still rousing themselves inside the house. Everyone's initiative is the same except that Sangraal is now before the broo, not after.]

Re: Twilight Farm Attack
[I am still shaky on the 3rd ed. rules so I my intention is to avoid an AOO by the spear.]
Atan drops his bow as the Broo charge washs forward and reaches for his sword. Moving up the haft of the Broo's weapon he cuts at the foul creature of chaos.
[Draws weapon, 5 foot move, attack +4 to hit, 1d8 +4 DMG.]

[To clarify, on the map I am stepping to the right so as to be to the right of the downed broo and facing the spear weilding Broo. Any AOO on unconcious foes adjacent to you?]
