Re: The Village of Werthyn
"She certainly was well enough to bake us a fine pumpkin bread." Atan shifts his legs to be more comfortable, " Another point of interest was that we left four other companions with Grugni this morning. I believe they were intent on exploring the ruins that the Broo had already tossed. As I mentioned before it appeared to be an observation tower. Do you know of it?"

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Hegi smiles when Atan mentions Grugni's bread.
"There are many such watchtowers Atan. They stretch in an unending line across the northern coast, all the way to Isselwaith. Others can be found along the rivers. I don't know why this one was worth a visit by broo so far from the wild lands."
Again the woman pauses, seeming to catch her breath.
"The ways of Chaos are strange, and it knows many secrets. There might be something hidden there, or perhaps the place itself had some signifigance. I hope your companions were well prepared for their explorations."
At that moment a woman arrives. She is very pretty and has the healthy glow of vitality common to Moagaran youth. Her long brown hair is tied in a single braid that falls down her back, and her simple green dress conceals a body in the full flush of her maturity. She does not look directly at any of you, seeming to be more than a little intimidated by your hard looks. The woman sets down a large basket in front of Hegi. It is full of wool and linen garments.
"Ah, thank you," Hegi says to the retreating woman. "As a token of my thanks I'd like you to take these clothes to replace those that have been stained by innocent blood. It is not good to allow such things to linger around the living."

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Meneloss bows deeply and brings his right hand to his heart. He looks the old woman in her eye and says "I cannot say how I feel in your tongue so I say it in mine: Elebeth Fin golondiom alandoi Gethberen"
[My deepest thanks to you woman of wisdom and beauty]
Meneloss is eager to get into the clean clothes for he is weary and ready for rest.

Re: The Village of Werthyn
"My thanks matriarch, you show us much kindness." Sangraal graciously accepts the clothing she has offered.
" Atan spoke of the ruins by Grugnis home, I have explored them and it was as no other Imperial relic. In the dirt floor was a trapdoor that led to a small room. I sensed a great unbalance and called upon Yelm to protect me and my friend.
The spirit fled and we were left staring at a door covered in what I can only guess to be Imperial runes."
"We left several to explore it while we went after the Broo, as it is we will most likely return to Grugnis home in the morning, now that are task is all but complete."
Sangraal turns to see if his companions agree.

"Yes, thank you all for these clothes and this feast. If it is not an inconvenience I have some requests. Some of us are still hurt from our encounter. By chance do you have supplies that we could use in caring for our wounds?"

Re: The Village of Werthyn
"Yes Atan, I will have someone see to your wounds. I would guess that none of them are urgent, considering the vigor with which you sampled our food and ale." Hegi smiles, leaning forward in her chair as she addresses Sangraal.
"Young acolyte, I know little of these watchtowers. My domain is the hearth and the harvest, and there is enough trouble there to occupy us fully. There are those in the town that may know more. Noq Marda is the captain of the watch, a former legionnaire I believe. He would know..." Suddenly Hegi's face grows dark and her voice lowers into an almost threatening growl. "But avoid the Lunar man they call Chark. He is a serpent."
Just as suddenly, Hegi's face brightens. "Come, is there anything else I can do? You have done us a great service? Do you need work? Ara is always looking for strong arms such as you."

"I would be glad to give her a hand but first I need to attend to my arms wound. Maybe Ara could show me to the medicinal area."

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Hegi smiles again, almost laughing.
"Oh no," glancing at the young woman that is standing a discrete distance away, watching the coversation. "That is Shala, a disciple of mine. Ara is a man, he leads the herders across the river in the Hrulru. He sees to our protection as well. Nrulias, in fact, works for him." Then, reaching out to touch Atan's hand, she whispers, "Ara can appreciate a jest, but his name has lost all humor to him. It would be best to avoid that subject."

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Atan seems to ponder what she has said for a moment. "Why does Ara require additional strength? Do you suffer chaos raids often or is there a specific task you wish of us?"

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Hegi makes a gesture toward Shala while listening to Atan. The young woman nods and disappears behind a curtain. Turning back to Atan, the matriarch answers "well... I leave such things to Ara. It is quiet here, west of the river, compared to the dangers of the Hrulru. He seems to be very busy. You can find him at the stockyards at the ford below Tunlura."

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Atan looks at his friends again and figures that, other then Menelos, everyone else has been knocked into some speechless stupor. "Of course we will return to Grugni's to learn of our companaions fates but from there we may head to the ford and meet with Ara. Maybe you mentioned this before Hegi, but what is the Hrulru? I am unfamiliar with that name."

Re: The Village of Werthyn
Hegi brightens, obviously pleased that a young elf is actually interested in her small part of the world.
"The Hrulru is a wide pasture land, very fertile. The herders graze their cattle on it in the warm months, then retire to Tunlura when the weather grows cold. It is dangerous, so I'm told. There are many wolves, and large ones come out of the Ulm to track the herds."

Hoof in mouth?
Meneloss casts a sideways glance to Atan as he says in Elven: "I am no shepard nor do I wish to be. Yet my pouch grows ever lighter. So we go to hunt the wolf! But please, tell this lady we need to sleep, I soon will slumber in my boots." Meneloss tries, but fails, to hold back a yawn. He blurts an apology to Hegi "I sorry!"
Meneloss then catching a last glimpse of Shala's backside as she slips behind the curtain thinks to himself it has been so very long since he has had the comforts of a young woman...
[ooc: Indeed *why* are they in such a stupor? C'mon guys!]

Ruglan covers his mouth as the reflex of watching someone else yawn causes him to yawn. "We are grateful for your offer," he says to the Matriarch. "I think my companions and I need to rest and discuss this again in the morning."

"Well it seems that our days exertions have finally caught up to us. Everyone is yawning. Except Sangraal here." Atan leans over and pokes his shoulder. "You awake?"

Re: Hoof in mouth?
Startled Sangraal jumps at Atans touch.
" Wolves, yes, Hrulalala herds cows... I heard everything" The days many events and now with a full belly, Sangraal had dozed off on his feet.
Apologeticly Sangraal offers " I ment no disrespect, its just been a day like no other."
