A word of caution for Yimris: Moving forward to cover Tagra's body will put you in range of two longspears. That means two AoOs if you fire your bow.

The enormous broo stands tall, ready to receive Yimris' fire. The first arrow is true and strikes Elkhead in its massive chest. Without hesitation the monster rips the barbed arrow from its flesh and throws it contemptuously to the ground. With a roar the thing crouches low, ready to spring on the defiant archer. For a moment Yimris is unnerved and his arrow flies high between the grotesque black antlers of the beast.
Inside the house, Madragar loads another bolt in his crossbow and fires at the fleeing broo, but to no effect.
Stand by for the broo.

Poison
[ Have we noticed any effect from the poison that we put on our arrows? ]
[Some of the broo have been affected. Unfortunately they were killed quickly thereafter. The poison takes a round or two to take effect. -GM]

Ruglan's opponent swings desperately with its axe, knocking the man's shield aside and opening up a minor wound in his left arm.
Inside, Draxim and Sangraal face off against two wounded but still deadly adversaries. The badly wounded axe broo makes a half hearted swing at Sangraal but again it is easily parried. Draxim's opponent throws itself backward against the brick hearth and stabs violently at the dwarf. Draxim dodges the attack but the broo's thrashing upsets the roast pig and two flaming logs roll out of the fire and onto the floor. Black smoke billows from the upset fireplace.
Atan at last lures a broo into his punji pits, and the axe wielding creature drives one of the sharpened stakes into its own calf. This makes it both angry and clumsy, and its swing catches Atan in the foot. Not a bad injury, but the ranger's luck could be running out.
Elkhead's lung seems to be a feint. Instead of leaping on Yimris, the creature ducks down and retreats into the wheatfield a few paces. A moment later it emerges again with its recently enslumbered (?) companion wide awake and ready to fight.
To the left, a spear wielding hyena head advances toward Yimris and stabs violently at the elf. Yimris tries to parry the attack with his bow but the strength of the broo and its spear blasts through his guard. The sharp iron point of the weapon drives into Yimris' abdomen just below his navel, not stopping until it reaches his pelvis bone on the other side. Yimris cries out in pain and drops to the ground. His legs don't seem to be working for him anymore.

Sangraal backpeddles 5 feet ( No AOO) before attempting to smash the spearwielding broos head between his morningstar and the brick hearth.
[OOC: Even if I miss Draxim will get the backstabb if he moves up to attack.]

Yimris will roll back 5 ft and suck down all the berries he has.

[You can still take a full action, you just can't get up at the moment. You could crawl 5' and shoot your bow, or bite its ankle, or whatever.]

Leaving his opponent in the dust, Sangraal turns around and winds up for a mighty blow. His morningstar comes down on the back of the broo's head, cracking open its skull and dashing its brains onto the floor. Two hundred pounds of fur and muscle fall over the burning logs, extinguishing them but also filling the house with the stench of burning broo hair. Yeeesh...
[5s is dead. Draxim, Yimris, Kezib, Ruglan...]

Atan lashes out at his off-balanced opponent (8a) and cuts it across the belly. The broo grunts in pain but is still standing despite the blood pouring from the wound.
Yimris crawls back out of spear range and screams as he puts two arrows into his attacker (12s). The first shaft glances off the creatures tough head, knocking open a flap of skin though it barely seems to notice. The second arrow hits the hyena head in the center of its chest. The thing reels back from the blow, but only for a moment. Shaking its head and snorting powerfully, the wounded broo advances.
In front of the farmhouse, Ruglan spits and curses as he rains blows on the gutted creature (9a) The broo barely manages to bring the haft of its axe up in time to parry the attacks, and remains standing despite Ruglan's best efforts.
Draxim, free from the attentions of that wicked longspear, charges into the badly wounded broo in the corner (4a). With the name of the God of War on his lips, the dwarf strikes the dazed beast a mighty blow on the underside of its chin. The thing flies backward, smashing open the shutters and flopping onto the hard ground outside. The pile of corpses is starting to grow below that window...

Ruig bellows "Yes! Urox!" as he charges through the door, over the piles of unconscious broo, and lays a devastating two-handed warhammer blow into the exposed rib-cage of Ruglan's opponent (9a). The beast is thrown sideways like it was struck by a catapult stone, tumbling over and over across the damp earth. It finally comes to rest in a lifeless heap.

Flying the coop
Seeing his Elven bretheren in trouble, Meneloss barks to Madragar, "We've got to help them! Grab your berries and follow me!" Then he climbs down his makeshift ladder. He sidesteps around the bloody and wild-eyed Sangraal and moves at a double clip straight out the back door and hangs a right heading east along the house and about ten feet past it.
[his final position should be about 2 squares east of the NE corner of the house and 4 squares north from the easternmost Broo corpse on the eastern wall of the house]

Atan moves in quickly against his axe swinging opponent, trying to overwhelm it while the broo struggles with the punji pit. For a moment their weapons become locked, battleaxe and longsword. Atan and the broo press together, pushing weapon to weapon, each fighter's strength matched by the other. Then, with cunning quickness, Atan gives way and steps to the left. The broo is thrown off balance and falls to the ground before him. A split second later Atan's sword, both of his hands on the grip, his whole body behind the blow, comes down on the back of the creature's neck. The beast is forever silent, its head rolling off into the wheatfield.
