Re: Grugni
"Thats not a bad idea, Draxim" Kezib says looking down on the dwarf, smiling. Though, I'd hate to burn up the house, unless its been established that the house will be destroyed, that has a back door. What we could do is this. I could still be used as bait, inside the house. We could build a makeshift barriers on the door, so that once the broo enter the house, we can baracade the door, I run out the back door and have someone else baracade the back door. We could leave a sacraficial pig so that the broo would be slower to react, seeing the carcass. Those with arrows we could set aflame and those that can make fire fly from their hands, could set the house aflame. And those that are fighters can take out any broo that escape the inferno."

Re: Grugni
Tagra shakes his head and smiles. "We are getting bold here this mornin. You won't get all the broo in the house, I'll wager. Keep it simple."
"Not to mention," Hegi offers," the fire may spread to the fields and burn us all out."

Re: Grugni
I like the idea of the archers hiding in the wheat as the broo move in on a farmhouse filled with warriors. The archers could start firing from behind the pack as the farmhouse group charges out of concealment.

Re: Grugni
"Aye, that's the idea. A little twine an we can be walkin wheat-men."
Tagra is clearly intrigued by these possibilities. He is an old man of the woods, but seems both open to new ideas and motivated by a strong desire to kill broo which trumps his natural prejudices.

"We should at least head over to the area where the broo are mostly likely to come out of the forest to take a look at the terrain. If we don't like what we see then we can try to make something work in the forest."

Re: Grugni
"Very well, a farm ambush it is. The three Merek Lek outside and camoflagued and the rest in the house in ambush." turning towards Hegi "Are there farms you recommend that is along the route of the Broo? At least one guide will be needed to get us there as quickly as possible so we may prepare the best deense we can. We don't have much time, so I would recommend not sending any additional men to remove the valuables."

Re: Grugni
"Atan," Hegi explains. "I believe you have more time than you realize. I wouldn't expect the broo until after mid-day, and that is hours away yet. Kashan, too, will return ahead of the pack granting us further warning of their approach."
"As for which farms the broo may attack, there are six to the west of this village. They are quite close to the forest and will need to be crossed for the broo to reach the farms further north. Also, they have attacked these farms before, so they may do so again."

Re: Grugni
"Let us see if one of those 6 farms will be appropriate then. As I said before Atan, I will hide in the wheat as well."
[OOC: Speaking of credit where it's due, who first suggested the idea of an ambush hmmmm?]

Lets get out of town
Atan looks at Hegi, "A horse and rider to serve as a guide and then scout for us would help I think. We can send him back to Werthyn once we engage the Broo to give you advance warning as well."

Re: Lets get out of town
"Very well," Hegi replies. "Kashan and Bulh will keep an eye on the warband. I'll send Nrulias with you... once he wakes up."
The old woman smiles and motions to her disciple Khras. The young man, with a noticable issue with personal hygene, nods and makes for the door, presumably to wake the overworked Nrulias.

Re: Lets get out of town
Sangraal and Meneloss fall into an animated discusion that ends with Sangraal climbing up and imagionary wall. Meneloss nods his head in approval.
" Meneloss and I discussed cutting a hole into the thatched roof of the farm house ( if we find one) and having the mages pop up to cast spells down on the broo when they attack."

Re: Lets get out of town or what valuables?
Menloss elaborates on Sangraal's idea: "We can cut holes in the thatch roof, so that once inside, we have access to the roof. When the Broo begin the attack, Madragar and I will be able to target many of them from above, while keeping out of harm's way." Meneloss illustrates his idea with exaggurated gesticulations. He goes on: "Also It would not be a bad idea to have buckets of water at the ready to extinguish any flames they may start. We can also gather some heavy stones with which to cast down upon them after our spells are spent." He places an arm on the dwarf's broad shoulder and says to Draxim "I cannot master fire to my will yet." ; his eyes betray an intense desire to do just that.
He turns to Hegi and continues his ramble: "These farms which have suffered attacks, are any of them fortified?"

Re: Lets get out of town or what valuables?
When Meneloss finsihes speaking Sangraal pipes right back up.
" We could cover the holes from inside so no light shines through till its to late. Also the Merek could all target the spellcasters and hopefully take them out in the first suprise volley."

Re: Lets get out of town or what valuables?
Again, Hegi shakes her head. "Not fortified. We have never been able to top the raids completely. We build the homesteads with simple walls, but strong beams. The broo often wreck the house but we have a good foundation to rebuild on."

Re: Lets get out of town or what valuables?
"Be sure you will have some cover up there, for they have missile weapons also."
Atan stands from the table, "We should go. The more time we have to prepare, the better."
