Re: Decisions, Decisions
"Well," Ruig begins with a wide grin on his face. "It looks like I won't be leaving your company after all. Good. If the wind is right we can sail up the river in a day, otherwise it will be the oars. The road between Tunlura and Raven's Gate isn't dangerous, but it is best to avoid Hyrgalas if possible. Those folk aren't right, not right at all."

Ruig slumps back into his chair and blows air through his teeth. It doesn't seem like he is at all frightened by the mysterious little village on the Rhevas. His concern sounds more like pity.

Re: Meanwhile back at the forge...
Once they get the fires hot enough, Draxim produces the bag of heads, lunars and slugs, selects the head of ruler he never liked anyway ("Corrupt bastard!") and puts the bag away carefully after resealing and tying the string in that special way meant to foil pickpockets and cutpurses like himself. After that he puts the coin in the fire for a while "just to soften it up a bit". He unrolls his satchell of tools and picks a big pair of snips, inspecting them to be sure they are clean. "This will mostly be anvil work." He then gets some tongs from his satchell, grabs the coin out of the fire and cuts the crooked politician right in half. "better'n he deserves." He then begins fashioning one half into a pin using a small hammer. The process is tedious: heat, bang to elongate, cool in bucket, heat, round and strengthen the elongation, cool, repeat, and soon he is more than happy to let Meneloss take some turns. "At least with silver we don't have to get the fire too hot!" breathes Draxim taking a sip on the waterskin.

Re: Meanwhile back at the forge...
This simple task is familiar to Meneloss, having hat to do it often in the forge of Eol. Though his hands are out of practice and more than once, he flubs a hammer stroke. Meneloss is careful in listening to all of Draxim's instruction. While they work, Meneloss tries to speak a little to his Dwarven friend. "Draxim, how did you come to this? What brought you to Grugni's in the first place?"

Meanwhile back at the Longhouse
"Ravensgate it is! We will bury Tagra in the morning and can be in Tunlura by mid-afternoon."

Atan drains the remenants of ale in his mug and stands to seek another, "One more, that's all." Stepping around Sangraal on his way to the keg he nods towards the Yelm preist, "Hey, how is that pig cooking?"

Re: Meanwhile back at the Longhouse
"Ruig actually. I met him in a tavern and ... I guess I was at a crossroads in my life. He taught me about Urox the thunderer, and convinced me that my destiny lies in fighting chaos. I was a little skeptical at first, but everything has fallen into palce so neatly since that day. There have been trials to be sure but standing here at this forge, I look back at the path of my life, and I am more satisfied and happier than I have ever been, even though I have far less of the comforts than I am used to. All my life was just training for the day I met Ruig and embarked on this path." He puts his face back into his work. "Of course it's a path of atonement too. I have done questionable things in my 40 some years." He assertively begins hammering the ends of the broach flat in order to curl them back into the hammer pattern he has planned.

Re: Meanwhile back at the Longhouse
"We have all done things we are not proud of." Meneloss stokes the fire with the bellows. He takes a swig from his waterskin and wipes his brow. "Draxim, when I am in here working, it makes me long for the simple life in simpler times. I was to be a smith and craftsman like Eol. Now I am a wanderer with no forge to call home." Meneloss adds some wood to the furnace, "I wish I could be a smith in peace. There is no peace on this Earth, not for me or any other it seems. There are dark days ahead."
