Re: Creepin' and Peepin'
"This is my counsel," says Madragar. "We should nurse our wounded back to health and move down the tunnel that we can all move through. Our mission is to discover the fate of Koreaus. Should we allow ourselves to be continually distracted by the wonders of the Stonelord's hall, our bones shall surely become permanent fixtures in it."

Re: Creepin' and Peepin'
"Wise council indeed Madragar. If Sangraal left his bed he would probably succumb to his wounds. It will be another day, maybe two, before Sangraal can move about."
"Yet is it not also wise to use that time ? "
"Our mission indeed is to find the fate of Koreaus. Can you tell if he is not behind yon door? I can't."
"I cannot open this door alone."

Madragar sighs. "If Draxim wishes to go, I will send him. Draxim?"

Re: Sleeping away.
Atan wanders over at the Clerics call. "You should rest Sangraal. You will need a couple more days of Yelm's succor before you can move about."

Let's talk
Atan wanders back towards the group, "Guys, I think we need to slow down. People put locks on doors for two reason; to keep something in and to keep others out. There maybe something good behind that door", Atan rubs his hands greedily, "or something bad." now with a glint in his eye he rubs his hands greedily. Then he straightens up and states stoically, "Lets get Meneloss back over here and play it safe."
"Whether we decide to open that locked door or not, let us at least not mess with it until we are healed up and ready. Everyone take stock of your food stores. I estimate we all won't be healed with spells memorized for another two days. Also don't get complacent, just because the Broo havn't found their way in yet doesn't mean they're not still trying. We should keep our defensive position on the stairs."
[OOC: We solved part of the ledge problem but I think our best chances for group survival is if we stick together. Since we all can't get across the chasm yet, it is moot to move anyone else over right now. Let's retire to the stairs, implement a watch system and get the ......<snap>......<snap>....time passes thing going.]

Talk is for Lovers!
"Atan you are joking right? No? Ahh I see, Koreaus must keep fire dragons locked up there is that it? "
Looking at the naysayers and seeing that he is clearly out-voted he takes a step back from the ledge.
He removes the coil from across his chest and plays out 25 feet of line or so between from the end tied to him. Meneloss makes an obscene gesture and yells "Hey, catch!"
Then he throws the rest of the line to Atan. Once the others have the line, Meneloss works with them to get the line over the end of the ladder.
He instructs them to make the line as short as possible. After the line is secured and all preparations are made, Meneloss stubbs out his torch and tosses it across to the South side.
"On three! One....Two....Three!"
He steps off of the ledge and sails......
[OOC: C'Mon guys! fighting Broo is fun and all but D+D is also about puzzles and challenges. Two days of sitting on a stair in the dark, besides boring, is bad role-play. These characters are adventurers not stair-sitting porch monkeys. ]

It certainly isn't bad roleplaying, though it may be bad for Meneloss. Ruig, for instance, is perfectly content to wait for Sangraal to recover.
I would remind everyone to keep any reaction to what goes on in the campaign in character. Meneloss can try to convince Atan of the virtues of further exploration, but Sean shouldn't raise the issue with Halle. Making in character disagreements personal is a short road to getting kicked out of the campaign. No joke.

Hotel Illness
Atan peels off Sangraal's pus-soaked bandages and inspects the wound in his chest. There are no immediate signs of infection, and the elf guesses Sangraal could be out of the woods after another day of rest.
[So, what shall you do for a day on a cold, dark staircase?]

Re: Hotel Illness
[sorry I haven't posted for a bit. Can we go back in time?]
"I think the rope thing will work," says Draxim surprisingly. "The key is to make sure you have good anchors on both sides, and enough rope. Given that, I'll be happy to admit that Meneloss might not be so flighty in the brain after all, and go take a look."
Draxim goes to inspect the hammer and chisel to see if there is any chance at all of lifting the hammer, or using it to drive a spike into the living rock of Koraeus' secret tunnel.

Re: Hotel Illness
The hammer is a cylinder of wood maybe four feet in diameter and five feet long, with a three foot handle. Obviously an enormous tree was felled to make this tool, and Draxim doesn't think he could drag it, let alone pick it up and use it.
The chisel is a single, solid piece of polished iron set in a three foot long wooden handle. It is about seven feet long from butt to tip and immesurably heavy.

Sangraal the sleepy
Sangraal sleeps on and off all day. He takes time to thank Ruig for saving his life and offers due reverence to Urox. At one point Sangraal speaks to Madragar in Lunar for a short time but quickly ends the conversation as his strength disolves. Lastly he takes a moment to speak with Kezib, his longtime friend.
"I heard you shed a tear in my name?" he jokes weakly.

Re: Sangraal the sleepy
At Meneloss's impetuous barb about fire dragons, Atan only shrugs and smiles, "And where there is dragons, there is treasure. Right Meneloss? Don't worry, I already said I want to go over and explore, and I think the rest of the party feels the same."
Between caring for Sangraal and changing dressings, Atan spends the remainder of the day talking with Ruig and Draxim. Apparently the elf has taken an interest in learning the Dwarvish tongue.
[OOC: Atan keeps his backpack packed and ready to travel, includig his bedroll. If he takes anything out he packs it back up as soon as he is done. His bow will be unstrung when he is lounging on the stairs, but if he leaves the stairs or goes on watch he will string it.]

Re: Sangraal the sleepy
Looking at Sangraal, noting the weak sarcasam, Kezib says, "Yes, but it was only one." Smirking, Kezib turns serious. "Im truly happy that you are awake, my friend. It would have been a bad day for me, if I did lose you. Granted, you and I have been friends for a long time and both knew that one day, one of us, if not both of us, may not make it back to the Temple, yet seeing you down truly made things clearer to me. This is the road we chose to travel and I continue to choose." Sighing Kezib ends leaving the discussion openended turns and looks out into the darkness.

Re: Stuff your sorries in a sack
[I honestly don't know what Draxim is talking about. Meneloss can stay on the north side as long as he likes but once he comes back south he's stuck there until he can get another Spider Climb.
There is, however, no where to anchor a rope on the north ledge.]

Let's do the Time Warp again!
Meneloss is greatly encouraged by Draxim's endorsment. He calls out across the cavern "If you lower him down, I may be able to haul him across the chasm using a second rope. Then Master Draxim's climbing skills will allow him to climb up the ledge. I'd rather do it with lighter wieghted folk first to give more strength for the hauling."
[ooc: Draxim is lowered with a safety harness. Those on the South side are his safety belay. Meneloss will then pull a second rope leading from Draxim to Meneloss on the North ledge. By shortening the North rope, Draxim is pulled across the chasm. Once across he can hopefully use his climbing skill to ascend. Should I bother with another diagram?]
