Re: Stuff your sorries in a sack
"Draxim, I recommend you wait before messing with the door. Once Sangraal is healed and the clerics spells are memorized we would be in better situation to dabble with the door."
[There, of course, is no guarentee that something bad is going to happen. But if something does, none of us will be able to help you or Meneloss. Take stock of your current situation and act as you see fit.]

Re: Stuff your sorries in a sack
"Then everyone will want to sally forth and slay the Broo." Retorts Meneloss. "No time like the present eh Draxim?"
Meneloss waits on the North ledge to see if the Dwarf will attempt a crossing.
[the real danger is more likely that trouble happens on the South side of the chasm and Draxim and Meneloss won't be able to help the party...]

Let's Roll!
"I'm not going to mess with it, Atan, I just want to look at it. We aren't doing anything else for awhile. Are you willing to haul me across then?"
[By the way at 4' 4" it is unlikely that Draxim outweighs Meneloss at 6'2" by that much, despite what he says.]

Re: Let's Roll!
Draxim crafts a second harness, this time for himself. The dwarf is slowly belayed down into the dark chasm, then back up to the north ledge by Meneloss. It isn't a swift operation, but it is relatively safe and Draxim reaches the other side without incident.
Together, Draxim and Meneloss march off into the darkness in search of a big, stone door.

Re: Let's Roll!
Madragar sighs. "And they were never heard from again..."
"Look, as the issue seems to have come up, we need to discuss the word 'loot'. This is not the home of some dragon, to be despoiled and burned. This is the home of a great defender of the people. You and I and all our kin have lived in the shadow of his defense for generations. We should not go carrying his possessions like so many drink-addled raiders. It is unseemly, and the gods note what is done below."

All in the name of good.
" The moral dilema of taking treasure from this place is complicated. If the defender has fallen, then better to remove anything that could be of use to Chaos, we can always take it back to Tunlura and let the Gurugal decide."

Re: Let's Roll!
Atan sits again, wondering what the pull of that door must really be to his kin Meneloss. When Madragar begins discussing what to do with any loot, Atan seems not very interested, "I guess we can split any treasure even shares, items that can be used to fight chaos should be used. But so far all we have found down here is death.....and Yimris took more then his fair share."

Re: Let's Roll!
Ruig turns to Atan with a curious expression.
"Humakt doles out equal shares to everyone, Atan. Yimris got exactly the right amount, though I can't help but think it was a cruel fate for one so briefly on the Path."

Re: Let's Roll!
Atan sets his bow down next to him and stretchs out on the ground, arms folded behind his head as pillow. Staring up into the darkness, "Yes, true. Tell me Master Ruig. What is this Path that Yimris was on? He never talked very much, but he talked even less about this."

Re: Let's Roll!
"Atan," says Madragar sternly, "I was NOT discussing the division of loot. I was saying that we should not loot at all. Certainly not until the fate of the owner is determined, and then only, as Sagraal wisely says, to protect his most important possessions from the acid hand of Chaos."

All stop
Atan still comfortable laying on the ground, rolls his head to the side so as to look at the fisherman turned mage. "Don't worry Madragar, you'll get your fair share." A smirk indicates that he is pulling the fisherman's leg.

"And I had hopes that boy would be a leader," Madragar mutters to nobody in particular. He goes over to sit with his back to the wall and feeds Kyethe small pieces of dried fruit.

Re: All stop
Sitting up, Atan looks over to Madragar. "I agree that IF we find any treasure we shouldn't flaunt it. Koreus was supposedly keeping watch on something belonging to chaos. That is what I am really concerned about. Where is that thing? Whatever it is? I think it could be behind that locked door. Any material richs we find are incidental, if they were ill gotten we should try and return them to the rightful owner if it can be determined. If not, then we can certainly utilize funds to cover our own expenses and aid us. I am realy not worried about treasure right now....and not that I think you are. We should be carful though, the lure of treasure does make people say brash things and take precipitous actions."

Sangraal the thoughful
"Speaking of precipitous actions, have Meneloss and Draxim returned?" Sangraal croaks, his throat dry and partched, indicating that he has awoken from one of his many naps.
"I was thinking before I slept about what is going on here at old Kurlew. Trying to grasp the big picture. What exactly do we know?"
Sangraal pauses to drink heavily from his waterskin.
"1. Something heavy was removed from Old Kurlew, something they needed to build a ramp for. Lets say what ever they came to get was in 2 parts, part 1 is big and heavy, they got part 1 so many of the broo moved on.
2. When we came out of the secret door, the dwarf was on a ladder looking for something, maybe the latch for the secret door, assuming it was the same type of construction as to the secret door we used to enter this tunnel/chasm area. But the question is why are they looking? They must figure that the giant had a secret room. So the locked door that Meneloss found could have somthing they are looking for.
3. The Legionarre did not want to fight us? but he was obviously a master of weapons. Why? Maybe he did'nt want his presence known?
I wonder if there is a connection between him and the new ruler of Ravens Gate?"
Sangraal stops his torent stream of thought and takes another long pull of water.
"Thoughts?"

Re: Sangraal the thoughful
Look, still, in the darkness, Kezib says "I highly doubt that the thing that the broo are, or were, looking for is in this room. I would assume that it would be deeper in the mountain, in the depths of the mountain."
He turns to look across to see if he can see either Meneloss or Draxim, with a shrug.

"I think the next time we find non-broo, we should talk to them first, draw weapons second," says Madragar.
